@@Anomander5622 How does evolution contradict Hinduism? If anything it fits well with the idea of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, bc evolution literally shows us how all life shares common descent.

@@adityarajan592 Evolution shows that life emerged from certain chemical reactions and random selections. Not 100% certain but very very very high probability. Hinduism talks of vedas which are unauthored. A lot of sects talk of a personal God. Just because some idea is a little bit matching doesnt mean that hinduism is consistent with evolution. Yes, our ancestors did very well in observing the phenomenon around them and we were a great civilisation. But we also have a lot of unscientific things

The reason the academia doesn't associate itself with bharatiya but indians is because of where the money lies. If you have structures that were to control a huge chunk of the money flow, that would change the direction.

I have really great counters on Shree Aanand Ranganathan’s most thoughtful God non existence theory i have huge respect towards him and i support him as an Naastik because he’s questioning he had this consciousness and he might not respect consciousness but this very consciousness is what proves existence of God at very basic, Im not saying consciousness is what only God is, Theres much to say but what i say I respect Ranganathan Ji for using the consciousness of the same supreme God for what it means for, Im putting it in very simple question and ending the comment here the question is why we not only humans but most living beings have feelings have sense of preservation care and protection?? Yet more to include and ask but this very tendency of living beings anywhere in universe to propagate to save ourselves this tendency given us through science originated by god’s will, The very our natural tendency by birth as humans to know what we are on which this darwinian science is also based this came out of our tendency to know what we are this tendency of ours to know what we are and its only exist in humans is another reason why humans are describes as the only species for liberation as God says, Scriptures also explains that other species are put to be made naturally agnostic who do not care why do we exist because there species are made for the respective souls to face there sins to face there karma and Humans as more conscious and the natural curious beings we are created to get liberated from our sins our Karma thats why the Human as species by the method of science so that soul can get liberate from the Human body thats why theres such difference in other & Human species. Why as a human at very basic and essential level we all have same goodness and same true consciousness this is because the soul is no different within us.

Why should I care if other species have religion or not? Anand is just facing a shock from trying to come to terms with the fact that perhaps we are insignificant. The shock would only exist in a framework where you have been thinking for the longest time that you were the most important species on the planet.

Anand's view on religion and morality is so juvenile. Ofcourse from a pure rational material sense, humans are insignificant, just a product of a determinist process, and so on. But in that purely material world, there is also no morality, everything every act that we deem absolutely abhorrent across societies is also neutral.
We can most definitely return to that world again, where we live no different from animals. But for anything else, for any level of society or civilization, or even sustained individual achievement or human excellence to exist, we need larger meaning and a sense of morality, which has always come from some or the other form of transcendental metaphysics. It is indeed true that no civilization has ever existed without religion. We can either begrudgingly disown human consciousness, or embrace it to achieve all the greatness that humanity is capable of.

If we all agreed that 'well being' is a good thing then we can build on what is moral and immoral. We do have a sense of morality which is most likely a result of evolution.
Even if god did exist it wouldn't make morality objective.
