This is a part of why Shiki forgives Neku because she felt that he basically had no choice in the matter.
Well, don't forget the part where Neku was hesitating on killing her, until Uzuki told him Shiki was a Reaper spy without any real evidence and that was enough to convince him to go through with it despite Shiki's pleas. Regardless, Neku took the deal. Like Hanekoma said, Neku was a fool for taking the bait and foolish for not trusting his partner.
@@songhill6962 oh ok, thanks for the correction. on the other hand, i'm still not happy about how they changed neku's internal conflict to just "he can't help it because the noise got to him." it's still made to be that he had a lot of negative emotions and desperation, which is how the noise take over, but it makes his character in week 1 seem very different to me.
Kitaniji is probably one of my favorite main antagonists, and it's almost entirely due to that one flashback. It's so obvious that he genuinely loves Shibuya, going as far as immediately accepting the risk of complete erasure if it meant a chance to save Shibuya -something he, technically, succeeds in as well. Furthermore, he is something of a true reversal of Neku, going as far as having design similarities with the protagonist (namely, the headphones). While Neku begins as a stubborn, close-minded and arrogant person who eventually becomes a far more accepting and friendly guy, Kitaniji is simply flipped; showing signs of genuine appreciation for both the city of Shibuya and its people in the flashback to the point of actual love -but is later (earlier, in terms of gameplay) seen treating people more as if they were some kind of pests infesting the city he was tasked with saving. I assume it's sorta accepted at this point, but I remember back when I first beat the game years ago thinking that Kitaniji's entry fee was his "love for Shibuya/its people" or something along those lines, and that this loss of his love of it/them ultimately resulted in his losing the Game. He's not exactly the most fleshed out character I've ever seen, but what is seen is enough for me to look at him and just feel a little bad for him, you know? He was so quick to risk his very existence to save Shibuya, but the Game he played to do so was practically rigged from the start... Again, though, I still feel like he 'won'. He was willing to risk erasure to save Shibuya. He may have been erased, but Shibuya was saved. ...and then Coco happens, I guess. Oh well. Edit: Lolita Bat is the best Pin, don't @ me.
That new arc with Coco is pretty pointless to me the game was already good and perfectly closed. It was not necessary at all. I had the same feeling with "The Answer" in P3.
Might be a bit late replying to this but this is a genuinely interesting take which I never considered but does make a lot of sense. Especially the part about them mirroring each other with their outlooks and how they start with almost polar opposite views. This is shown in how they wear the one main similarity in their design, the headphones. Neku wears his over his ears shutting everything out whilst Kitaniji has his lowered around his neck, showing his acceptance of the "noise".
My favorite DS game even though I played it in the most scuffed way possible. I didn't understand the food mechanic and thought it was only temp buff so I never ate anything. Shit got really hard on last few bosses lol.
Thank you, Patrons who voted for this title. I have to admit, this one took longer than expected (it's a rather grindy game). So, Technically this is a one-off game, even though a sequel is coming sometime in the future. Before anyone says anything, I am aware I said 777's name as 7-7-7 and not Triple 7 like its supposed to, honest mistake. Also, there is a subtle time I only caught where I say Hanekuma instead of Hanekoma, but the timing of it is almost appropriate, so I left it in (call it a happy accident). Otherwise, I wanted to leave in some side stuff like Makoto's arc, but it was getting long and really wasn't crucial to the central story. Personally, I feel the switch version is fine, and I like some of the remixed tracks more than the original, though I kept the original versions in this video. Honestly, ghr final scene between Joshua and Hanakoma on the new day was intresting, especially for Joshua, because when he says it's doesn't matter that Neku has died, he days it like he doesn't really believe it, and secondly, it directly contradict his actions as he was clearly rushing to where Neku and Beat were, which could be read as him attempting to save Neku. Joshua is great as a character because you can never truly tell what's going on with him, but it was a nice character touch because although he says he doesn't care about Neku his actions clearly state otherwise and you can tell ots a point of conflict for him.
I've played thousands of games in my day ranging from Zelda to The Last Of Us to The Witcher and I can safely say this is my favorite game of all time. If you've never played it, please do. I don't think a game has ever genuinely made me crack up at times or sick to my stomach in tears or tensed me up for antagonist encounters like this. Obviously not lol.
Neku is nothing but a cameo in KH.
Um their appearance in 3D is another version them not the game’s version given the dialogue
@@sudohnim1275 don’t you mean complex lore?
The Secret Reports remind me of KH3 & Remind
Christ.... well Sora and Neku kinda had something somewhat in common 😅 they both died and vanished at the end of their major journey. The parallel
Sho is my favorite Reaper. Change my damn Zeta mind!
No need
XD
5th time I watched this, I think it makes the game more interesting than the game itself lol
Hopefully, Oni will make a NEO vid someday 😊
Why the fuck wasn't I subscribed to this? I really enjoy your content bro, I liked your video on automata and xenogears a lot.
when i replayed this when it came to switch and saw they were called memes this whole time..
Cousin had it. Managed up to week 1 day 4, couldn't get past the shark as a kid
One game that actually is fun on the cell phone.
Is it just me or is anyone else exploring stuff about this game because of KH3D?
I know it a laugh but understand. When kh decided to add twewy character to kh like when they added ff character, people assumed sora is in twewy and the new one. KH only added them as blank npc.
I knew about TWEWY before 3D I think 🤔
Literally just beat this game today, pretty funny timing Haha
I just finished it
While waiting for the Switch sequel...
What a wonderful time...
enjoyed this more than going through it
the sequel however improves upon all the meh of this one. which im happy with.
This game is a masterpiece
I like how he just *had* to mention stealing Minamimotos hat
46:39 *YOU DID NOT SAY THAT*

Crazy noisy bizarre district. Accurate, but a reference? Hmm.
Are you going to do a recap of NEO TWEWY?
Zetta Cool. Thanks for making this

Ain't gonna lie I liked this recap more than playing the game... RECAPItation of twewy:n when?
Neo: TWEWY is out! ;)
42:28 for A New Day summary
It's great to see one of my all time favoirte games get some more spotlight, Here's hoping the Anime and NEO stick the landing , it's been so long since the series got anything so im really hoping this means something good and not another 13 years of nothing
SO EXCITED FOR THIS
Tfw I played for like 30 minutes and fell off, but im hooked by NEO
So Neku goes through a bunch of bullshit.
And MORE in NEO
XD
All caught up for NEO LETS GOOO
Was about to watch someone play the new game and they said to go check out a recap of the last one. Good god were they right
Wild guess it's nicoB
God I hope this doesn't doesn't result in another Kingdom Hearts cluster of crazy.
It is too late my friend
Nah.
🤣 this game is full of crazy and emotions mate
@@gracekim1998 I don't mind emotions. I mind Tetsuya Nomura
trying to be Eiichiro Oda
when he isn't as good of a writer
To be continued in neo the world ends with you and/or whatever the FUCK is going on with kingdom hearts lmao
