Minor mistake there for 'Saving Private Ryan' in the line, "For anyone in the air-force ..." The airborne isn't part of the Airforce. 101 Airborne is part of the US Army, and back in WW2 there was no Airforce, it wasn't created until 1947. Understandable and minor mistake, especially for someone who isn't from the US.

The reveal in Fight Club actually comes way before the phone. In the opening scene, the narrator's voiceover says, "I know this because Tyler knows this." Meaning, we're the same person.

It is a common saying, but that's not the purpose of this line. Like many other moments in the voiceover, the Narrator is mocking the audience. It's one of many dozen moments when he's hinting at the reveal. This just happens to be the first instance.

There's a few clues. Everyone is driving like late 90s vehicles but they all still look in pretty good quality (not impossible but unlikely after you get more than a couple like that), there's references to things that were pop culture when it's set but kind of outdated when it came out (Lisa Loeb, The Sixth Sense). They actually did a good job of putting hints in there but keeping it subtle.

One thing that stood out to me when I first watched Fight Club was how they pass a movie marquee with 'Seven Years in Tibet' on it, a Brad Pitt movie. So... Brad Pitt exists in this film, is definitely an actor whose image would be in Jack's mind. I used to think this was a cool little plant, but apparently this is accidental. They filmed marquees with movies that also featured Norton and Bonham-Carter, they just didn't wind up being seen in the final cut.

It was obvious to me because I knew a psychiatrist would never show up at a church for the kids first visit. I watched the whole rest of the movie knowing he was dead & saw Willis never interacting with anyone living or the living just ignoring him except the boy. I was looking around the theater the whole movie to see if anyone else got it, but no one had. I was so smug when the reveal happened in the theater. This is the only time this had ever happened to me, to figure out how it was going to end before anyone else & it was all because of how Willis showed up at the church & started treating the boy as if he was a patient. Something just clicked that this wasn't right & everything just fell into place for me.

1:58 - There''s a much more obvious reveal that _Final Destination 5_ is a prequel that doesn't require making assumptions (maybe Isaac just chooses to use a flip-phone): the spa gift-certificate has an expiry date of June 30, 2001.
6:13 - Or, something as innocuous as a tip is _exactly_ what they'd grass up their fellow criminals for because it's inconsequential and a harmless outlet for all the critical secrets the keep bottled up.

Re: "Saving Private Ryan," the casting director also did one hell of a job finding a much older actor who actually looks like he could be Matt Damon at that age. So there's that, too.

Doesn’t the “no incoming calls” on the pay phone only indicate that you can’t call the pay phone, not that the pay phone can’t make calls

The reveal is that Tyler doesn't answer and then calls the payphone back using *69, which shouldn't work if the payphone doesn't accept incoming calls

Predestination has too many hints about Ethan hawkes character being his own progenitor and progeny....the song playing in the club was called "I am my own grandpa" and once when Sarah snooks character calls Ethan hawkes character a son of a bitch he responds by saying " son of a bitch, thats funny." Watching the movie a second time is a total treat...better than watching it the first time.

    Just want to correct this:
The 101st Airborne Division is part of the U.S. Army, not Air Force.
In fact, the U.S. Air Force wasn't even established until after World War 2. Back before they became a separate branch, they were part of the Army called the Army Air Corps.
The 101st Airborne Division is still part of the U.S. Army today. Their incredible bravery during World War 2 led to a museum being dedicated to them in Bastogne, Belgium.

There is another giveaway for Searching. At one point David realizes that Lake Barbosa is a place Margot liked to visit. When Vick FaceTimes him, one of her first questions is “Are you at the lake?!”. He never mentioned where he was going, just that he was visiting a place Margot liked 😏.

The only problem with the Tyler Durden No Incoming Calls reveal is that a fair number of the pay phones that were blocked from receiving calls weren't, regardless of the posting. When I moved into my first apartment there was one just outside the building that I used as my "home phone" for job applications

There were a couple in Fight Club. Right after the narrator asks “If you can wake up in another place, can you wake up as another person?” Or something like that and the Narrator and Tyler immediately pass each other in the airport. Also when they get into the car crash Tyler was driving, but when the bar rotator crawls out of the flipped car he leaves out of the Driver’s side, not the passengers. Not to mention that Marla and Tyler never talk to each other when the narrator is in the room

Another movie I figured the twist from a less than subtle sound cue was Scream 2. Right after Cici is murdered and Derek is stabbed, when Mickey us talking with Sidney he mentions Derek had no business going back into the house. That line is already a give away, but there is a dramatic sound effect that punctuates it and pretty much makes it instantly clear right there.

I don’t know why Saving Private Ryan is on this list. I saw it with a date and neither one of us assumed the elderly man was anyone other than Pvt. Ryan. No one else I know looked at it as some kind of mystery. Besides, Tom Hank’s character was at least 20 years older than Pvt. Ryan, so the likelihood of Tom Hank’s character still being alive we’re pretty slim. Not to mention, if he was still alive he’d be a lot older. One other thing, the actor who played the elderly Pvt. Ryan bore a striking resemblance to what Matt Damon may look like at that age.
I’ll have to watch Final Destination 5 (or is it The Final Destination?) because I really like the first one. I was surprised that it was released when it was because it was shortly after a United Airlines plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean shortly after takeoff, and there was actually a French Club (from a Pennsylvania school I believe) onboard en route to Paris. There were no survivors.😥

You can actually spot The Usual Suspects in the second scene. In the first scene they focus on Kaiser Soze’s legs as he’s walking and he gets a really ironic smile. Then we focus on Virgil’s limping legs as he’s introduced. Putting it all together, you can figure out the limp is an act.

I'm an ex Army Engineer & I have all branches in my family from basically all wars going back to wwII. the actual hint in reservoir dogs is when they get to the warehouse. there are jugs filled with colored liquid on a shelf, white, pink, and orange. the white and pink jugs are right next to each other grouped together and the orange is all the way on the other side all alone, not part of the group.

“A Beautiful Mind” has a quick bit of foreshadowing before the big reveal.
IIRC there’s a scene where Nash’s pre-teen friend Marcie races to give Nash a hug and passes by a flock of birds while doing so. The birds don’t react because ‘Marcie’ doesn’t exist. She’s just one of Nash’s schizophrenic imaginings
