I actually watched Muhammad Ali fight when I was a kid and naturally I saw Laila Ali fight too. Both were obviously great fighters with Muhammad Ali being one of the greatest of all time. Laila was the greatest women's boxer ever regardless of the fact that she didn't fight Ann Wolfe. Now it is Clarissa's turn and she is paving her own way to being one of the greatest of all time. I think Laila should give her that honor.
Of course Laila should think that she is the best and she has every right to think that and more importantly, she is supposed to believe that but because this is Clarissa's time, Laila should do nothing but pay high praise to Clarissa. This is what we as black people have to do to move the next generation forward. We should always put our young people who are doing something special and something positive on a high pedestal.
What Laila should have said is, of course I wouldn't think no woman could beat me but this is Clarissa's time and she is the best fighter of today and of this generation. It would have been interesting to see what would have happen if we could have been born in the same generation and we could have fought one another. Who knows who could have won the fight. It certainly would have been epic. But, this is Clarissa's moment, she is doing a terrific job, she is very skilled and I am proud of her and I am team Clarissa. I want nothing but the best for her and I will support her to becoming the GWOT. This is how we need to treat our current fighters and our young people doing good things. We need to praise them by putting them on a high pedestal. This will do nothing but propel our young people further along and overall propel our people further ahead. Providing praise along with some guidance, our young people will provide the same for the next generation and as a black people we would benefit overall
