I could never play at this level - I'm more of a campaign enjoyer, but it's really cool watching pros go at it with different strategies and approaches. Love the content!

Why do you use ares god power like that? Is it to scout what your opponent is doing before constructing your perfect army comp?

question: does top players still play "the Titans" (on Voobly)? Number of EE players did not drop significantly, but it looks like all top players moved to Retold...

Obviously it worked out as is but any thought to grabbing the hypaspist tech when you go through Ares? Maybe if facing a different god?

If anything Norse would be the ideal opponent for early hypaspist. Hop/tox worked fine as you say but surely a few counter-inf couldnt go astray

actually it's best used against norse since they have mostly infantry in classical

This can work well against norse, especially loki when they spam hersir. Here the enemy used more raiding cav so hoplites were prob. better. But rushing hypaspists was my go to at the time before every one was playing mass cyclops and a lot of people were "abusing" norse.
