    Holy fuck this band never ceases to amaze me. This track is absolutely incredible. They've matured so much as musicians. I've never been more proud to be a fan of something. Damn revolutionary. Reverence is gold.

      Everything about this song is powerful, especially those orchestrated strings! My only real gripe about it is that it's too short and doesn't seem to alternate that much. Oh, and that sudden 2 seconds silence around the 3 minute mark is an ugly blemish on this otherwise beautiful track.

    I ve been a fan of Parkway drive since 2007 , now i'm 26 years old , and i never felt so much good change in their music until this album , finally some effort in the lyrics and we can finally enjoy the clean version of Winston's voice , the band is stepping from their comfort zone and change has to be made , and for the people wondering about the killing with smile or deep blue vibes , you can go back and listen to them again , no need to complain .

    "This is the first song we wrote for the record and it came pretty quick. It took on a lot of incarnations as well. This one is about being me. It’s a weird thing to say but we’ve been doing this for so long and it’s grown more and more and in that people get a sense that they know what you should and shouldn’t be doing. Like when something new comes into the world and they go to you ‘fuck you, you should be doing this’. No offence, but you know fuck all about me. This is the song where I basically say this is all really fucking different." served by the man himself, Winston.

    This song is for you all judging Parkway Drive, or just in this case, missjudging.
    It's a message straight to the haters, they know that they changed throught the years a lot better that you think you do, they evolved their sound because they are now facing different points of view in their current life and got into new stuff of any kind, but if they want to bash your ass they still can.
    And well... yeah, it must hurt like hell admitting how much you've just missjudged ;)
    (This album is absolutely insane, love every second of it, even if i'm a fan from KWAS and i saw them live three times i appreciate what they are doing 'cause they are doing it amazingly!!)

    • @huberteichson8304
      @huberteichson8304 6 лет назад +4

      Why do you feel a need to defend them?

    • @federicobosio3543
      @federicobosio3543 6 лет назад

      because a lot of people are raging about their change in style, they should just appreciate their work 'cause it's awesome
      is not soft, is not dad rock, it's parkway

    • @huberteichson8304
      @huberteichson8304 6 лет назад +1

      Why should they do that? Do they have a legal obligation to do so? or is a hidden threat from your side, "they should like it, or else...". You might think they are awesome but that doesn't mean that anyone else does that. I don't like them, i want my parkway drive to be my gym music, i wanna get angry and hateful and ready to murder/rape/assult someone when i hear their music, with is new album i don't, too many slow parts and too basic of a music, same drum patter thoughout most of the songs.
      I don't understand why people need to defend the music, if you like it, then listen to it. You shouldn't have any objections or any reason to comment. Are you listening to music for your own sake or for other sake? Do you have such a lacking of personality that you need to have music to be part of you since you are so shallow and hollow without it? That's the only reason i could see someone defend music. To other people. Unknown and random people....

    • @federicobosio3543
      @federicobosio3543 6 лет назад

      I'm defending parkway drive as a band, not their music
      I just don't get the fact that people call them sellout or whatever it is cause of their change in style
      Parkway drive is made of beautiful musicians, nice personality and passion, i'll dig anything they'll release cause it will always siund parkway to me
      If you want some gym music that makes you want to kill anybody in sight check out Breakdown of Sanity (Mirrors 2011) and August Burns Red (Constellation 2009) if you haven't yet, these are masterpieces
      Ps. You don't need to taunt me, it's such an immature thing to do, specially on the internet

    This band came from a city where they would worked as dishwashers or shop assistants in the small shop but they risked and became one of the biggest metalcore bands in the music industry. They went to the States without having booked shows, slept under the moon light. But I suppose it was worth it.

Songs like "Shadow Boxing" tasty riffs and amazing build; "In blood" Just the song's presence is intense; "Wishing Well" just the anger expressed is stellar. So go into it a few times with an open mind. Or just toke 'till its awesome!

    We get it. "It's not parkway. They sold out. It's not the same sound" you don't have to listen to this. The old albums are always going to be there. If you can't support a band when they try to make a change don't call yourself a "true fan"

      @Doom_and_Gloom6661 6 лет назад +6

      swifty I get it. I really do. Because I used to be the same way. I can predict what you'll say about my response to that because it's how I would respond. But you can't compare murder to changing your sound musically. It's all based on the context of the situation. Now save your super well thought out reply that's gonna shut me up and put me in my place and tell me this. When it comes to a band, speaking in the context of changing their sound after sticking to the same thing for such a long time, not in the same context as murder , you can't be open minded enough to say "okay. You're tired of doing the same thing over and over again, it's gotten boring to do and you want to change it up and try something new. I support you in your effort to try new things" or at least try an understand why they did change their sound? Now I wouldn't say "everything's cool" if my parents committed murder but forgive me if I can't compare murder and changing your sound on the same level of "severeness" for lack of a better word.

    • @bechillin1234
      @bechillin1234 6 лет назад +1

      Heres the last point I want to make really....If they wanna do their thing even after the fans begging them to go back then thats fine...But do everyone a favor and change their name to something else... It would even help new fans distuinguish the difference in the style. just simply let a great band rest in piece instead of dragging the name in the muddd...

    I found this album way better and enjoyable than Ire, a great change for me even I love the older stuff but like some people are saying, you get bored of playing the same shit over and over. Good changes brings a new musical aspect and Parkway Drive find a great way of doing it, something other bands have failed doing it now days. Humble opinion.

    You can't follow only one genre as a musician/band. Many bands change their style over the years but the thing is: only parkway drive changed but still sounds so amazing!

    They’ve done all they can really do in metalcore, they’re getting older now, in their 30s, Married, about to have kids etc, this song sums up them progressing.

    So i've never really liked Parkway Drive, everyone has always shown them so much love but I just have never been able to get into their music. But this song is seriously kick ass. I really dig it. This may be the first song I've heard of theirs that makes me want to check out the rest of the album lol.

    FUCKING LOVE LOVE LOVE this album, as ive got older I'm kind of harder to impress but trivium and parkway just seem to constantly maturing without losing their core sound, they got to proud of reverence, its a killer of an album

    If you can’t evolve your music taste that’s fine. There are plenty of other generic metalcore bands doing generic metalcore things and being boring somewhere else.
    So run along kids, the adults are enjoying progression.

    • @kylewackerman3670
      @kylewackerman3670 6 лет назад +3

      M4RCi92 literally isn’t even fanboyism. I just don’t cry like a baby if it’s not metalcore like most of you. And thats because I have a broad taste. Hence why it’s called progression and not expecting the same shit all the time.
      Elitism? Yeah maybe. But it’s not my fault you listen to shit music and think bands owe you something.
      So yeah, jog on twat.

    • @M4RCi92
      @M4RCi92 6 лет назад

      Progression means going forward, not creating Frankenstein's monsters and calling them songs. The problem is not that it's not metalcore - it's that this is a turd. Want to hear a band that progressed? Hundredth.

    • @kylewackerman3670
      @kylewackerman3670 6 лет назад

      M4RCi92 know a band that has progressed? Literally any band that’s not ‘core’.
      Yawn.

    • @M4RCi92
      @M4RCi92 6 лет назад

      Elitist. I don't give a fuck if a band's "core" or not. The music's good, I'm listening, the music's shit, I'm not.

      "Generic metalcore", that's the point. The first four PWD's albums weren't generic metalcore. There weren't other bands sounding like them. Anyway I love this song
