It burned so bad but I championed through and left it on for like an hour. Mind you I have locs and had to apply it all the way through after applying it on my scalp first. It was pretty intense but I would use it again. I would recommend not rubbing it into your scalp like I did, but instead carrying it through the hair from your roots.
Same thing happen to me. It felt like a burning sensation on my head😭 I couldn’t even do the whole 30 minutes I just washed it out. Never buying this product again.
@@jbae3012 and the funny part is that I watched you talk about this product month ago and disregarded it cause I’m like “maybe it’s just her”. If I could go back in time and save myself the headache (LITERALLY & PHYSICALLY) I would 😭
@@badgyal.shania1795 it’s weird because I’ve brought other dark and lovely products and never had an issue til I got this one. I’m thinking it’s because of the bleach kit; product so strong it’s burns.
@@Roscage yea i just bought another 3 kits today and only put it on my hair then the last 10 mins on my roots but it was burning so bad i had to wash it out
Came here to confirm if anyone else had this experience. I had a migraine for 3 days. Had my locs hard and now the dye is flaking NOT fading it’s been damn near 2 months
Yes ma’am! My head was tingling for a few days. But other than that it was fine. I’m super sensitive to a lot of different things. I’m thinking it was the scent. Which was my fav part. It smells so good!🥲 hope everything went well with your highlights!♥️
I also used dark and lovely for the first time in december when my scalp started hurting. After this i been having a tense pain in my scalp till this day and its sensitive to touch. Doctor told me it probably triggered something on my scalp… hope it’ll go away eventually its HORRIBLE
You probably still have conditioner on your scalp and it says it lifts up to eight levels remember like using chemicals on your skin for long periods of time can make your skin more sensitive so eight levels remember that supposed to be pretty sure strong stuff so you most likely had a reaction to that many was just too strong for your scalp after years of damage but also you probably have some products still left on your scalp like you shampoo you condition you think you got it all off and yes somehow someway just do even a micro thin film of that on your scalp can make it just blister and give you the worst headaches even if it doesn't blow so you can still get terrible headaches when you wash your hair again with adjust water just go in with water real hard there's a lot of water and then shampoo after that do shampoo like two to three times and I mean with clarifying conditioner I mean clarifying shampoo on your scalp and I'm sure you're going to feel a lot of relief
I used this yesterday and after like 20 minutes I felt a tingly sensation on my scalp but it was t severe I left it in another 40 minutes cause I wasn’t achieving the color I was going for so after the hour I still didn’t achieve the blond it was more like blond in the scalp and round the edges and brown on my ends lol idk what happened but I use dark n lovely all the time never had a problem but i never just this straight blonde product and just wanted to try it any suggestions on getting the rest of my hair to match my blonde anybody I’m open to suggestions………thanks
I would recommend getting some bleach from Sally’s and a 30 vol developer. Then use a toner. What color blonde are you looking to achieve? I can tell you what toner you should use. It’s a little more expensive buying from Sally’s but it works better than box dye.
@J Bae ok first off my King name is J and he call me Bae so on his phone it says Js Bae. 2nd those fumes got you. You think if I treat it like a perm and use Vaseline that would help?

I like the D&L bleach, it's non ammonia. To me it's way less damaging and hurts less than traditional bleach. It actually makes my hair really soft
This is crazy! Mine was on for less then 5 minutes. Then it started burning. I felt like I was on fiiiiiiiiyah! 😫😫😫
y'all should put petroleum jelly, or some kind of thick hair grease around the edges
How long did you wait to bleach after washing your hair???
Happen to me aswell! My ear started popping because it was burning so badly. Never using this again!

It's not supposed to go on the scalp
I didn’t put it directly on the scalp.
