Their problem wasn't not practicing enough their problem was bad team chemistry, a lack of motivation and a lot of frustration coming from that. And in order to become motivated as a team and work hard again it's important to hang out so you can then actually repair your relationships and get into a non-stressfull, motivated environment. Scrimming online home alone doesn't do that. Clearly you can't just push through and expect it will be fine in the long run, just look at what happened. Not everything formal says is true and it's just his perspective. From what I remember he never was the one who wanted to hang out, move into the optic house or live close by which, to me, is ridiculous seeing how this is his job, he loves doing it and he is making a lot of money in the process. He is talking about working hard but it seems to me he only wanted to do it his way and not actually fix the real issues eventhough his teammates asked him to. It's like he never heard of teambuidling. The others lived together a lot of the time and hung out together way more and guess what, they are playing together right now and they are doing quite good. What I don't get is why Hecz didn't step in and just made them and acted more like a mediator to solve these issues (or maybe he did but it never showed that much on camera from what I have seen). Just put in their contracts that they have to do scheduled LAN practice a few days in the week. They get paid more than enough to demand something like that. I'm kinda baffled that competitive CoD is maturing so slowly, I've heard retired veterans say they should be doing LAN practice a lot more years ago and Formal is still sitting there saying he doesn't want to "hang out" and people just accept that. I would live next door to the optic office and be ready to scrim every single day in his position making that kind of money while playing videogames.
@@todayismycheatday773 lmao ( the problem isnt them not practicing) you have to practice to stay consistent or get better , I'm not reading the rest cuz wow
This is why teams like Gen.G and EU have been popping off, and OpTic is struggling to place. This game relies too much on teamwork and that’s something the Core 3 have never worked on because they relied on their gun skill to bully their way into hard situations. They can’t do that in this game though, because other teams have equal or greater skill ceilings than them so then they struggle. Then they tell themselves and the fans bullshit excuses like “we were trying new things.” Geez formal is spot on the money. I always thought this was the case, where OpTic won on raw skill and not knowing the game fundamentally well. I bet if they don’t win champs Crimsix is gonna leave to join/form a different super team. With teammates who have his drive to win. Like things are up in the air RN and there are too many possibilities but he’s a huge name in CoD and any org would gladly build around him, and most players would gladly join them.
I can feel for Formal on the team dinners and all that. You spend so much time talking with and working with the same 3-4 guys, you might just want time away from them. I love the people I work with, but after 8 hours with them every day I want to go home and not talk to them for a little while.
Next time can we get a Hecz cam so we can see his expression hearing this, i think that would have been a great idea. Sat back and let crim demoralize his teammates and never stepped in only to let his golden child split up a dynasty. Almost sad to see formal explain this and have to almost relive it.
I am not a longtime COD fan, actually I like Battlefield a lot but I have kept up with COD professional esports and I think like some people say, Formal has very insightful retrospects. Around 10:45 he says that individually they had superior shooting mechanics than everyone else, however, regarding tactics, they weren't playing the game properly. I think that is still the case and nowadays that shows more...
Their placements during those times were not only toxic for him mentally but it also affected him monetarily I think. Then again it just seems like there’s no desire to sugar coat shit and he’s being blunt

The best optic line up ever, scump, crimsix, formal and karma
It’s because the call of duty games haven’t been as good since blops 2 . Seems like nobody wants to play anymore
Who the fuck says blops
A T 😂😂😂😂😂
@@deeppocketz5487 Quite a lot of people...
I remember the bo2 days watching optic I was in 7th grade now I’m 20 jeez how times have changed :/
Lets see what Optic doing this COD Champs this weekend! Bring it home!
Blops 1 days i met Hecz in Orlando at the MLG event. Cool dude

Maikel Sanchez amen
A M Is A FlipFlop yea right kid
snipers going ham will all ways be in my heart i learnt allot of them guys which has helped me through my cod years.
Who here remember OpTic Corrosive, Dtreats, Psychosis, Xgen, Theory, and all the other OG clans?
C7 Z Z sulfurik made a comeback
M40A3 lol
Some of them still play
RaGE, AbNL, eXiLe, lol..
God optic was so bad at WWII...it was cool to hear his behind the scenes perspective on what happened to the team.
Why Does This Guy Look Like A Young Version Of Jack Black ? 😂
XRed Chino or older version of Dustin from stranger things lol
Prod.SonicBoom 🤣 Yes
Perhaps Dustin will become Jack Black
Nah I don’t see jack black at all lol
Jake NHale Or “Dustin from stranger things” 🤣
Been watching Optic Gaming since middle school. So sad to watch them split up
This is why teams like Gen.G and EU have been popping off, and OpTic is struggling to place.
But Gen.G just got eliminated from Champs after going 0-2...
bigblue916 lol if you think this shit wasn’t a fluke or something internal was going on you tripping.
Optic has gotten top three 3 out of the 5 events..."struggle to place"?
I can feel for Formal on the team dinners and all that. You spend so much time talking with and working with the same 3-4 guys, you might just want time away from them. I love the people I work with, but after 8 hours with them every day I want to go home and not talk to them for a little while.
Damn miss ya Matt this podcast is awesome
Next time can we get a Hecz cam so we can see his expression hearing this, i think that would have been a great idea. Sat back and let crim demoralize his teammates and never stepped in only to let his golden child split up a dynasty. Almost sad to see formal explain this and have to almost relive it.
I think if Optic loses really bad this year at Champs I say Scump is gonna retire
Yeah since scump been on fire all year
now wot
He confirmed he isn’t retiring for at least 2 to 3 years forbid anything happens
BO3 champs was the most hype cod has ever been for me
I love how much he remembers even tho bo3 was YEARS ago
Spencer Zheng the Lebron of CoD
Spencer Zheng bo3 was only like three years ago
Maul more like 4 but yeah I don’t that’s that long to remember this shit lol
“We went into that gas and we thought everyone was ass” @9:26 😂😂😂
imagine formal still on OpTic and on maddox with dashy and crim on Icr, karma and scump on saug. would be nasty
Scump is dogshit why don’t people understand that? Literally optics roster today without Scump and Matt instead is an insane team
Crim and scump are trash just like last year dashy and teej are there only good players karma is alright atm
Crim is the worst are player in the game this year and he's not shit without karma ww2 proved that
I really thought gunless and formal would be the next dominant team regardless of the team. But there’s so much competition noe
Now*
They might be, they clocked 100T
I am not a longtime COD fan, actually I like Battlefield a lot but I have kept up with COD professional esports and I think like some people say, Formal has very insightful retrospects. Around 10:45 he says that individually they had superior shooting mechanics than everyone else, however, regarding tactics, they weren't playing the game properly. I think that is still the case and nowadays that shows more...
damn bo2 was the best days. happy i was able to see that as a kid, im 23 now
He still seems so bitter, like the beef still fresh it seems but I could be wrong
Their placements during those times were not only toxic for him mentally but it also affected him monetarily I think. Then again it just seems like there’s no desire to sugar coat shit and he’s being blunt
Is crazy how I’ve been following optic in 6th grade now I’m in college
Hope he teams with karma again
This is crazy. You can tell he has reflected on this a lot.
Well Crim isnt that great without karma.. and if you say he was good before I'll argue that he had pat and teep.
Bo2/Ghosts=Aw Crim was a machine ur drunk?
@@RaygunzGOAT karma was best player in the game on bl02 that ring don't lie
