If I am writing an anecdote during pervasive writing, do I have to write from the perspective of myself or can I write from the perspective of someone else to make it more convincing? For example, if I were writing about children needing to sleep and I am writing an anecdote, can I pretend to be a teacher speaking during my anecdote to make myself seem more credible and convincing?
I think the examiners really like it if you take on a role of a character - in my mocks we had a question where we had to speak to a local community's council, and I made reference to an imaginary event that had happened in the community. Taking on that role boosted my marks, so definitely do that if appropriate to the question. (I am not an English teacher though obviously)

In Paper 2? Paper 2 is a 1 hour 45 minute exam. In Section A, students are given two non-fiction extracts from two different centuries where writers present their viewpoints on a particular topic. One is always from the 19th century, and the other from the 20th or 21st century. There are 4 questions to answer on these extracts, following the pattern explained in my Language guide. In Section B, students are then asked to produce their own piece of extended writing presenting a viewpoint. They might be asked to write a letter, speech, leaflet, article of essay.
