Start as Chichimeca, the animist migratory tribe in Northern mexico. Then migrate to northeast canada. Reform off the British, and ally portugal. Invade iceland with a no cb. Embrace icelandic identity to become iceland and move capital to europe. Now you make Norse High American Iceland in about 1520.
But I guess the Reformprogress is stored in some deeper game files and is only visualized in the papal interface... so i guess the Reformation would still trigger (if then there are still enough catholics left)
@@thestudentYT I have done it in the VU mod. Unfortunately unlike base game, in patch 1.35 of VU, catholic countries don't convert to orthodox after the pentarchy event. So the reformation still fired.
Based on the high MTTH, could you theoretically prevent or postpone the reformation until the 1700s through reducing the number of Catholic tags? Would a one tag in Europe potentially prevent the reformation altogether?
Yes if you kill every catholic before the reform desire hits 100% and then move your capital outside of europe(if you are Catholic) then you can prevent it totally
Had a situation, when first center of reformation spawned in OPM, but religion of the country didn't switch, or they switched back to catholic. Had to wait 25 years for religious zeal to get away, meanwhile that center converted a lot.
great explanation, thanks! i ve got some questions on the religious league war: how can i push that either as catholic or protestant potential leader? so far sometimes it occurs and sometimes not.
If you want it to trigger than force some electors to become Protestant or Reformed and wait until 1550. If you want to have an actual war then it is a little bit more difficult if you are on the catholic side because the AI will only declare the war if they think that they will win... so you need to look as weak as possible or jusr have to wait 30 years (then you automatically win) And if you are on the protestant side just become the strongest in the league (military strengh matters but also prestige I think and some other modifiers) and declare on the emperor with the cb that you get if you are the leader. If you want to prevent them just make sure that no elector is Protestant or reformed (which is also done by dismantleling the HRE btw)
it could be worth making a video on the council of Trent/a guide on the catholic faith in the game, there are some details the wiki doesn't explain and people don't talk about in a way that can be found with a google search (as an example, it doesn't explain if you can complete both paths of the council of Trent in the same game or if each choice blocks the others from that same part)
@@thestudentYT still could be worth making a guide for stuff like catholic and reformed or protestant (if nothing else, then to give people an idea of what they would be missing out on and tips that could make things somewhat easier for you)
You spoke of 3 ways that reform desire could be gained, but the video shows only 2 and cuts off in the middle of the second one anyways? Did you have to cut something out?
Can you test out an easy way to turn england to a pirate republic (via cornwall event) the problem is that it takes till 1500 to vassel feed cornwall and annex it. However if you release some other vassels as england and turn on scoutage it should be a better way to turn england to pirate.

But why?
@@thestudentYT 4 the memes, of course.
Oh and I like seeing little guys wearing jaguar fur with spears standing around in Europe
Thanks for the idea of my next playthrough, I guess!

What happens if you disable the papacy through missions (like the pentarchy event for byz) before the reformation spawns?
That might be something for a possible future Catholizism/Orthodox Guide :)

Okay so that proves that the Reform desire is not tied to the papacy itself
@@thestudentYTI believe you can see the reform desire in the religion screen of your country as well, not only in the papal screen.
Everything you need to know about the reformation: Don't (staying Catholic is more OP 99% of the time).
One of these complete guide vids for the mandate of heaven would be awesome!
What’s the music called between the sections
3:40 as an example

Yes, a lot of timelapses with few Catholic tags show that they never spawn the reformation

I think that can happen with theocracies, they just can’t convert their religion so unless rebels force them they won’t do it.
Nice 🎉 i have waited for it

Are you planning to make a vid on the league wars i the future ?
I feel like the league wars are pretty self explainatory so I didn't plan on doing it to be honest

Each choice blocks the counterpart...

I said 3 ways because 1. Is the Base of 0.2% yearly 2. Are the Events for Catholic Nations and 3. Are thr Heretic Rebells that I showed on Scotland
