  • Play in HD for best audio! March and April are the times when sakura (cherry blossom) trees bloom, and in Japan entire parks are covered with the pink and white blooms. 'Hanami' is the Japanese tradition of 'viewing the blossoms', and having picnics below the blooms with family, friends and colleagues. This piece is inspired by the sakura, and the swirling notes depict the flurry of flying petals when a breeze catches the blossoms. Enjoy!

Nice! Has that misterioso feel to it in the beginning, and then it becomes pretty eastern... Not a whole lot of melody though. You should work on creating one you like and adding chords to it afterwards, so that you have a clear structure on things.

+Ternaldius haha yes. That was my thought too. But it's difficult to come up with a catchy melody that doesn't sound familiar, and sometimes none come to mind, and I end up with an Impressionistic piece like Debussy :P

+Sound Of Falling Tears (S.O.F.T.) But like, Clair de Lune - that's got a clear melody. And his Gymnopedies do as well. This just feels kind of messy, except for in the beginning, no offence.

+Ternaldius that's true. No offence taken :) I'll try again next time, perhaps I will "improvise" then write down the melody, then write something more substantial around it. Tried doing it once but was not successful... will try again. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Yeah I think writing a melody at least makes you more sure about the structure, for example.
