I remember a radio station in Houston (102.9 the Planet) playing the “everything’s fine!” part in one of their promos as an example of what you WOULDN’T hear on their airwaves (they were a wussier alternative to 107.5 the Buzz-more Jewel, no Tool). Today, they’re long gone and Tracy is still making music; now who’s “not on this Planet?”
Oh, I remember The Planet, didn't they start out with no DJ too? That was another thing they mentioned in those promos, you wouldn't hear DJs talking over songs
@@Travelinmatt1976these days most radio stations start without DJs and add them in gradually. But one they added got fired for announcing that the Spice Girls had died in a plane crash. It was, however, also the station that broke the news of Michael Hutchence’s tragically true passing to me one late night.
This sounds fresh as hell to me in 2018. I also realise my own music is more side-by-side with this style than anything from now. Guitar that bites you in the ass and a voice that rips its own lungs out for you to hear what it's saying. Perfection.
I found out about her from Rolling Stone magazine, and thankfully, I haven’t given away or disposed of that magazine years later so I can read about her talent all over again. The original reason for posting was that I wanted to know every single thing that I could about this video, it is artistically very interesting and not boring at all
Whenever I am having a sh1tty day in my semi stuck in traffic I sing this song screaming out loud ‘I am loosing my mind everything is fine!’ The 90s were awesome.
Or when you remember vibing to the song as a young woman who ran off across the country, then as a middle aged woman, loses mother and tuns back home. Hits different now.
I guess I didn't have a TV in the 90s, somehow I never watched this video. After hearing this song on Sirius yesterday (after so many years) in my car I said to myself I have to check this out on RUclips. First version up was the "other" (2nd release). Not bad. Good to hear again. Read the comments, learned there was an original version so I searched and found this one. This one is "deeper." I like it better. Now onto more Bonham today! Does anyone know if she toured before the Pandemic and if she intends to do so after it finally leaves us?
Loved (and still do) this song so much growing up as an angsty teenager in the 90's. Didn't realize there were two different Music Videos for this song. Watched both. This one is farrr superior to the other. In fact, one of the best concept music videos of the 90's, IMHO. Which is saying a lot 💜
Yeah, it hit me that that's what homes in my childhood looked like, and I'm just shy of 40. The furniture and the TV still existed in friends' homes in 1996, when this song came out.
Feel sick to my stomach when I listen to this and think about my sister in college. I hope to god her saying she's really happy is not lies so everyone will sleep well at night.
I remember watching this video on 120 Minutes when it came out, and was surprised to see a second version all these years later. Weird, because this one is incredibly meaningful. Daughter screaming about her feelings on the tv, mom drowning her out with the vacuum, then clicking her off for a home shopping channel. And seemimgly in one take (or seamlessly edited!) Really well done!
Yes they do! There is no better music than what was created in the 90s, hands down! So relieved to have grown up & influenced during that time period 🤘🏻❤️✌🏻❤️🙏🏼 Could you imagine being a teen today? 🤦🏼♀️😂
Same here, I totally forgot about this song & just seen a tiny clip of this video in another unrelated video & came to listen....It makes me wanna go back so bad. The 70's,80's,90's & even the early 2000's wasn't bad.
I feel like screaming along with her. The feeling of being on your own but excited at the same time but scared. This was great in 1996 but even better today.
First time I heard this song I was a few years into what would become a 20-year estrangement from my parents that ended with a life-or-limb hit-and-run accident. I'll always keep this song close to my heart. "I'm bleeding to death - everything's fine! I miss you. I love you."
The "other version" you speak of was supposed to be released in the UK only. For some reason the original went missing and this other, sub standard one rose to the top. It's killing me. Thanks for your response.
One of my faves since I was a teen and first heard her music, love it all!!!✌😊🙏❤ I still have the cassette papers w lyrics to this song, Bulldog, Sharks Can't Sleep, etc!
Thats Ever been told un accordance. I sang thus 3m2 NY mom karaoke 2 nt noon when u was young....she didn't hear it,but I found myself more aligned with it than even back then. Ty 4 ur art of heart!!!!!!!!
Mother, mother, how's the family? I'm just calling to say hello How's the weather? How's my father? Am I lonely? Heavens know Mother, mother, are you listening? Just a phone call to ease your mind Life is perfect, never better Distance making the heart grow fond When you sent me off to see the world Were you scared that I might get hurt? Would I try a little tobacco? Would I keep on hiking up my skirt? I'm hungry, I'm dirty I'm losing my mind, everything's fine I'm freezing, I'm starving I'm bleeding to death, everything's fine Yeah, I'm working, making money I'm just starting to build a name I can feel it, around the corner I could make it any day Mother, mother, can you hear me? Sure I'm sober, sure I'm sane Life is perfect, never better Still your daughter, still the same If I tell you what you want to hear Will it help you to sleep well at night? Are you sure that I'm your perfect dear? Now just cuddle up and sleep tight I'm hungry, I'm dirty I'm losing my mind, everything's fine I'm freezing, I'm starving I'm bleeding to death, everything's fine I miss you, I love you
Who is better: Belly, Veruca Salt, Letters to Cleo, That Dog, Hole, I thing Tracy Bonham was the most power punk girl of that era. 1996 -. even rocked more than Juliana Hatfield and Liz Phair.
I hear the “Everything’s fine” in my head still when I get stressed out.
I wonder what else us Gen X’ers do that’s in our head that was inspired by our pop culture of the time?
Same!❤
I'm so grateful to have come up in the 90's decade of music. Even
our 1 hit wonders were surreal rock songs.
If by Come Up you mean grow up, you got screwed by missing the 80s. That was the best.
She was hardly a one hit wonder. You just never follow her music.
I was forced to move out of my house when I was just an 18 year old girl. This song really hits home.
Fun fact: The older lady in this video vacuuming and cleaning is Tracy Bonham's real life mother. =)
Really? :o
I thought so.
I thought I posted this when I saw the name🙃
Awesome!!🤣🤣🤣
I have a pink outfit just like hers.
40 years old going to be 41 and Love this song still!!!
Me too, and I named my daughter Ophelia 😂
43 and I still love it too. Great music lives forever. 🤘
24 years old in 1996..in the middle of the indie explosion...Tracy, That Dog, Juliana, The Britpop thing, life was great.
Yes, this is the version that I remember from its premiere in 1996. I like it!
I saw her go nuts on a violin. It was the first time I have seen someone rock out on a violin...it was awesome!!!!!
Gotta have Faith,faith...
Was she the inspiration for Lindsay Stirling?
checkout Lourds Lane of band 'Lourds' - she basically makes her violin her bitch
Look up Rachel Barton Pine's heavy metal violin videos. She plays with Earthen Grave.
Once there was music

Such a perfect music video, ah, the 90s feel so good
M you
Whenever I am having a sh1tty day in my semi stuck in traffic I sing this song screaming out loud ‘I am loosing my mind everything is fine!’ The 90s were awesome.
This song is SOOO brilliantly done.
This song sure hits home when you have a beloved child on the streets.
Or when you remember vibing to the song as a young woman who ran off across the country, then as a middle aged woman, loses mother and tuns back home. Hits different now.
Dear God thank you for this upload! This version is WAAAAAAAY better than the second version of this video.
I agree!!!!
I guess I didn't have a TV in the 90s, somehow I never watched this video. My mother liked this song. RIP my angel.
Bless you. My mom gone almost a year now, and this is bittersweet.
So much emotion when she says "And everything's FINE!!!!" So much so it shakes her to her core lol i LOVE IT!!!!!😍❤
Soothing comment
good stuff - sounds good 23 years later
23 years...damn. Good times
Loved (and still do) this song so much growing up as an angsty teenager in the 90's.

Which is saying a lot 💜
Annnnndddd i've just been transported back to 6th grade. 📻😭
I love the small detail of all the other instruments but the violin disappearing before her 2nd outburst.
Homes don't look like that anymore. The song is kinda nostalgic, but the set even moreso.
Yeah, it hit me that that's what homes in my childhood looked like, and I'm just shy of 40. The furniture and the TV still existed in friends' homes in 1996, when this song came out.
It's some 70s decor vibes, with the green walls and the cheesy shelf.
Feel sick to my stomach when I listen to this and think about my sister in college.
I hope to god her saying she's really happy is not lies so everyone will sleep well at night.
Were they lies
She is probably lying to keep everyone happy and worry free
In college you either go mad go dumbo or come out fine
I FUCKIN love her! First cassette I bought and it changed my life.
Chrissy BK
Is a great album
EVERYTHING'S FINE.
Yeah right
This one just popped in my head. Super song. She needs a hug bad!
I fell in love with song & video my freshman year in highschool. It was the coolest moment in my life.
My teenager Mother's day anthem! 🖤
This music video is just as brilliant as the song, and maybe even more iconic.
the song of an entire generation
And it was a one-hit wonder.
I wouldn't go that far !
The song of all generations 🙂
State-funded psy-op or genius artist following reality? 🤔
Hi yes - Millennial carrying on the tradition. 🙃
The song is more relevant in 2020 than in 1996.
50 --» I still FEEL my 26th again !!! hahahah !!
LOVE GRUNGE Time !
Amazing song and video TRACY BONHAM !!!
I remember watching this video on 120 Minutes when it came out, and was surprised to see a second version all these years later. Weird, because this one is incredibly meaningful. The drums sound incredible. That snare is awesome
JOSH FREESE ON DRUMS!
@@saint_primo holy crap dude, one of the most accomplished rock drummers in history. Had no idea.
They use to play this 3 to 4 times a day on Edge 102 in 1996. Awesome year for music
1996...
someone in 2019?
the 90s rules
Indeed they do
Someone in 2020 “the 90s rule!”
Yes they do! There is no better music than what was created in the 90s, hands down! So relieved to have grown up & influenced during that time period 🤘🏻❤️✌🏻❤️🙏🏼
Could you imagine being a teen today? 🤦🏼♀️😂
We are blessed in many different ways
My older sister used to hear this song as a teen. I hadn't heard it in ages until watching Yellowjackets.
I'm so glad we had music like this as tweens instead of the absolute vapid garbage kids have now.
Ahh, this is the version I watched back in the day. It's so weird, this song has been forgotten in some corner of my mind.
Same here, I totally forgot about this song & just seen a tiny clip of this video in another unrelated video & came to listen....It makes me wanna go back so bad. The 70's,80's,90's & even the early 2000's wasn't bad.
Just finished Yellowjackets and remembered how goid this song is.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ still here
I feel like screaming along with her. The feeling of being on your own but excited at the same time but scared. This was great in 1996 but even better today.
I've seen the live version. Tracy is playing her violin and the band is rocking hard.
Just thought about this album for the first time in a long time…Takes me back to 96-98 MTV….
I was 10 when I heard this. First song I remember listening to on q101 Chicago in the back of the family lumina. Also shout out to ROCK103.5 Chicago
Every time I dial my mom these days while living these crazy times of the quarantine.
When this video came out she was on tour opening for Everclear, then after this it was the other way around.
Perfect drumming. I love this drummer. That second verse especially.
JOSH FREESE ON DRUMS
Takes me back to June 1996. I was 18 years old, 50lbs overweight, and didn’t have enough credits to graduate. Bad Times, but now…..Everything’s Fine.
Is everything really fine. How u doing
Back then when MTV was a good thing.
Always and forever.
90s anthem...and we're still here.
this mv is iconic
Yellowjackets made me remember that this song existed.
I prefer the other video, but I'd still watch this one.
"Everythings fineeee! Damn! it hits me
Finally this gem video is on YT!!! :D
Lol ... The song we all screamed at the top of our lungs, in the car. And then, composed ourselves to "go inside" for dinner 😂
This rocks
The drummer is amazing
When this song came out, I was 23 and was doing everything I shouldn't have doing
So what happened
That’s what your 20’s are for.
I was 34 and was doing everything I shouldn't have been doing.. still am doing everything I shouldn't be doing LOL
They played this at least 3 times a day on the alternative station I listened to. One of the few that never got old
I still. Love. This tune. Years. Later
This version hits home
The best 90s
How have I never heard this!?
First time I heard this song I was a few years into what would become a 20-year estrangement from my parents that ended with a life-or-limb hit-and-run accident. I'll always keep this song close to my heart.
"I'm bleeding to death - everything's fine! I miss you. I love you."
Yet another drumming credit for Josh Freese
Omg I forgot about this amazing song, Yellow jackets brought me here!
EVERYTHING’ S FINE!!!!!!!!
YES, DRUMS SOUND AMAZING! I BELIEVE JOSH FREESE PERFORMED ON THIS ALBUM!
So grateful to have remembered this song after hearing it on Yellowjackets!
Swoon!!! This takes me back to putting on MTV and leaving it on all day long. Music videos used to be so amazing and fun!
I have been listening to this song since 1997. Oldies but Goodies!
Now, this is the version I know and love! Why d oes that other one even exist? This one is eppic!
The "other version" you speak of was supposed to be released in the UK only. For some reason the original went missing and this other, sub standard one rose to the top. It's killing me. Thanks for your response.

thanks and greetings from Switzerland, great song!
Happy Mother's Day 2021!
She does this song with a violin too. Rock wise.
I love this song!!!

Who is better: Belly, Veruca Salt, Letters to Cleo, That Dog, Hole, I thing Tracy Bonham was the most power punk girl of that era. 1996 -. even rocked more than Juliana Hatfield and Liz Phair.
I got to see her in concert in the 90s. Such energy! Definitely an awesome decade.
O Auge da MTV Brasil!
this is one of the best music videos I've ever seen
Wait, is that a Hanson brother on the table??! 2:26
Anyway.. Epic song.
God bless this upload. The alternative version of this video is deplorable.
Out of the two videos made for the song, this was the one I saw the most on MTV.
I remember this video from MTV.
Brlliant!!
I hadn't heard this song since I was a kid, now I'm an adult and I finally understand what its about
How can this look THAT GOOD in 480p?
One of the. best. songs. ever.
My mom used to play this song in the car and the album cover scared the crap out of me. I would always ask her to play the "mommy" song lol.
yes. this is the video i remember. what a great video.
Don't know why this gets me in the feels. Great song from a great Era of music. Man I wish music was still real and raw
