I have been to this island twice. It is really the best getaway from the city life. The seafood (especially uni) was super fresh and the walks are amazing. Both times I stayed in this hotel called Hana Rebun (walkable from Ferry Terminal) and it was fantastic! They knew we are foreigners and even assigned a waitress to us that can speak English so she could help explain the dishes to us and help us in organizing walks. It was a more expensive hotel but definitely worth it! The view of Rishiri Island from the onsen will take your breath away. Take a car over or rent one there will make visiting the places around the island really more convenient.
@@walkingcat2993 Yes. The first time we took a train from Sapporo to Wakkanai and then took the ferry to Rebun. We were suppose to stay at Rebun for 2 nights but the train from Sapporo was delayed for more than 3 hours due to a track fault and we had to cancel the first night because we would not be able to catch the Ferry to Rebun. The hotel Hana Rebun was very understanding and allowed us to cancel the reservation for that night and even gave us a room upgrade when we finally arrived the next day. As we could only spend night in Rebun on our first time there, we went back to Rebun again the next year and brought my family along and we stayed at Hana Rebun again. This time we also took our rented car over from mainland to the island and it was a pleasure to drive around Rebun to visit the sights. Everyone loved the island and wanted to go back again.
I appreciate the way you lead us into experiencing your world. Thanks so much for these wonderful trips!
