Thank you for this video. I started watching wanting to give you advice and ended up reflecting on my own situation. Happiness is a choice. It begins and ends with being grateful for what we have. This video has reminded me of that, thank you. Love you guys be safe.
I really appreciate you both sharing your honesty with the world. I understand your relationship is private, but thank you for sharing this heartfelt moment. It’s a positive influence that I think we all need right now. Thanks and be well!
Your situation resonates with my relationship being stuck indoors during lockdown with my wife and a toddler who has recently started walking and getting himself in bother. Communicating your feelings, self reflection and creating solutions are what makes a relationship work. You seem like a lovely couple and an inspiration for others in team work.
What an honest and insightful portrayal of boat life and lockdown combined. Seeing you two get in touch with the emotions going on and working out your challenges is uplifting. Thanks so much for sharing.
@@drak3385 There is an emotional truth in that statement about happiness, even if it is hackneyed and narrow in its perspective. It works, though, only when directed towards oneself and not used to assault or criticize others, especially those who objectively face challenges and struggles that cannot be wished away, which some here seem not to understand.
Thank you guys - for your honesty, your wisdom, and authenticity - and for being so open to share these things. I so enjoy your videos, they mean a lot - especially right now. Be well!
It is a rare thing to be able to admit ones faults and weaknesses, especially to those near and dear to our hearts. In your situation, this is magnified ten fold. Sharing these issues with one another illustrates how strong your Love is and is good step toward understanding how delicate life can be. Sharing your issues with us makes me feel even closer and caring than ever before. I pray that the world comes out of this crisis sooner than later and with that brings you closer to each other! Know that you are Loved.
Wow! I am proud of you Bro! That brownie and milk was great! And she owned up to her part. You are both quality, intelligent, attractive people. Thank you for your example
You two are so real. Thank you for sharing your problems. We all have different things to deal with in this crazy world right now. it takes really strong people to share your thoughts and feelings with the world. I think we all owe you a really big thank you. God Bless
Wow after watching the entire episode, I kinda regret my earlier comment. Big kudos to you both for such an open and yet painful look at this daily sailing life. You guys will beat this. We are all here with prayers and support.
I have been watching your videos lately and want to thank you for them, especially this one. It's hard to be dialed on all the time and with a house/on land, we can just go to another room, go outside, etc.. THANK YOU for showing humility and understanding goes a long way. Praying you all will be sailing again soon.
Everybody and their mother seems to have 'advice' to offer whether or not you want it. I don't have any advice.. Just wanted to say I appreciate the honesty and transparency ya'll put into your videos. So thanks for that. Wishing ya'll the best... and wishing I was on a boat!
Dealing with discomfort, fear and uncertainty , with grace. Absolutely, perfectly stated! Learning this skill is the hardest thing to do, yet so simple at the same time, as evidenced by the honest conversation and forgiveness you two gave to each other. Another brilliant video on how to sail, even when things go a little bit off course. We’ll done.
great video of the tougher side of being in lockdown. My friend is in Colon Panama stuck at the moment and he said the restrictions are rough! Take care guys!!
You two are remarkable, your communication is your strength. We are all put out with current situation, you are really both lucky to be living your dreams. Hang in there your doing great.
Yep, living together in small spaces sometimes turns us into small people. Personally I have to dial it back, step into the wayback machine and remember the girl I fell in love with. We’re all in this together and together we’ll get through it. Thanks for keeping it real.
So true, well said we may look different years later but the core of the person is still that same one we fell in love with! Alright enough sappy stuff .....
It is not only remembering the girl you fell in love with is the two of you enabling each other to say things like. Go scrub the bottom of the boat, time you checked the top of the rigging, swim laps or dingy and sunshade come back in an hour even to there is plenty of video to edit, the sun is up you can have the front of the boat while I do an oil change, service the head etc. Small boats are difficult in a restrictive situation but trust in each other and have the fuse break statements or tasks not every relationship works but a small boat is smaller on your own!
Raw truthful powerful emotions and you had the guts to film it for us. You two are amazing courageous. That is a different kind of adventure you may not have been seeking out when you started this. But you make us better because of it. Thanks so much! Rich
No one gets hurt on a roller coaster unless they jump off. Listen to music you both enjoy - without earbuds. Music will take you off of Atticus to the theater of the mind. Cheering for you guys from Dallas,Texas. No boat. Just barbecue.
Can I say you 2 are really a joy to watch and what you both have achieved is so amazing, life is never straight or easy but you both take that in your stride, please look after each other as you 2 are so right together, all the best from the UK.
Hang in there my friends. When you're not feeling that warm and fuzzy feeling with each because of your situation, think of all the love we're sending your way for giving us these videos 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Thanks for making these last few months in Upstate New York (Syracuse) BETTER!
Sometimes life throws you a curve ball, just remember, you've already hit it out the park! Very true words at the end, Happiness is a state of mind... Stay safe and continue to ride the waves :-)
We appreciate you guys, we watch your videos with my girlfriend and dream about our own boat one day. Finally someone who is transparent and shows the real boat-life and struggles associated with it. Your videos are on the next level, love you both, you are made for each other.
I have you guys in my prayers. I feel bad that you're stuck there and unable to do your Pacific crossing. I am very empathetic with your situation; I am a project person, always on the move and can't just sit around. But as you note, maybe such a project is right there in front of you. Maybe you can make an underwater sculpture right where you are to mark the time spent there. Everyday you could work on it. Desiree could help design it. It could become a touchstone for cruisers to visit and pay homage. Make it detailed, unique, and durable. I wish you all the best.
That was just about the sweetest episode ever, and the boat looks great out on the water again. Hang in there, guys! We’re all going crazy and driving each other nuts in quarantine!
Sheesh, we can feel ya on the snapping at each other. Patients is needed yet harder to find in times like these. Add not getting a much needed “break” and a stretch of the legs and its off the charts trying. Kudos on the brownie peace offering! That would 100% work on me. 🤣. -Nikki
Agree with both of you and being able to work through this will bring you closer than ever in the end. Stay strong and safe. Looking forward to seeing you back out sailing again.
"Happiness is a choice." My late mother used to say that, I heard you say it in her voice. Peace and blessings to you both, find your joy and love each other well.
Thanks for this video. It is probably the most important one you've ever made, by bringing to light the challenges we all face in this lock-down and the need to find new coping mechanisms and routines, when our former ones are not available.
Ahhh feel for you guys stuck out there in lock down Well done finding solution and taking about your emotions ! Another note , love the mechanic tutorials too I need to learn more ! Great show !! Great lifestyle! Go team ! You guys rock !!
I have lived in an RV for the past 3 years with My Wife and 2 Large Dogs. I very much understand that people need there space. And being on a boat makes it harder to achieve that. I started watching y'all about 4 months back and am finally caught up. Y'all make me want to sell the RV and buy a sailboat. My Wife would never go for it, but I can dream. Keep it up, you two need each other to help get through this. Soon enough the world will calm down and y'all will be able to get back to sailing.
Good morning Jordan and Des, for what it’s worth you two are doing extraordinarily well considering the situation. I enjoyed watching you to work through conflict a couple of years ago and today’s video shows just how far you have come. You have wisdom beyond your years, and are handling things beautifully. Keep talking, remember to forgive yourselves and each other, And most importantly don’t lose sight of the big picture. Love and respect from Ventura California
Much props to both for putting your life out in public, the good and the bad. Been a fan for the sailing, adventure, and projects and a bigger fan now. Also much respect for taking that carb off over the water. I would have dropped a few screws if not the carb
Had this yesterday with my friend i'm lodging with till im aloud back to my boat to work on it and make it livable. luckily im able to go for a drive to the shops and today visited work to pick up some equipment to work on and keep me busy. you guys will crack this and it will make you stronger, none of this is either of your faults. if you where becalmed at sea for this long i imagine it would be different and not half as stressful. The frustration of the shore been just over there will be noaring at your frustration. i love the idea of using up your energy having a swim. Big ((hugs))
This covid lockdown is hard on everybody's relationships and I'm impressed that Jordan can put into words exactly how he's feeling...I definitely couldn't....I'm not that introspective LOL. It's hard to be inactive when you're so used to doing things all of the time...trust me I know. My work was concerned for my health ( because I have Lupus and am taking immunosuppressive medications) and I work in a factory with a lot of people so they forced me to stay home. I could only handle 2 weeks before I called my boss and told him I needed to come back or I'd lose my mind... I'm back at work and feeling much better :) Be safe guys and remember that love will conquer all things!!
Your patience with each other and yourselves is inspiring! So tough being as isolated as you are. I was holding my breath as you were taking off the carb over the water...Great job and kudos to you for hanging in there and trouble shooting it until it was resolved. Just know alot of us are going through the same type of frustration with this pandemic. Hang in there and remember to be kind to each other as you always are! Both of you make a great team!
Just in case you might be feeling any sort of ‘how are we going to produce interesting content when we are locked up ?’ type thoughts. Well don’t worry. We will watch and enjoy everything you share. In time we will all look back at this as a unique experience, even though there are plenty of challenges being thrown up. Stay safe, and enjoy those laps !
Thank you both for your lovely videos. I really enjoy learning about the ups and downs of living on a boat as well as seeing how well you get along. I love how well you communicate your feelings, both good and bad. Stay well, stay safe, stay cruising. Cheers from NYC.
You guys are wise way beyond your years. I guess living on a boat together will do that; but you two are an inspiration not only to me, but countless thousands out there. Thank you for your videos. I think they may have more impact than you might think.
@@berraquito I'd love to hear the technical response to that question too. I was given an awesome DJI drone for Christmas and I know it can do some pretty amazing pre-programmed moves but I'd love to hear from more experienced users before we demo ours at anchor and potentially crash it (in salt water!). That was a very cool shot!
Yea loved that closing someone's going to die someone's going down, I know you was just joking there but if I was you I wouldn't mess with her if I was you lol
You guys have no idea how lucky you are to have each other. Trust me on that. Things can change in the blink of an eye. Count your blessings and love each other
So glad you're willing to show the struggles as well as the good times! Those are the times you discover that you can grow into somebody better than you were before--*especially* in relationships. At a guess you knew that already, but we all get distracted sometimes. My wife and I have been married over thirty years now. My parents were married fifty years. The work that goes into a relationship--well, let's just say that Panama isn't the only opportunity for beauty in your lives right now :-). And yes, lockdown is a *lot* harder on extroverts!
You two have learned so much about yourselves and each other out there on the water, and still do so. The things you ignore about each other can finally manifest themselves and SURPRISE! Glad you can work through them and 'chill' together. Heartwarming! Blessings! You'll get through this when many cannot.
Hang in there, Buds! My wife, daughter, and I have been in lock down here in Downeast Maine. The weather forecast calls for snow tomorrow (May 8th) through the following day and I've been chomping at the bit to resume construction on my new sailboat. Such is life, but we'll all get there. Keep in mind: "Life's a beach.........BUT.........then the tide rolls in!!!"
Amazing for you guys to put this out there. We all can learn so much from the last five minutes of this video. Communication and respect have everything to do with making it through times like this. You guys shine bright in a world that needs it right now. Hang tough. A lot of folks are wrestling with the energy they're holding, with no way of releasing it. We'll all be better on the other side of this.
Thank you for that last part when your speaking! Those few words touched my soul and hope touches my wife’s durning struggling moments we all have ran into! Kind words go a far way! Wish u nothing but happiness and luck durning ur life journeys!
Zane Kreider Well Zane it is a sunny warm day in Cheshire in England but I would swap it any day to be in the snow in Alberta I miss and love Canada so very much....best wishes to you .
Live in Okotoks and my "atticus" arrives in Vancouver next week. She needs a pile of work but I have an awesome crew (my family) to help. Stay postive. Life is always changing, that is all we can count on.
As a boy we lived in Calgary Alberta. We lived at the top of the hill on Mount Royal and my brother and I would help push cars up the last bit of the hill after a heavy snowstorm. Quite often the drivers would give us some change for helping them up the hill. It was not near as much fun to shovel the driveway early in the morning so my dad could get his car out of the garage and go to work. Fond memories!
THANK YOU AGAIN, Jordan I need some of your mentality I haven't exercised in a while I just walk around the house, it is not enough. I am very glad for you two. Take care.
Becoming one of my favorite sailing channels! And I do watch a lot of them! Love your mindset - accepting each others differences in personality and still being able to compliment each other. A lot of couples around the world are locked up in their house, apartment but it will not be the square foot they have to run away from each other in that space but the way they communicate that will save their relationship from anger and frustrations... Therefore you are both a great example for many of us! Cheers and hope you can get on land soon or sail away to your next destination!
Thank you guys for sharing such a vulnerable moment and in most families a very private one. You handled it very well and are a great example of working through it from your heart.
I love the openness you two shared, regarding the difficulty of living on a boat, essentially stranded. That is a subject that most people don't share on the sailing vlog's I watch. Of course, I know there are difficulties, however, vloggers keep it to themselves. Which is completely fine. I just appreciate you sharing such a sore subject.
Try think positive all the time. "What is the positive about a situation?" Everytime you feel negative, stop, breath, and force yourself to see the positive as a reset.
You nailed it Des. Great episode and great insight. I too believe that happiness is a choice... both directly and indirectly. Thanks to you both for all that you share!
Q: How will you survive a 30 day passing crossing oceans? It is the same situation of being alone on the water. Start meditation, it will help you bridge. Stay safe.
A: It's not the same at all. Context is everything. Crossing an ocean together is a choice, and there's adjustments to make and progress to track. It is stimulating. This lockdown at anchor is forced on them, and they can't pursue their project together. It's not stimulating. It's unhuman.
@@adamcue6529100% agree. Apples and oranges. 30 day crossing (not that I have done it) cannot possibly be the same as being forcibly quarantined to your boat....on anchor......with no way to just, pull lines and leave......

You both rock!!! I feel uneasy just trying to imagine doing what you are doing. So lots of credit to you both!! I was remembering what a guru of mine said to me regarding life and spiritual growth that you toughed on at the end with your comment about being happy. You got it! Happiness is a state of mind choice. The emotional roller-coaster in life comes from dependency on external events making you happy, and not happy. My guru said to me, several times, "Can you be happy no matter what?" This a big learning experience we all need to focus on, as it becomes key to the number one goal of spiritual development, understanding and managing your ego. You both seem to be working on that and it shows in your maturity, gentle nature and kindness. When things go bad, start laughing at the circumstance and how hard the "test" is that life and spiritual forces have presented you to see if you can "still be happy no matter what."
Wow, you guys are arwsome... Sharing the tough times with your fans. You keep it so real... Makes me feel a part of your lives. My thoughts and prayers go with you.
WOW, opening up your innermost soul to all and sundry and ownig up to your issues is truly remarkable. Understaning them amongst yourselves is also so good. I can only say to you two that this can only make your special bond even stronger. Keep on looking at the bright side, let the small things go and of course the things you can not change, just ignore.
As a coach and counselor, I can't say enough how proud of you I am for working through your problems. No marriage is exempt from stress and tension. Communication, acceptance/patience and an honest, "I am sorry", go a long way toward resolution. If you need a friend, reach out to me. But you're doing a lot of things right.

In any relationship there are two mind sets on interaction two in the mind only these two need space to unfold
Rich
It's times like these we learn to live again.
It's times like these you give and give again. :D
Quarantine times!
There goes my hero...
I appreciate how deliberate and thoughtful you are in your relationship. Keep up the communication and know that this situation isn’t forever.
No one gets hurt on a roller coaster unless they jump off. Listen to music you both enjoy - without earbuds. Music will take you off of Atticus to the theater of the mind. Cheering for you guys from Dallas,Texas. No boat. Just barbecue.
Beautifully Said!
Hey Mark, here in Vegas. Have the BBQ as well. Carry on sir! God Bless!
Can I say you 2 are really a joy to watch and what you both have achieved is so amazing, life is never straight or easy but you both take that in your stride, please look after each other as you 2 are so right together, all the best from the UK.
Hang in there my friends. When you're not feeling that warm and fuzzy feeling with each because of your situation, think of all the love we're sending your way for giving us these videos 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for making these last few months in Upstate New York (Syracuse) BETTER!
Keep your heads up. You have been providing a lot of people (myself included) with entertainment/joy during these unusual times. Thank you.
I don't think they let desert folk out on the water!🤪
Is it nice to say sorry to each and apologized! And always adjust to each other!❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭
That was just about the sweetest episode ever, and the boat looks great out on the water again. Hang in there, guys! We’re all going crazy and driving each other nuts in quarantine!
Thumbs up! Way to own it, Jordan...managing the head trip madness is essential.
Desiree, you are right. Happiness is a choice and the same is true of unhappiness. I'm so happy for both of you. Enjoy each other and your new boat.
Sheesh, we can feel ya on the snapping at each other. Patients is needed yet harder to find in times like these. Add not getting a much needed “break” and a stretch of the legs and its off the charts trying. Kudos on the brownie peace offering! That would 100% work on me. 🤣. -Nikki
🤣 Jordan's brownie game is strong haha!
You both need a big hug so I'm sending one each from sunny England 🤗
Ahhh feel for you guys stuck out there in lock down
Well done finding solution and taking about your emotions !
Another note , love the mechanic tutorials too
I need to learn more !
Love and respect from Ventura California
glassman51 Wonderful advice!
Heart just swelled with the brownie peace offering
You 2 are awesome. Arguments happen its how you work through it. You both are a true inspiration to me and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
It's totally okay to be mad! Own those feelings, accept it, forgive and move on. Thanks for the honesty. Always great.
10:23 I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH! not Allowed to Go to shore? Men and Women must Separate! 0__0 Holy crap!
Great video guys! Keep it up! Helps getting through the quarantine.
You guys are wise way beyond your years. I guess living on a boat together will do that; but you two are an inspiration not only to me, but countless thousands out there. Thank you for your videos. I think they may have more impact than you might think.
Love the overhead shot at the end. Lesson: more swimming, less fussing.
I noticed that too, my question is: if you are swimming around the boat, then who is flying the drone? Can those things fly by themselves?
@@berraquito I'd love to hear the technical response to that question too. I was given an awesome DJI drone for Christmas and I know it can do some pretty amazing pre-programmed moves but I'd love to hear from more experienced users before we demo ours at anchor and potentially crash it (in salt water!). That was a very cool shot!
Yea loved that closing someone's going to die someone's going down, I know you was just joking there but if I was you I wouldn't mess with her if I was you lol
How many boat lapses have you done that day?)))
@@jackielight6908 Don't mess with her. Definitely don't.
When you have a woman as priceless as her ,you have to treat her priceless.
This kind of male feminism is why it's so hard to have relationships in today's age.
Thank you for that last part when your speaking! Those few words touched my soul and hope touches my wife’s durning struggling moments we all have ran into! Kind words go a far way! Wish u nothing but happiness and luck durning ur life journeys!
-1 and snowing in the mountains of Alberta Canada today . I'll trade places , right now lol
Zane Kreider Well Zane it is a sunny warm day in Cheshire in England but I would swap it any day to be in the snow in Alberta I miss and love Canada so very much....best wishes to you .
Lol live in Calgary there is always snow on the mountains ⛰😉
And there's no HOCKEY!
Lots of love to you guys, I've been watching your videos for a while now. It's all awesome. Stay safe and love each other. Cheers from Maldives 😘
On my catamaran I find if I store spray cans upside down they don’t lose the propellant while in storage between uses.
THANK YOU AGAIN, Jordan I need some of your mentality I haven't exercised in a while I just walk around the house, it is not enough. I am very glad for you two. Take care.
Jordan you a brave man to take apart anything over the water.
Dude, first rule in the Navy, "don't piss off the cook!"
Been there and know that!
Wanna be friend?
It's the same way in the Army, don't ever piss off the cook! 😝
@@Joseph1431431 Yes! Promise I don't have corona virus 😙
Thank you guys for sharing such a vulnerable moment and in most families a very private one. You handled it very well and are a great example of working through it from your heart.
Thanks buds! Love ya!
Great work on each other and for each other, it is even greater for you to share your feelings with all of us. Thank you you're awesome
Set the can of carb cleaner in the sun for a bit. The heat will increase the pressure in the can
I love the openness you two shared, regarding the difficulty of living on a boat, essentially stranded.
BREATHE. you're welcome.
You nailed it Des. Great episode and great insight. I too believe that happiness is a choice... both directly and indirectly. Thanks to you both for all that you share!
Resolving conflict and relationship problems are the most important skills in a relationship
Respect to both of you for showing you are human. You are both amazing!
What dietmar is saying, stop talking to each other so much. Women love talking, but if you answer, it will only get you in trouble.
It's truly always wonderful watching yall. Thank you for sharing the real, the good, the bad, the exciting, the difficult and it all. We look forward to seeing everything back up and running.
I am by myself and I had the SAME discussion with myself two weeks ago!!! tough times...but, you have this person there who is crazy about you...don't lose sight of that!!!
Hello Hairyscotman;I too am by myself and I too have had the SAME discussion with myself...unfortunately I wont listen to a word I say to me so now I'm really pissed off at me...
Good thing there's just the two of us in here...........who was that.....?
@@deanfarina8968 HaHahaha Me too. Me , Myself and I and we have a 37-foot liveaboard cat, but we never get sick of each other's company, although sometimes we get very lazy and disappoint each other a little bit. My "Desiree" got off the boat twenty six years ago. Lol.

KEEP ROCKIN' BUDS!!!
Wow, you guys are arwsome... Sharing the tough times with your fans. You keep it so real... Makes me feel a part of your lives. My thoughts and prayers go with you.
I'm not crying, you're crying!
So, when you guys are swimming laps at the end, who's piloting the drone? Autopilot? Swim, Forest, swim!
Boo hoo hoo. I am
Yes...I was wondering that as well....who is in comand lf the drone?
WOW, opening up your innermost soul to all and sundry and ownig up to your issues is truly remarkable. Understaning them amongst yourselves is also so good. I can only say to you two that this can only make your special bond even stronger. Keep on looking at the bright side, let the small things go and of course the things you can not change, just ignore.
My wife and I have been married 38 years and have only had one argument that's the good news but the bad news is the one argument has lasted 38 years
😂😂😂🤣🤣
As a coach and counselor, I can't say enough how proud of you I am for working through your problems. No marriage is exempt from stress and tension. Communication, acceptance/patience and an honest, "I am sorry", go a long way toward resolution. If you need a friend, reach out to me. But you're doing a lot of things right.
So proud of you two for having the guts to share your more challenging times and then becoming stronger as a result. Excellent vid! 🌞⛵️🌞
You guys are so awesome! Thank you for sharing yourselves, and your raw, and very real, world.
That drone shot at the end...who was operating the drone when you two were swimming laps around Atticus?!
There's a beacon that the drone uses to fly in a preset pattern. 👍
