Just ran into this issue on my kx250 same M6 bolt, wondering if there’d be an issue with drilling and tapping it to a M8 thread and just using a bigger bolt ?
I have the exact problem to fix. Awesome video. But did you end up taking the tan off of the helix oil? My passage passes through so I worry about dropping the tab into the motor. Thank for your video
I'm going to do mine right now. ( 2009 WR450F) I'm leaving the tab on. When setting depth of helicoil don't forget to consider the thickness of the oil cover. And I'm using a shop vac instead of an air hose. Then spraying cleaner into hole and draining old oil and cleaner out before putting filter back in. Note that the install tool (in the kit used) has a collar to adjust amount of depth you desire. ........* A little while later : And now it's fixed. Thanks Rodney for doing this video.
Is the whole length of the bolt or just the threads when you drill
Thanks for the tip
You're welcome :)

Saved my fucking life 😭
hey man mines doing that could i do this?
Yeah just be careful
You are blowing those chips right inside the motor. Take the time and pull the crank case cover so you are letting metal chips go into your motor.
I was thinking the same thing what I was recording him doing that lol
