Looks like a very low key and personable staff. I’ve been wanting a Teric, but I’m intrigued by the Garmin computer you and your staff were talking about. I definitely will be checking it out.
We just picked up the Aqualung i330R. It's a nice little unit with a good size coloured screen. Just getting into diving and for the price on sale I think it's hard to beat. Still need to dive it though. Looking forward to it!
Hey Chris ! Thanks for the note. The 330R has been very popular especially because of it's excellent color screen. Lot's of features and user friendly. Enjoy and Dive Safe out there... Bob C
Can’t say enough about my Garmin MK2i black titanium bracelet. Amazing dive computer and now my daily wear watch with outstanding health and lifestyle features
The Mk2i is an amazing dive computer, but very expensive, and I'm not a huge fan of the sonar transmitter. Though the range of the transmitter is fantastic (much better than the radio transmitters other manufacturers use), but I've heard people can hear the high pitched sound of the sonar. And if people can hear it, I'm pretty sure it will disturb marine life who rely on sonar communication as well. I personally have a Shearwater Perdix AI (1st gen), and love it to bits. Yeah, you can't wear it to dinner, but that's not what I bought it for. I have a (dive) watch I can wear to dinner, and I have a smart phone, so I don't need those functionalities from my dive computer.
Thank you for another very informative video! I'm currently looking into AI computers; specifically the i770R as it is rather inexpensive, features a compass, colored screen, apparently decent battery life etc. Nobody seems to recommend it, though; it seems as if everyone in the internet is recommending spending a couple hundred $ more and get a "top computer", aka shearwater right away. Britney shortly mentioned she is actually owning one - are there any obvious caveats I am overseeing with this computer or would it actually be a good pick for a recreational diver wanting to have AI, bluetooth and GTR on the main screen (looking at you, i470TC 😠)? Here in the EU I can get a i770R for 769€, whereas e.g. a Perdix 2 would cost 1444€ (both including transmitters), which seems to be an overkill for an entry level diver not planning to go tech anytime soon
Mr Tom, 1st thanks for your comments. I look at your last sentence " overkill... entry level.. not going Tech anytime soon". Being that I see every day what folks in general; look at, drool over, ask questions about and what they end up buying with their hard earned money. In general it's not what a company says in an ad, or what a salesperson try's to convince you to buy (especially when that's the only brand they carry). My .02 as we say in the US...Shearwater sells the Peregrine unit, I'd suggest you move it towards the top of your list. Regards, Bob C
There are some add-on color protective covers that can be used. Some of our instructors use them. Google this SHAMROCK HEALTH Silicone Protective Cover for Shearwater Perdix
@@DiversSupplyYT thanks those look nice. I'll have to look into it. I had also reached out to them If they'd offer other band colors. "While we don't have other colours available for the Peregrine straps besides blue and white at this time, we're looking into it further." It's just nice to personalize thr gear especially when others might have the same.
Personally, I'd appreciate an opinion of a high end computer for someone who doesn't want to wear it all the time. I want a dive computer to be safe when I'm not diving, not being at the end of my clumsy arms. I'm never going to spend extra money for the other functions I'm not going to use.
Do you want air-integration ? Yes, go with the Shearwater Perdix (you can buy it without transmitter and if you decide later to add AI you can) if No, then go with the Peregrin great unit, easy to see, great features and about 2/3rds cost of Perdix. To me when you say "high end", it means color display and top quality build. Regards Bob C
12:55 ? so you telling me i have to pay 300usd or how much is the extra transmiter to see your air?? for 300 us is better to ask you 300 times how much air you have!! my oceanic oci its like 9 years old and i can see 4 transmiter so no point on this one!! sorry..12:58 everyday use ? you have on applewatch and all the other apps?? you dont seem to use them!! black humor) and why i care the entrance point and exit point?? that much? if i need to mark something ok fair enough ..nice topic keep it up all of you !!
...mmm "consoles" wow you are high tech ! I started scuba diving 43 years ago with just my dive table -a mask - fins -snorkel - backpack - tank and my Dacor Pacer 900 regulator with a air n depth gauge and my dive watch ! GUESS WHAT ? the local dive shop owner is still mad that I won't but a dive computer $$$ . I did buy a BC but I only use it for dives deeper than 35 feet .

Seems that's the general consensus with the Mk2i owners... Thanks for your comment Scott. Bob C
If you're already in the Garmin ecosystem with another watch (like I am) then it's a no brainer on going with the Mk2i.
Great video. Nice job of pointing out the computers that might be best for folks that need glasses to read stuff up close. Thanks!!
Hey Ultra ! Thanks for the comment, yes sir those big bright colors do make a difference. Regards Bob C
This makes me glad I’ve bought a Peregrine!

The showstopper of the PEREGRINE is the lack of a compass. For me, at least.

Does anyone use consoles anymore? Am I the last Mohican that wont change??
Yes sir Dvr 77, lots of folks are diving Consoles. There's a couple of vids here on consoles.. Regards Bob C
I still use one in the pool. For open water I have the Garmin mk2i. Going to pick up shearwater for tech. I want the bigger screen.
