    When a story he wrote brought him some wealth,
    He packed up for Europe and for his health.
    He felt cooped up in a less civil West;
    The Old World could provide him better rest.

    is this guy a biographer of nabokov? he's such a bore. he's talking about the history of his own research. who cares?
