Grace Fitzpatrick I think Kirstie has said that this has been an issue her whole life. Kirstin/Kristin must register in people's brains as the same word. Kelly was even looking at her cue cards and still misspoke.

Yeah I know they have to do the press for the album and tour but they're only human (Incredibly talented humans, but still) They need to get some good rest. Like can't they just have a week off or something?

Molly Andris Yes they should really plan it on their schedule. I can see now why Avi needed to take a break. He was always on point but he must have been so tired with the multiple performances for the press and everything. God blessed this group.

I could hear him I just wished to hear more of him. Some live performances balance his mic out a bit better.

Carôle Ceres yeah a capella is hard to mic up for, like sometime they beef up Kirsten's mic because they assume she's lead.

Always love seeing them getting their much deserved promotion on a stage like Kelly and Ryan. That being said, anytime they do performances on shows like this, their sound system sounds like shit and they have very little rehearsal time. And it shows. Not blaming PTX. It's just the nature of live television shows that are catering more towards talking than singing.

Matt did a really great job, but I sure do miss that sweet ground-shaking notes from Avi's voice. The bass is kind of lacking :/
Lawrence Lardizabal it’s because sometimes he doesn’t sustain notes like Avi did. Avi is also more of a natural bass with more resenese. And sometimes, Matt doesn’t nail the notes as sharply as studio version. He sometimes just lets it linger. That being said, he’s doing a really great job and has adapted to their songs really well.

I don't think he's as strong of a bass as Avi was where you'd have to worry about your subwoofer blowing. It feels like they punch it up in editing for their music videos which makes him sound much softer in live performances.
Try it with headphones or good speakers. I can actually hear him pretty good with either :)
Yes, headphones made a difference but still wasn't great. My feeling on this performance anyway, is that the bass is an accompaniment vs. a driver.
The thing is that is a bass but he cant hit as low notes as avi can so avi can really belt out low notes but Matt is true performer he makes up for it for being able to performed and blend with them when he harmonizes with them when not singing bass in my opinion his voice blends better when he harmonizes with them non bass harmony if that makes sense but yeah Matt's bass range is limited which sucks but it is what it is
I love Pentatonix to death but hearing a lot of pitchy vocals and flat notes in this...

Sarah Rosa well you got her name wrong both times and she had said on her Instagram story she was getting lip fillers to fix her side mouth because it's an unhealthy singing habit. They can come out when she wants to take them out. I don't know what you mean by too much when that's all she did the rest of her face is makeup and what gives you the right to tell people how to look. She was put in this earth to do her thing not make you happy by the way she looks. Technically she doesn't owe you good music or any music because she doesn't have to be in pentatonix or do solo stuff for you.

Not the same at all without Avi Kaplan. Not even close. This bass guy has less then half the talent of Avi. Avi is a classically trained singer and could sing Baritone as well. Haven't bought a thing with this new group since Avi left and the reason he left is the rest of the group was to greedy. He just wanted more time at home with his family and a less aggressive schedule. Greed destroyed this group. Time to go to singles career and see what they can do. Just saying. Still listen to their old stuff as I have all their cd's. Too bad😔😔

While I agree that Matt is definitely not Avis Equal, I do believe he’s doing okay. The thing with matt is he’s not holding notes and resenating the same as Avi did to fill up that empty space. He hits his note and kind of backs out to early. Kevin usually ends up using a lot of TK-Ks and fills to fill up the white noise that Avi was usually able to cover up. Instead of Kevin being able to be more musical with his beatboxing, he has to be more invested into his technicality(Tk-Ks and faster beatboxing) instead of being able to do hollow clops, sirens, throat bass etc like he could in the past with Avi.
