For me, redactions is pure lack of creativity or Fear of making no cientific sense. I bet there are SCP's as complex as this one that dont even come close to this many redactions.
I believe the author took this idea from a Kurt Vonnegut novel. It has the same property of "ice 9" which has property of water but when in contact with regular water turns everything to ice. It was the cause for end of the world in the novel.
Well, it's not HIS work, he is reading it as it was in the original article. But I agree, the redactions, especially in earlier SCPs, can be overused. See SCP-354, "The Red Pool", and then you will realise how bad it sometimes was.
Anyone that enjoys this should check out 'Cat's Cradle' by Kurt Vonnegut. A lot of fun similarities between this and the 'Ice 9' formula found in Cat's Cradle.

How can scp-009 be in liquid and solid state in the same environment, at the same time? Shouldn't it only be found in liquid form while in an ICY cave according to it's description
It was not this guy that censored the details, it was the author that did it and this guy just red it for us in case some of us don't know where to find the SCP files.
wait isn't there some logic errors in this one, or at least with the pictures used? When the red ice/ water behaves opposite to regular water, then in this envoirment where it has been discoverd the red Ice should have been in a liquid state instead of a solide state as environmental temperatures should have been below 0°C I assume.
I was wondering that too. Maybe frozen 009 generates heat on its own and stays frozen in a feedback loop. That would explain why all the containment measures are designed to keep it as a liquid.
