Very lovely that you all do this! One suggestion if I may say it, perhaps narrate Guru Sahib’s words in third person instead of first person. By this I mean, instead of showing Guru Sahib (Guru Har Rai in this instance) and a voice which is coming from them, it would be more appropriate to show Guru Sahib and then have a voice say “and then Guru Sahib said…” Great service you all are doing, I thought I’d add in a little bit of wisdom shared to me, if of course you all allow Many thanks Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
Wahiguru ji ka Khalsa Wahiguru ji ki Fateh Elsewhere on this page we've had a similar discussion, please allow me to reproduce that sentiment here. It's such an interesting conversation. Some people have an issue with the Gurus' images and voices being used. And yet if you think about it, our faith is based on each one of us becoming the voice and image of Guru Sahib. Taking Amrit, wearing the 5 K's - we become the image of the Guru ourselves. Repeating Gurbani - we become the voice of the Guru ourselves. The need of the day is to impress children with the beautiful and inspiring stories from Sikh history. While I can understand that we would not have a human being act as a Guru in a movie, when it comes to animation - we have a lot of freedom. These characters are done respectfully. In any form of story-telling - someone is recounting what the Guru said. We see no problem with doing it this way. Some of the background to this particular story is that the audio was created 10 years ago. From then until now we have made a lot of effort to get deeper into research and authentication of Sikh history. This story we still stand behind, but moving forward we are making a real point of delivering the most authentic understanding of Sikh history (often times original sources are at odds with modern day understanding of history, and different sources have different versions etc.) to the best of our ability. None of the animations have features Guru's movements. Older audios like this being made into animation would include a voice for Gurus Sahiban. For future stories the conversation is this: We have heard from children that they are more engaged with a story from SikhNet, even if it's longer in length, because the amount of voices and sound effects create a 'world building' effect. It is more stimulating and more immersive for the young minds. This stimulation, and therefor deeper impression being made on their lively imaginations, is the result of a conscious effort to have the narrator speak as little as possible. On the other hand there are stories which may also be high quality, with deep history and lots of effects, yet the narrator is doing all the speaking... and the children find it to be more of a lecture than an experience. In this case the intended impact will likely be softened in some way. Now that we are animating more and more of our audios it is clear it rubs some people wrong and this will be absolutely included in our internal discussions. We deeply appreciate your understanding and your suggestion to have Guru's guidance with hukam... for this is a service for Guru Roop Piare Sadh Sangat.
@@SikhNet Thank you very much for your thorough message. I see your various points, and understand many of them. One thing however! Yes, we are meant to be the form of the Guru, that is one of their many gifts upon us. However, we can never be the Guru. With this understanding and humility, we blossom forth further, as opposed to attempting to reach their status internally and not having that modesty from within. With this being said, this comes back to the 1st person and 3rd person point of view conversation. Your team is doing an incredible job, but for some reason there is seemingly always room for improvement, and this is yet another gift from the creator! Please forgive me for anything wrong I have said, and again many many thanks. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
Hmm...another version is that whilst the boys were praying, GuruSahib asked one of his followers to go and poke each of them in the knee with a pin, and see how they react. Ram Rai flinched when poked and displayed pain with the needle in his knee, whereas Guru HarKrishan remained totally unaffected by the needle being inserted fully in his knee.

Its great to see your passion in spreading the word but you'd NEVER animate Satguru ji in these videos. They can be depicted with still images but not in motion. This is the reason you didn't see guru gobind Singh ji's image in motion in the famous movie chaar sahibzade. Its a humble request, please stop showing our guru as cartoon characters and preserve the respect by using still images instead.
I see that in this video by the drawings, Jesus and Prophet Mohammad are indicated and by the title there seems to be the intentions of showing someone above the others. Please don’t. Please respect Jesus and Prophet Mohammed, don’t try to belittle them.
Sikhi should focus on the Adi Granth and its teachings, and incorporate these into our lives ie. Definition of Simrsn. With the greatest of respect & love this is just a made up story, attributing super powers to the Guru lineage. A Sikh does not believe in such nonsense, and acknowledges the divine laws of Waheguru. All people are subject to his order. Ie. Levitation?? A Guru or learned Sikh would not practice such ‘ Suoerpowers’ even if they could. Video well made though SSS & Respect to you all
Thank you for your solicitation. The story features a greatly condensed summary of miracles performed by Baba Ram Rai in the ruler court of the time: www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/72_Miracles_By_Baba_Ram_Rai The message of the story is that his younger brother became Guru because he did not engage in such powers, instead his powers were kindness and compassion which are based on love. Our hope is that children will understand that whatever power and talent they may have, kindness and compassion are greater.
Sakhees and stories occurred after the SGGS was handed down to us by our 10th Guru ji. We were told to believe in no other stories other than the Naam in SGGS. Why add credence to 3rd party narrations that have no basis or proof as being true? If one wishes to get comfort and learning from these 3rd party accounts one has every right to do so, but I would respectfully suggest they have no place for a practicing Sikh. There’s plenty in our SGGS to get our heads around and practice in the real world, don’t you think?
