I watched this thinking that it had just been uploaded. I'm 2 years late but I happen to be in need of these exercises. So thank you kindly for that. Hopefully you have a video on knee exercises. I'm in need of those too. So I may look back on videos that you've already uploaded. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this. I had an injury to my right ankle when I was younger, I'm in my 30s now and when I do certain poses in yoga like downward doggy more particularly I feel pain in my ankle joint so I modify by doing something else like childs/puppy pose. How many repetitions of each of the exercises you showed would you recommend and how often would you suggest this should be practised per week? Thanks
Great exercises! I already do some of these combined but will try the ones I haven't 😊 specific exercise combined with barefoot walking are making me feet feel so strong! Many thanks
Toe spreading? Is this good for running? I assume it should give an advantage for technical uphills on trails, at least with huraches or barefoot, I'm I right?
Enric Martinez I can’t stay if it will directly help you while running but it is great for runners to keep these muscles supple, otherwise the feet become bound up and become less mobile which then effects the ankles and or knees.
TheYogiMatt Indeed, hence my interest. I knew one of the exercises, the ABC. I’m definitely going to add all 4 to my routines. Great channel, subscribed
My next video will be specific to the arches, but I have a full practice on www.theyogimatt.com/hips that goes over lifting the arches throughout and repeats the actions in various postures. I highly recommend that. But in short yes the exercises over time can help the muscles that support the arch of your food, however you will need to learn how to apply them specific to standing, then waking.
@@TheYogiMatt I'm looking forward to your strengthening arches video too. If it's done, would you please link it for us both? I'm eager to browse through your channels videos.
Do animals perform special feet and ankle exercises? I suspect that the most important exercise of them all is barefoot walking and running over uneven surfaces. Something which most humans, quite embarrassingly, forgot how to do. Other than that, I have to agree, playing with your feet and sucking on your toes are pretty fun activities for babies and yoga practitioners alike. ;)

Hi Matt, would these exercises be helpful for strengthening the arches as well?
