  • 3 Awesome EDC Fixed Blades Under $100! #shorts #youtubeshorts First one is the Joker Knives Avispa probably my favorite of the bunch. The second one is the QSP Canary it can be dropped in the pocket or worn as a neck knife and it comes in many configurations. The third is the Brisa Knives Necker it’s comfortable in hand, well made and very affordable.

      How did you like the neckmuk? I really like that blade shape/style, makes for a versatile knife. Did you like the sheath?

    • @3231bsln
      @3231bsln Год назад

      @brianrodman1033 I liked it. First, it takes getting used to bc of the handle shape. It's a high flat grind and so is for cardboard or similar. The belly is high, so you kind of lose leverage depending on where you're cutting. The spine is actually sharp (good for scraping), so it's a bit rough on long pressing movements. It takes a good edge and cuts well though, due to how narrow it gets bte.I took the clip off a le duck and added it so I could belt carry abs loved it. I lost it on a jump...I just wish I still had it lol

    With Bradford 3 and 3.5’s doing for $110 they almost make this category and are excellent, I wish they would start offering them with a kydex sheath vs having to buy them separately though.

      Where u find the bradford 3 or a 3.5 at $110 . Was looking for one but all are more then that on there site. Definitely would love to find one at that price , super steel or not.

      @@Brendel_knives the Bradfords are on most knife retailer websites, they usually offer a base model with n690 or similar, and higher end ones with m390 or similar. Don’t order from Bradford, you’ll pay msrp which is too much.

    i recommend buying a low priced knife with a cheap sheath then buy a sheet of kydex and a clip and some eyelets. the total cost of kydex sheath materials will be around 20 dollars. then you can make your own custom sheath. i used an air fryer to heat it up and pressed it between a yoga mat and two books I stepped on.

      I'm in the same boat, probably gonna snag that canary!

    • @cameronchicken8439
      @cameronchicken8439 Год назад

      @@jobani97 i bought it as soon as it came out and i’ve had it a while and i would say that it’s good but not great. my biggest complaint is that the sheath and handle are both too
      symmetrically similar on all sides so it is easy to use the wrong side of the sheath as a thumb ramp and cut yourself. the sheath is well done otherwise and it has great retention and build quality but i only wear fixed blades on a static cord and so now i skip using a my thumb at all with this sheath and sometimes the blade comes out backwards. it’s pretty cool though, the three finger grip is passably because the micarta grippy handle feels great and the wide blade makes it more usable for its size but the tip is nothing to get excited about and it would be nice if it were oriented forward a bit but it is also fairly thin behind the edge and i got it really sharp without much difficulty but i would almost say that you should find something better. it’s okay though. i’m going to end up making a different sheath for it which takes time money and effort that i could use to get a different knife in this same price point, that’s 100 percent savings.

    • @cameronchicken8439
      @cameronchicken8439 Год назад

      @@jobani97 i take it all back. right when i commented that i walked over to my qsp canary and decided to start modifying it and now in the last 24 hours i would say that i’m pretty happy with it. what i did is i drilled another hole in the sheath so that i could attach to the balance point and then i took the layers of my belt apart where the leather folds over the buckle and i used some black bank line and the eyelets on the sheath to tie it so that the sheath is sort of sandwiched between the layers on my belt below my buckle and then right on the end of the handle i carefully layered superglue and baking soda until i built up a swell on the end of the handle on both sides and then sanded it to shape so that it is much easier to grip in order to pull out of the sheath. the superglue makes a good bond with the micarta handles and also i took some black dye and dyed the handles black and then i gave it a nice finish with beeswax which came out really good because the micarta is somewhat absorbent and then i took it back to the stone and i’m in the process of thinning the blade. i think it makes a decent belt buckle knife because of how low profile it is but i do wish it was a little pointier.

    I been searching for a RIGHT edc fixed blade for me! I carry at least 2 knives at all times but most of the time 3. Right now its a flipper, a slip joint and a buck 110 on my belt taking the place as a fixed blade. I cant find a fixed blade that has the shape i want with the size i want, and the price im willing to pay for decent steel. Around $50 is my max since i USE my knives hard, have to sharpen at least once a month and i either break, wear out or loose it.

    Have you seen that there’s a Scandi grind on the Brisa necker? They got a lot of options on it which is cool but I’m not sure which to get. You have any experience with the Scandi? But you still like the quality of the flat anyways yah? So that helps

    • @charlessalmond7076
      @charlessalmond7076 Год назад +2

      Scandi is great for woodworking. Thats literally all ill use my scandi knives for. Way to fat behind the edge to be slicey. Full flat or high saber for edc. Just my opinion. (51yr old working carpenter)

    • @Stassa23
      @Stassa23  Год назад +2

      Yeah I don’t do a lot of wood carving so the full flat makes a lot more sense for general edc task just because a scandi is not ideal for everyday task like cardboard, plastic, rope, rubber ext.
