You're right. I was wondering about these differentations and you satisfied me much with your answer. Thank you for your comparison. Rechargeable battery and the looper with pedals has the point...
Two channel is useless on this aml because it takes too long to switch the channels and getting the timing right is not easy. It gets out of sync even during the looping function with the drums.

I was with the THR10 and THR10X and the Micro Cube MK1 at the same time. Out of the box the THR10x and the micro Cube sounds best almost by far. But after saving some filters and tricks the THR10 is the best, and the best taking pedals.
@@MrPolevaulter it's undeniable that even that I don't love that much the JCM channel on Micro Cube this channel feels good to play, for practice it's really really good, and even with the Warp Drive that I have sounds nice on the two clean channel there. These days I am thinking that especially for beginners, it might be better to consider the option of an amp simulator on laptop combined with good quality headphones. I know that it won't suit everyone - but 'the yute of today' are so accustomed to working with digital interfaces that they could have a lot of fun with an amp sim.

For the price of a DC-15S, in the Joyo brand , I personally would prefer a Joyo Bantamp (pick the voiced model you want) with a small cab plus a cheap pedal or two for the effects loop
The way I see it, the whole point for this thing is the battery. That's it. Portable. Sort of. P.s. Most modern multi-effects units have a drum machine. Usually a better one.
idk I think as a kid starting Id have loved to have a drum machine and the looper to create rhythms and then be able to practice leads over them...metronomes little clicks are not loud, and its a totally different vibe then playing with drum beats...when I was a kid I used to practice by tryinging to rig up a keyboard through one small amp to use its drum beats and then another amp for my guitar, and if i wanted to sing I needed yet another amp..also if I understand right this is recharable and can be taken out to play for several hours...A guy could set up a simple beat and play along at little coffee shop gigs where its not loud just casual background playing and such.
Great video Elmo! Your disappointment was clear as could be and I couldn't agree more. It's a very disappointing amp from Joyo since they're tube hybrid heads are actually really, really good. I finally had a chance to play through a Koyo Mjolnir head and was very impressed. That amp that you just reviewed sounded like a kids toy.
Only amp under 200 with a looper build in? As far as I can find. Am considering this one (189 Euro) to replace the micro cube. Bluetooth is from this era Elmo. If only it works for headphones.
A friend gave me a H B Monoprice cabinet that the amp part was gone. Just the Celesion 12" speaker and the reverb tank. Put in a jack and hooked up a Hotone Mojo Diamond head (Fender Tweed) to it. For $60 best loud practice amp. The 70/80 speaker is pretty awesome for free. Funny thing is replace the speaker is the first mod to these amps when stock but I'm loving this speaker.
What I've heard over YT the Katana Mini and Roland Cube are the better entree level/practice amps. Yet I'd save up or stretch it to something that will be a potential keeper regardless of the upgrade journey. So my advice is to try a Champion 40/50xl or DUAL Cube LX or Katana 50 or DSL-1. They go for about €220-280 new and used I've seen a mint Champion 40 for €150. The Code25/50 can sound allright but need a lot if tweaking...a lot! There is also the Fender GTX50 that as a package is great but goes for about €440 new. My point being spending some more might save you money (more than you put into your first/practice amp).

I have to agree with another viewer here. It has a sense of inexplicable cuteness about it. And overall he's right. But I think it depends on how you define the purpose of a practice amp. If you're only looking for a reasonable thumbnail of a particular tone, that's something that can usually be done on just about any of them. However, how does it sound while doing this? How you weight these out is up to you as a player. But if it doesn't sound good and can't deliver the tone in a good proximity? ehhhh...
Hi Elmo.I unfortunately bought this amp back in 2021 and I did try to return it but they wouldn’t accept it back as it was out of the free return period.I agree wholeheartedly with you.I only use this now as a overpriced acoustic amp but most frustrating is the drum machine as there is no manual control of the tempo and trying to get a specific tempo is a tedious process. Just about every other guitar teacher will tell you practicing with looping is essential for both better timing, feel for music, and learn from hearing yourself. Maybe you are a pro you don’t need that but most certainly must of us. So as portability so we can noodle practice anywhere. So built in long life battery massive 15 hrs! And looper are big features that make this amp special. As none of the Boss, Yamaha, Sparks can do that. Literally only just this and Vox go and the new top end Nux Space and this Joyo is cheaper than all of them. I have this and Nux tiny mighty air and this air size is just about right for portable and give far fully sound over Nux Air. Effects aren’t the best on this amp but for practicing I pick a looper over a good delay any day. I think you miss the point of this amp.
You do not need a looper. You can play over backing tracks or actual music. Loopers can be fun, but they aren't essential. Besides you can get more variation in a backing track than with a looper, which will just loop stuff.
These tiny amps are kind of outdated now. Better to get a budget amp modeller w/effects and just play through any half decent computer speakers or boom box you've got laying around. You can upgrade later to a real amp.
Alternative: get FENDER MUSTANG LT 25 Amp - The cord delivererd wih the amp is too short. Buy a longer one. - Buy a long micro usb to full usb cable - Download the Fender Tone Software on your PC . - Plug the amp into your PC (usb 2.0 port) With Fender Tone open , the amp will get updated . You can then use your PC to pick amps and effects and mod them on the fly.
GAH! IMHO, built-in effects like delay, reverb etc. have no place in a practice amp. After all, you’re using it to practice, so you want to clearly hear what your playing sounds like without all that gobbledygook. As far as Joyo, they do make some other decent low-end products. I’m current using one of their JF-23 overdrive pedals which while not fantastic, is good enough for my amateur purposes (especially given its modest asking price, US$40). They also produce some nice accessories, like clip-on tuners that I find handy for stuff like for changing strings.

Few more things from me after dealing with this little guy for a while
Things that are cool:
- has BT
- can be used on battery power
- has some built in presents for absolute noobs (but here also comes in a first con, as there is close to no customization to sound, and you simply won't learn shit about signal chain)
Things that suck:
- If you tweak knobs to point where you like sound including amp knob, once you power off and on this combo, it all goes into shit, what's more you need to move knobs out of position and back in to restore the sound (they all restore to 5 but then snap to current value as soon as you move the knob) only volume knob is not affected by this somehow
- It turns off power automatically after 5 minutes of idling, usually not a problem, unless you go to do something, then add annoying point no.1 to this and you know why this is annoying
- Presets or rather preset you make is safe of course until you torn off power
Loudness is good for a noob like me, the less people hear me playing the safer I feel
I dont think any of those settings are different from each other...I am so confused...
I know what you mean.
Better off sticking with one of the Bantamps
If it has a looper then that is a huge plus for me and is definately not "just bells and whistles"
But you could buy a Looper for less than half the price, and use it with a far better amp.
Just not much variation between the gainy sounds, actually had a bit of a plexi copy sound to it.
what I meant is it sounded low gainish only really reaching crunch or low OD, never overdrive 1 or 2 style. Def NO METAL!
I think I would prefer to practice without the amp switched on, it would sound much better used that way.

Yeah man, drum machines, synthesizers, modular systems, daws, you can put anything on the right phone these days.
True. Cheers mate!
I have this amp. Its sounds shit. I only kept it for the looper and built in drums to pratice at home
