I am really sceptic if it comes to new "occult black metal" albums nowadays - a lot of it sounds just too similar or like bad copies of better bands. But i always come back to this album since it's release. Theres something about the atmosphere thats kinda different compared to other new albums. It doesn't feel like BM somehow. Much more levitating, not too heavy, not even brutal. It's like a silk blanket that flatters your mind. You know its black metal, but it feels like more. And that qualifies good music.
This is the purest evidence of the evolving of the members, they wanted to take their expressions beyond of the orthodox generic ideology of Black Metal and they pierced it creating just a rich album which has a golden structure, daring the senses of the mind to "dance" with the mystery on every verse. "Knowledge of the heart, lead us beyond the absence."
Rapaz...é incrível o patamar que o Black Metal pode chegar, são níveis inimagináveis de escuridão e espiritualidade! Is incredible the forces that Black Metal can reach, are unimaginable levels of darkness and spirituality!
@@maxh4651 You're right. This album made me a fan forever. Inferno cannot betray, their music does not come from the urge to make money, it is something coming from the heart and soul, thats why this is so different, magical and unlike anything else. The previous album is also amazing. But the last one - Paradeigma, I listened over a hundred times from start to finish, I consider Paradeigma the best album of all genres because of the uniqueness of the sound and the approach to recording. Its never boring. I also have the vinyls of these albums, with the exception of Gnosis Kardias, and I'm looking forward to re-release it.
@@Shuxer59 i agree that paradeigma is a total masterpiece. Inferno seems to approach their music like i imagine all the greatest artists throughout history did with their own respective work. It really transcends black metal and becomes something that seems like an important accomplishment/milestone for humanity

Excelente álbum, diferenciado com passagens atmosféricas e com uma espécie de coral satânico na versão metal pesado Pink Floyd com as distorções dos riffs do Black Metal.
I've seen the band performing live during a gig in Malaysia two years ago before the pandemic hits. It was ethereal! Looking forward to see them performing again.
Is it possible to be atonal and not dissonant? ( At least dissonances are used in very special and sparingly way.) That impression fills me with fascination! Creative, interesting, innovative, unique... great bm music and a piece of art!
Does anyone know of any other bands and albums that sound like this particular album: cavernous drums and vocals, barely audible chants and synths buried in the mix, dissonant chords in places and tremendously eerie atmosphere. I have gone through Inferno's entire discography and only this album (and to a lesser extent the previous one) sound like this. I love black metal and have been listening to it for many years, however this album has an atmosphere that I haven't really heard anywhere else.
These might not all be what you're after, but worth a try: Wormlust - The Feral Wisdom Rebirth of Nefast - Tabernaculum Slidhr - The Futile Fires of Man Nocternity - Onyx Turia - Degen van Licht Earth and Pillars - Earth II
@@Teo-gm6yl read what other listeners said how unique this album is. The album is fine and well composed but since there are lots of 80's influences present I wouldn't glorify it.
Are there any bands that sound like this remotely? Ever since hearing this and Omniabsence they have both ruined all bands for me. They are too great. Any recommendations to this kind of sound? Would be greatly appreciated.
This might not sound very similar like inferno, but for me lithuanian band Nahash with their Daath album(especially the 2 first songs and their live performances) is the definition of occult black metal
I just posted the exact same question. I wish I had seen yours first. This is utterly unlike any other album I have heard, and the rest of their discography bar the previous album (to some extent) sound remotely like this.
How could languid black metal sunken in post-rock be any good or original? This sounds like an uninspired mix between Alcest and Shining, and none of these bands were ever so good to begin with.
I despise Alcest, but I do like some of Shining. This sounds absolutely nothing like either if those bands. The atmosphere of this album is on another level.

you are correct!
Blutroth very well said
You are correct and exactly why I don't have any use for it.
true ! smoked few bongs, and said to my self : woah! zero calorie black metal. great album
Lamech agree about this album. You ever listen to Cult of Fire? It’s why I like them a lot.
Really Great work by Inferno.I think their top till now. Thanks to Inferno Horde for invite me for the vocal lines. All the best for the future i wish.

Im digging it.. Kind of mellow... The more i listen to black metal the more i like it.. Its changed so much from the 80s and is constantly evolving 🤘😈
Amazing band, fucking rifff, my respect Acherontas V. Priest and Adramelech..

One of their finest releases to date.

Coming late to the show but man, this is an awesome album! Quite a lot of thought in composition and clever use of effects/noises.

Try NEDXXX or Deathspell Omega, Teitanblood. Not totally same, but you might like tha too.
These might not all be what you're after, but worth a try:
Wormlust - The Feral Wisdom
Rebirth of Nefast - Tabernaculum
Slidhr - The Futile Fires of Man

Try Acherontas
Pls try Haunter Sacramental Death Qualia. AMAZING album
Acherontas, Ascension, Barshasketh, Mare Cognitum, Nightbringer, Skáphe, Wormlust
Aah the unreadable logo era of inferno. Happens to be my favourite era actually
Niceeeeeee
Very Good, reminds me of Akercocke
Yes. Esp the song final glance before departing
Have you guys maybe listened to 80's bands like Killing Joke, Joy Division, Fields of the Nephilim, Dead Can Dance, The Cure or even Sonic Youth?
Yeah why you ask
