    Well played guys, some good golf, some errors we all make. Darren, nice looking swing, if you look frame by frame at the shot where you flew your approach low over the green, stop it when you hit the ball and it clearly demonstrates your hand were far ahead of your hips turning. Always nice to work out what happens when we all hit bad shots. Understanding our bad shots helps us to hit less of them. Well done guys, coupe of great looking drives by Oggie as well. Decent swing and timing.

      Thank you for your comments as always my friend. I guess golf is always a progression of trying to improve and making fewer bad shots. I totally agree that self analysis is a great way to see what we do right and wrong x

    Best advice I can give for One Lengths is 'know your yardages'. Pick the club you would usually play, but initially set up for a 7 iron until you have a regular, consistent address stance, then just swing with confidence. The club will do the work. Try not to overthink it.
    As for bump and runs around the green, go back to using your one length hybrid. Don't fix what ain't broke! Work on using a 58 or 60 deg standard length wedge over winter though for short chips, but leave it in the bag until you are ready on the course next year.
    It's all about confidence and Keep It Simple, just as Darren is demonstrating on the video.👏👍👍🙂

    Very enjoyable video. Darren is playing well. John, I don’t think it is the clubs - you need those short game lessons to improve your technique. I believe you were going to have some a few months ago.

      Hi David, Darren as partly answered this but I am also intending to go up and see Andy Gorman as well and hope to do some work with Chris Gill. Dan has been having a time of upheaval business wise and travelling for his channel so it’s been impossible to meet up lately with him.

    One lengths interesting concept, may be worth combo set where your 4 5 6 are longer then rest 7 length. I think I would struggle, but it’s about finding what’s right for you

    • @darrensturman2168
      @darrensturman2168 3 года назад +1

      Hi Steve and Alfie it really is a great concept and big o did really well considering that was his first knock with them happy golfing mate 😀

    • @BIGOGGIEGOLF
      @BIGOGGIEGOLF  3 года назад

      Interestingly enough Jon Eva also had one length irons and he changed back because he couldn’t get distances with the long numbers 4,5,6 as he didn’t have the swing speed.

    • @sumpingwong6659
      @sumpingwong6659 3 года назад

      That's what hybrids were brought out for. More length from slower swing speeds. So its hybrids or the gym. @@BIGOGGIEGOLF

    Shouldn't the length of the club shaft although all still the same length as a 7 iron be set to a players hand to the ground measurement.
    This obviously means a persons height comes into play when measuring for the 7 iron length. This is the set length for the other clubs.
    John being the height he is would need a longer shaft throughout the set. Maybe I'm not thinking right. On another point mentioned four of us lost 7 balls between us in leaves today. One being a golf snob lost 4 Prov1's hit twice at the most.

    • @darrensturman2168
      @darrensturman2168 3 года назад +1

      Hi my friend hope your well a standard 7 iron length if I remember correctly is 37 inches or 37 .5 and big o regular 7 iron should be that so no difference but fitting is always best I hate losing balls buddy drives me made hope your well happy golfing mate

      Very happy to see you back with Oggie playing a game that is a lot closer in relation to your handicaps.
      You mentioned it in the vlog and that's the flag on your sleeve Darren. Very hard for a proud Devonian to have to wear that. You need to get that fixed. Nice to see the place, home to one of my hero's getting some tender loving care.
      Look after yourself Darren.
