Photoshop was originally created to support Illustrator users who required bitmap features that Illustrator lacked. Photoshop's junior position to Illustrator quickly disappeared with Photoshop becoming so much more popular, that Illustrator ended up being used by creators to support their main Photoshop created works. (that was the story being told way back in the 1990's)
Who was saying that? I remember the 90s my first Photoshop was 5.5 on a G3 Mac running Mac OS 8.5 😂 I remember learning that and not getting my head around illustrator and just focusing on Photoshop. Never heard this story, I always heard Adobe bought illustrator and that’s why the skills didn’t translate as much between programs. Looking it up it seems the other way. Adobe created illustrator and bought Photoshop from sole brothers one of which worked at ILM. Can’t find info where it was created to complement each other.
@@sloppynyuszi My first Photoshop version was a new release of 4.0 and I had Deke McClelland's Photoshop instruction book for that version. Maybe I read it there 🤔? But definitely I am not so smart to invent the story out of whole cloth! So I only can definitely state that I did read that Photoshop "history" sometime back in the 1990's.
@@sloppynyuszi I found this online. it's not exactly what I said but interesting none the less. : "Only about half of Photoshop users own Illustrator. Meanwhile, close to 90 percent of Illustrator users own Photoshop. This is why I cover the special relationship between Illustrator and Photoshop in depth in my Illustrator book, Real World Illustrator 9 (Berkeley, CA: Peachpit Press, 2000)." - from "Photoshop 6 for Windows Bible" by Deke McClelland I'm sure there a Photoshop youtuber out there who knows all things Illustrator+Photoshop and hopefully they will set the record straight. 🤞🍀
Tbh I prefer using Illustrator only because it so much easier to create shapes and manipulate them dynamically. Its such a pain for me to build my illustrations with shapes in Photoshop because the UI is not as quick and flexible like in Illustrator. Digital drawing or painting is much easier in Photoshop I have to say...
It's funny when I started digital drawing I was drawing in indesign. I found the UI easier to use the illustrator. Plus since I was using a trackpad if I wanted to move an anchor with the arrow keys, the stroke for the line would continue. illustrator doesn't do that and it drives me wild to this day!!!
......so why tf are these two different programs again and not one single program? the ONLY difference is that one uses pixel graphics, the other one verctor graphics... wich could just be an option if you start a new project in photoshop. or am i wrong?
I also own an MSI Creator laptop (the P16 line, though, I think), it's awesome! Albeit the feature I'm mostly thankful for in everyday usage are the 3 USB A ports and the HDMI port - no Thunderbolt dock needed! 😂
When I need to make drawings with shapes and curves, I use animate (aka flash) I know it’s supposed to be used for animations but photoshop was originally for photos Think about that before you judge Also it doesn’t crash
Thank you for this incredibly well explained video! I do have a few burning questions however: Which model tablet are you using in this video? I'm looking to get my first pen tablet (for architectural sketching) and what you're using looks amazing! I have zero knowledge on these tablets, but yours looks to be exactly what I had in mind. The size looks perfect too with plenty of room to sketch. I'm basically drooling over here 😆 Also, does your tablet have the option to use a keyboard and mouse as well? A keyboard for quickly naming layers, etc, and a mouse to do some of the more intricate operations in Photoshop? And if so, would I be able to use the stylus pen and the mouse simultaneously? Thanks again for your content 😊
i've been using macromedia and IL9 until yesterday. i love fireworks for editing graphics and pictures, making logos and stickers. hot buttons and such back when it was new. will ps wrk much like fireworks did?
trying to learn soft so I am easily understanding everytNice tutorialng but I don't tNice tutorialnk it is for complete beginners who just opened the soft literally 5
Hand up over here for one of those people who like drawing in Flash / Animate. The way it handles overlapping strokes and fills is still pretty unique when you are drawing flat colour art.

@@graphosxp it’s true sometimes one remembers things differently from back then. Internet was quite limited.

That call center animation in the beginning was hilarious, I love it❤️
As far as I know Fresco & Substance Modeler are free right now.
In case of Fresco you will just be missing some specific brush.
yup the brushes that I so desperately want lol
Love your style of animation!! Great job and great video!
It reminds me of drawing in Flash. I’ve known so many people who chose to illustrate there over both PS and AI.
Knowing this I’d rather continue to use affinity designer, you can literally do both of these things, in the same app.
I was wondering if Fresco would get mentioned. I like the watercolor brushes a lot. Hidden gem of an app
Love that your using more of character animator
“I just crashed” XD

Cool animation. Did you use illustrator and adobe animate to create the cartoon characters? Thanks
There is no vs. They work together.

It's really entertaining. I loved it.

For your general cell style Brad, I thought you'd be in illustrator 90% of the time with the blob + fill + eraser brush. Thanks for sharing.

Can we draw vectors on Huion 2022 tablet?
Won't you lose the vector features by taking your illustrator file into Photoshop and saving it from there?
It’s from usa
