Thanks for posting, it's my chance to finally see this movie that i ve been lookin for for years here in France, just got the soundtrack which is a killer. So bad Go Go never get the credit that it deserve, still remember having seen Trouble Funk in 1986 in Paris and later Chuck Brown as well. WOW the energy was so powerfull, some of the best concert i've ever seen. Go Go is number 1 in my book Peace
Thanks for posting this movie! I am in this movie, the left handed bass player with Redds and the Boys. We are the 1st group to perform live in the movie. Wow! 1985! Almost 30 years ago, still have that bass!
Thanks for contributing to Go Go...! As a late-teenage, Scottish boy, I found this every bit as vital as the hip hop back then. I'm sorry you guys didn't make it big, you certainly deserved it!
Thanks for posting the movie. My friend Reginald Daughtry aka Lil' Beats had a leading role in this movie. He's still making music; doing his thing. Much love and respect to all of my Go Go Music Family. R.I.P. to so many who have passed.... Chuck Brown, Lil' Benny, Glenn Ellis, Ivan Goff, Kent Wood, Byron "BJ" Jackson, James Michael Hughes.....
Here's a revised version of your comment: I’ve been searching everywhere for this movie and couldn't find it. Thank you for posting it; it brings back so many good memories.
Me and my girlfriends were in this movie. North East , 8th and H and Coliseum area. It was banned because of a case that had to do with a woman who was assaulted. We were all in Junior High then. Always have been a GO GO Fanatic.......
I saw this at Landover Mall theaters and even tho I knew then it was a little off, I do remember having a ball dancing in the theater.. Chuck Brown #Unsung was awesome.
Me too, I lived up the street from Max Kidd in Fort Lincoln, he had many neighborhood kids as extras. RIP Mr. Kidd, 3-15-17 the Russell Simmons of GO-GO
I was 8 when this movie came out. I looked up the cast. RIP Lyndah Gravatt aka Nurse Shades. The Queen deserved a better role than to be assaulted and killed. Lyndah Gravatt was an active #broadwayactress #RipLyndahGravatt
I've looked for this movie for years and could not find a VHS(now DVD) anywhere. I had no idea the name of the film was changed from Good to Go to Short Fuse. Thanks for posting this film.
Thanks for uploading; i have been searching for this for nearly 35 years!!!! We got the soundtrack in 86; but thr movie never made it to Australia Sadly
I remember when I was a senior at Ellington filming in this movie. A lot of content that they filmed, was left out when they did the editing. I was only 17 years old. In the shooting scene I wasn't allowed to hold a gun because my age even though it was unloaded. It was a nice experience though. If I remember corect, it took around 6 weeks for them to do the whole movie.
Searched for this video after it was profiled in TV One's Unsung program about Chuck Brown. This film, in fact, was controversial in its day for what some felt was an unfair and inaccurate portrayal of the District. That being said, it is a rather great time capsule of 80s DC.
All of the show scene were shot at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Trying to be Mckinley High School. Most of the part are kids from Duke Ellington.
No offense to anybody but they should of used people from DC instead of these NY actors or wherever they're from. Washington has its own style and slang that would of made this film all the more better had they taken that into consideration. other than that I give the movie 5 1/2 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
They did use some people from DC in the smaller roles. Most of the School scene where done at Duke Ellington. I went to school there at the time they cast some of the parts with kids and a few teachers from the school.
Yep. I was also an extra in this movie. You'll see me in the checkered shirt walking left to right at 1 hour 3 minutes 51 seconds (best to cue up around 48 seconds). Wow, I had dark hair back then... Thanks for posting.
i saw a documentary once that was a really good look at 80s go go. Also theres the movie about Cool Disco Dan which touches on it and interviews a lot of old dc cats
I had the opportunity to buy the VHS in 1989 in Karlshrue where the US army had a base, I was the in the French one but I had spent all my money for a pair of Jordan and I had just bought the LP and I love it !! I was waiting for that !! I was found of Gogo in the 80's so I dropped some lyrics on a Chuck Brown masterpiece to say my enthusiasm about it, soundcloud.com/neolivier-eye-on/gogoaskom-cba-backitonup-chuck-brown-tribute-rip
I had no idea the film was banned in the US and that was what prompted the name change of the movie. I thought the movie had a lot to say and it was a shame most people never saw the film.

When DC was Chocolate City💯
Decades later and I’m still angry that they didn’t highlight Chuck more than that. I was completely shocked when I saw Good To Go 30 yrs ago as a kid.
Good point. 'Money' was jamming though.
Thanks for uploading; i have been searching for this for nearly 35 years!!!!

Them love boat PCP smokers were actually a depiction of the 8th and H crew from NE.

Only time Art's hair is straight black and not those golden curls.
This was a chance MISSED to do a REAL GO-GO film,..instead it was in the wrong hands and turned out to be a NON GO-GO film
i saw a documentary once that was a really good look at 80s go go. Also theres the movie about Cool Disco Dan which touches on it and interviews a lot of old dc cats
The Script for this movie was probably about 5 pages long if that... hence the reason it *Sucked So Bad!*

Wow. I remembered this movie was banned in America. That's why they changed the name. It was a controversial reality.
I had no idea the film was banned in the US and that was what prompted the name change of the movie. I thought the movie had a lot to say and it was a shame most people never saw the film.
America doesn't ban movies.
