- This is how the first massive swell of 2018 was lived in Barra de la Cruz. On April 25 and 26 we took our DRONE and cameras, we joined the band and we decided to remember this epic surf session, where the quality of this wave is noted, cataloged as the perfect classic wave. If you practice surfing and you like to run new waves, without a doubt the waves of Barra de la Cruz will enchant you. Until the next swell. (There will be part 2 of this video).
Barra de la Cruz is a town of peasants, fishermen, workers and SURFERS. Located in the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in the Municipality of Santiago Astata, in the State of Oaxaca, it was declared as a population center in the month of June of the year 1965 through a decree of the Government of the State of Oaxaca.
Barra de la Cruz has an approximate population of 1100 inhabitants, is located 20 meters above sea level and approximately 30 minutes from the Integrally Planned Center of Bahias de Huatulco. Barra de la Cruz has established itself as a destination for surfing, for having a beach with the perfect wave according to surfers who practice this sport. The community has a great natural and cultural wealth that could be offered as a tourist attraction; its festivals and traditions, knowledge of herbalism, mangroves, lagoons, banana trees, coconut trees, among others.
In this video we show you how the first swell of 2018 was lived. Very good waves, good bombs as the SURFER community says.

The sand is back!love that wave soo much. My 2008 trip was magical. A week straight of 8 to 10 foot faced world class barreling rights. Got triple barreled on 1 wave.
