the annoying thing pilots do is start announcements out loud then fade out and mumble
I know, they're always like: GOOD EVENING PASSENGERS...We Will Be Arriving At 4:42pm...the...weather...is sssuunnyyy" Like speak up the whole time please.

What I find most annoying is the PA's performed in the middle of a long flight that have no real purpose or value, but block out the movie you're watching to kill time during your 10 hour flight. ....and then the stewardesses repeat the same thing in three different languages. Air Canada is one of the worst when you're taking a flight from Vancouver to China. English, then French, then Chinese, then sometimes Cantonese as well for good measure. The added bonus is that some of the flight attendants then embelish the message, as their version takes twice as long as the original one from the flight deck. Just sayin'.... lol

Things pilots and FA’s do to annoy ground crews... 1) spend 10 minutes chatting on the jet bridge when we have a 30 minute turn and gotta start boarding.
Also, agree with the bonus... hide the good snacks from us too!
I came over here because I follow Kelsey's channel. I'm not easily annoyed anyway, but I really do appreciate the flight attendants. I know they get hassled by some passengers, but I appreciate how you look out for us. Since I rarely see the pilots, they don't really annoy me. As long as they are flying safely from beginning to end, they have my appreciation.

Southwest has the funniest air crews. The intro stories become a competition if you tell the current crew how funny the last crew was.
My favorite was about the fine for tampering with smoke detectors. She said if you had that kind of money, you’d fly American where they charge for bags.

I was on a Southwest flight and we were heading to Vegas for a 3-hour layover. Instead of saying Las Vegas, the Flight Attendants called Vegas "Lost Wages". The Captain, whom I met after the LONG Transcon, pretended to forget the name of the Grand Canyon as we were descending into Vegas🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. The Captain is a REALLY nice guy! He's super sweet! I met him back in 2007!

Most annoying I get from flight attendants as a mechanic.
"How long is this gonna take? Are you done yet?"
Trust me were going as fast as we can we want you in the air as quickly as possible.
But we gotta make sure the aircraft is safe to fly.
And that paperwork is a nightmare. Especially when you work 5 or more different airliners that want it their particular way.

I've not really thought of what you guys go through, and that's unfortunate because without you all, Kelsey, Stella and passengers like me wouldn't be flying _anywhere_ . Thanks for all you do!
Unless you are negotiating a union contract. Then you make up fake maintenance and force the plane to be late on purpose.
@@jtfike not sure what your going on about. All maintenance calls between flights are due to a pilot or crew member requesting a technician to look at something.
Scheduled maintenance is done at night when the aircraft is on the ground for awhile.

@@CurmudgeonExtraordinaire Yeah, not everyone enjoys bubbly personalities first thing upon waking up. I don't wake up crabby but do enjoy the peace that comes with being asleep. Not ready the minute my eyes open to go full throttle with a new day. I had a cartoon taped beside my bed (years ago) where a kid is waking up an older person and he's saying, "Aren't you happy to be alive ?" The response was, "Yes, I'm just not so happy about being awake." My exact sentiment. P.S. I am a female but feel you have two ears and only one mouth for a reason.

I was on a flight where the pilots had the PA on for the first 5 minutes during takeoff
Got to hear them talking with ATC, configuring the aircraft, calling out airspeeds.etc, it was awesome
Then one of the flight attendants informed them and they turned it off
It took the cabin 5min to let them know? 😅 that must have been awkward
@@OLGMC it probably was, and I'm pretty sure everyone knew who the airplane geek was on that flight, since I was a little bit disappointed for the rest of the flight LMAO
They should have this as a in flight entertainment option! You should be able to put your headphones on and listen to the pilots lol
@@michaelshort2388 That wouldn't always be such a good idea though. Imagine an emergency. Pilots and crew always have to keep their passengers calm and that often means not saying exactly what's wrong but softening it a bit for their PA speeches. If passengers could listen to everything that is said in such a case there would be panic.
imagine the hudson landing in NY if the passengers could actually listen to the calls "we cant make it, we cant do it.... we gonna be in the hudson", there would be panic
@@OLGMC Yeah, for emergencies they would have to turn it off. but for take-off and for a normal landing they could have it on. :)
I've always wondered about the "uhhhhh" in the announcements. They say almost the same thing on every flight so why not practice saying it without hesitation. Turns out they do practice... until they perfect the "uhhhhh" sound 😄
Normally I find the Uhhhh is our brains trying to switch gears and say the right thing not "confirm ILS 32 selected" to the passenger vs the captain.
It’s Chuck Yeager drawl. We all do it, consciously or not.
It’s an essential part of the thinking uhhhh, process.

"aaahhhhhhhh" goes all the way back to early radio .. the reason .. you don't want dead or empty air when you're talking on a shared radio channel. "aaahhhhh" is place holder to say "I'm still talking" so others will not start talking over you. . Once you get in the habit of doing this over a radio. you tend to continue doing it anytime you speak over a mic. especially if it is the same mic you use for your radio.
I am guessing it also for the receiver kinda confirms that the line is still on, and not got cut off for any technical reason or something
Thank you for that info, very interesting and sounds totally credible. I wonder why you never see that with Coast Guard or other Marine radio channels, where not stepping on the speaker can be crucial, I don't even hear them using "over" too much anymore on the water.
@@heidikickhouse- As to why over Marine or others.. I don't know.. perhaps it has to do with particular work cultures. It is probably something passed to each person as they hear it often from others. I know that i have heard it a lot on CB and Ham radio over the years, as well over other PA Systems.

In my head, I'm thinking it would be funny for me to add "uuuuuuuhhhhh" every four words or so onto my requests to the launch driver for pickup (from sailboat mooring). Maybe it will catch on... (or maybe I should sleep on it first...).
Omg this is hilarious!!!! I loved this. Stella, I can totally see you getting distracted easily and forgetting the pilots. The worst thing a pilot does is “speaking” so fast and low NOBODY can hear their announcements!!! Love y’all. Safe flights 💚💙

Yes! It should be "aircrafts", and it should be pronounced "aircravedz"... like "beeves" for "beef".
When I hear her say aircrafts. My brain creates like a new plural of plurals hahaha. Like if she’s referring to multiple groups of collections of multiple aircraft which have a certain amount of aircraft in each collection. Like so many many many types & sub categories of aircraft that they have to force an “s” on aircraft.

there is something that flights attendants do that annoy passengers, "excuses me, can I get a glass of water" 1 hr later, "where is the glass of water!!!!"

Great to see the collaboration between the flight crew and cabin crew. At the end of the day, you are all part of the same team and must, not only just do a leg or 2 together, but work together and support each other on building the Brand... the same brand which pays your wages. Nothing beats a good working relationship between two different sections in any job, especially in aviation where the passengers rely on each and every one of you to keep them safe. I flew from Frankfurt Germany to dallas/Fort Worth non-stop overnight, and the flight attendant would wake me up like ever 2 hours. I’d tell her I’d like to sleep and she says ok. 2 hours later, a different flight attendant would wake me up. Excellent entertaining video. Thanks!

My favourite annoying FA question was always (when still in the van on the way to the airport from the hotel) “how long’s the flight time tonight?”... when, like, there’s no way of knowing yet and we haven’t seen the briefing papers or flight plan.... but you still get asked several times by your entire crew as if you’re telepathic 🤓

I have 2... 1) I have been told that the accepted way to convey "While I am currently asleep, I wish to participate in beverage and meal/snack service, even if that means waking me up," is to put your tray table down with NOTHING on it, only to wake up to a trash bag being rustled at the end of the aisle (signifying end of meal service) and nothing on my tray table. 2) When flight attendants use their "soothing" voice, that the general public uses exclusively for children 5 & under, on EVERYONE; especially when saying, "And how are WE doing today?"
What a wonderful surprise to see both of you, Stella and 74 Gear, our resident 747 pilot. This is great, and best wishes to both of you!!
I used to work overnights at ValuJet in ATL in the 90s. We would restock the planes replacing airsickness bags, magazines, pillows etc. Anyway part of my job was to work the first flight of the day on the ramp. We had to drive the shuttle van too. So we would switch days driving and doing ramp work. I can confirm that the flight attendants would get in the van and start chirping away like a flock of birds while the pilots would just sit and grumble rolling their eyes. It made things nice for me because the lively atmosphere kept me awake for the last bit of my shift.
I laughed so many times throughout this and 74's video! All of this is so true to life. And as I kept laughing I started realizing my mood is lightening about all the annoying little things in life, which helps make me feel a little better about all kinds of situations we run into, and that's priceless.
So refreshing to see employees can poke a little fun at each other without getting offended, love you both and all in your industry for the job that you do everyday.

I don't even know you Stella, but after watching the video on his channel and then coming here and watching this video, I am pretty sure you ARE the one on the van that just had a Mountain Dew or got that extra shot of espresso in her Starbucks this morning. I don't think you need a friend to encourage you to be happy or excitable. I am pretty sure the mere hydration of something as simple as water would wake you up and get you going. Last flight I was on was hilarious. Delta flight DCA -> LGA, so pretty short flight. Flight attendants are almost finished the drink service and captain goes "flight attendants please prepare cabin for landing" and one of the flight attendants just goes "nope, we can't, we're serving" lol
I'm surprised Boeing and Airbus don't engineer the newer aircraft to have a lavatory at the rear of the cockpit, especially in this post 9/11 era that we're in.
