I much prefer the old design. The lighter color and different font look a lot better in my view. I would love to own a vintage Rolex Pepsi GMT Master someday.
i think the designers did a mistake with the subs and gmts, they wanted to improve them, i know they are now more robust, stronger etc... they just became ugly unfortunately, they didnt need to make them bigger like this... now people will say, because of the new calibre, well i guess this is not an excuse what they did with explorer for example was ok( 214270 Mk1)
While I like both models, there's no doubt the 16710 wins in terms of customization. With 3 bezel colors (pepsi, coke, black) and 2 bracelet types (oyster, jubilee), where else can you find a Rolex watch that can have 6 different looks? With that said, I may be partial to the 16710 because I own one. I'm sure if I had a chance at purchasing the 126710 I'll love that one too. :)
The 16710‘s bezel looks much more gorgeous in my opinion. Also love the fact that the oyster band on that one is fully brushed and the middle links not polished. With that said both are nice watches and the 72 hours power reserve in the new one are something to consider in comparison to the classic... Any ways my choice would still be the 16710, because I like its looks more and the price isn’t as crazy!
yes the blue and red on the ceramic pepsi look dull for some reason compared to the aluminum bezel peps which is strange because the ceramic black and blue on the batman can look vibrant.
I bet you get the white gold Pepsi next. That's what I'm doing. I'm going for the dark blue dial. Meteorite doesn't do it for me. White gold, oyster bracelet on a GMT, and dark blue dial with the Pepsi bezel. GMT perfection.
Very well made video, as usual. I have mixed feelings here : overall features and quality of the newer GMT with the exact same bezel colors of the old one would be ideal.
I have owned the 126710BLRO (new Pepsi jubilee) for a while now and I'm picking up a 16710BLRO, "error sticks dial", next week. Full set--box, papers, tags, booklets, and warranty card (which proves it started as a Pepsi since it has a "B" after the model #--not a bezel swap on something that started as a Black or a Coke...which happens all of the time). One owner--and I know him. Never polished, never serviced, and sat around for a long time. Great find! Mine is a 2007, Z serial, and it is one of the first to come with the new plastic warranty card (not a piece of paper). Not sure if I will love the 16710 more than my Pepsi jubilee but I'm guessing I will. I also own the Batman and the Batgirl, but I prefer my Batman since it's the original Batman and I love it on an oyster bracelet.
I’m not wealthy enough to actually buy any of these but I love looking at them and hope to purchase a gmt master 2 some day. Until then love the videos keep making them
Nice review. I own both models. You mention that they’ve upgraded to 904L steel (7.33min), but the 16710 is also made of 904L.. in fact Rolex started using 904L already in 1985
I prefer the new one, if I can get hold of it! Maybe you should talk about the premium price instead of the retail price! I`ve be turned down 6 times over a periode of 1,5 year. The AD:s won`t even put me on a waitlist here in Sweden! If I should buy it, I have to pay 2,1 x the retail price, and maybe that`s the only way for me to get hold of a Pepsi or Batgirl. If I show you in swedish kronor: retail 86.500 SEK Premium price here in Sweden 182.000 SEK! THIS SHOWS HOW EXPENSIVE THE WATCH IS! Thank you for a great structured review, you make good videos all the time, Best wishes Torben😃
8:51 Actually, I don't think it was to distinguish it from the Submariner as much as it was to distinguish it from the Explorer II. Now, the Explorer II is the only way you can get a current production stainless steel GMT from Rolex with the oyster bracelet. I think they're trying to drive differentiation and, thus, demand to the Explorer II by doing that. I own 7 Rolex GMTs. My black GMT and my two Batmen are SS oyster GMTs and look very tooly (I have another oyster GMT, but it's the TT Root Beer). The other three are my two Pepsi jubilees and my Batgirl. They are all beautiful and unique.
I really like both of them. If I had to choose I’d go ceramic due to the jubilee. But I really like the numerals on the aluminum bezel. Great video as always. Thx
The colours on the older watch are better, more distinct, whereas on the newer model the colours lack the same vibrancy. One question if I may, the Jubilee bracelet on the GMT looks to be wider at the clasp compared to the Jubilee on a DateJust, do you know if the bracelets are the same on the two watches? Overall I would have to plump for the new version, the quality is clearly a big step up, albeit the older version is still a very desirable watch.
I have my grandpas 72 gmt and I love it but I would be lying if I didn’t say I’m a bit jealous of watches that have working lume. Mine kinda lights up if I shine a flashlight on it for a while. Bet it was cool back in the day
Both are fantastic products of their time . Impossible to compare it’s like comparing an e type jag to a modern Ferrari they both have superb qualities..
Once they correct the colours on the new Pepsi and make them proper red and blue, these one (purple and raspberry) will be something collectors will go crazy for in about 30 years .. Also, would love to see how the ceramic will age in a few decades. I bet it will make some crazy stuff.
I'd love to see a series of videos where you go over the history of a given model. Even with pictures it would be really enjoyable. Great vid and congrats on purchase. Vintage would look great on jubilee bracelet.
Great review 👍 but it’s harsh about the 5 year warranty. If your the original owner it should be life time. My Rip Curl Detroit Auto with a Citizen movement has a 5 year warranty and I’ve had it for 6 as an every day watch and doesn’t skip a beat
Both beautiful but the newer one is preferred. Its just a much better watch period, in every regard. In years to come, they'll be even more expensive and desirable than now
Both beautiful watches. However, in my opinion the proportions are perfect in the older 16710. Also the colors on the aluminum bezel look better...more genuine I shall say...Ceramic, although more resistant and not prone to fading, looks more like plastic to me. I guess, the 16710 is perceived more like a sophisticated high quality tool, while the 126710 is more like jewelry. Preference is something personal. To me, the 16710 does it all the way.
Nice video..... I am getting my new pepsi very soon.... Was contemplating between batman or pepsi..... I think pepsi stand out because of the red blue contrast......😀👍 Well done💫💯
Great review. The one I have been waiting for. Thank you. Overall, I think I prefer the 126710 (but it’s close). Hopefully I will get one when the AD calls me in 10 years time 😂
Not a real Pepsi...those ceramic colors are off...blue is purple and red is pink....Rolex can’t get the colors right....amazing review and comparison....I’ll stick with the 06....but rather an 87 with the jubilee and real Pepsi colors
The " last true classic " Rolex stainless steel wristwatches have lugholes in the case... 2002 models are the one to get as lugholes will never make a comeback !
I prefer the new one ; I had a few old ones in my hand and don't like the way they feel. They feel cheap ; I wouldn't pay that much money for a watch that fell so cheap.
Thats okay that we most of us likes the new rolex and specially the narrator but comparing both the watches for the current time and expecting the old one to bear all of 'em, all the good qualities as of current time is totally WRONG ! please guys and i request the narrator @londonwatchcollector not to state that the old one is NOT better. Rather ask those people who bought the same Rolex in 2006, I am pretty sure that they will only smile at you and your new rolex instead of proving themselves to be the best. #RESPECT #VINTAGE
Put myself on the list for the new pepsi when i picked up my sd 43 so far nothing still waiting as im waitin for ss sky dweller ah well thats how it is I guess.
You hear the way the clasp closes and the snap it makes? That’s should be one of the first thing to do when suspecting a fake! If you have a good ear you can spot a difference!
Greetings from Dubai had to get my LWC fix even on holiday 😂🤣😂. Love both the watches vintage would suit my wrist better because of the smaller luggs but would have them both grsat review as always 🙂
I prefer new Omega Seamaster Professional 300m. Not a sucker on Rolex. Omega have new design, bold and appealing to the younger generation. Plus a new movement withstanding 15,000 gauss anti magnetic.
I much prefer the old design. The lighter color and different font look a lot better in my view. I would love to own a vintage Rolex Pepsi GMT Master someday.
I prefer the old one ! She has something that make it more "iconic".
me too
i think the designers did a mistake with the subs and gmts, they wanted to improve them, i know they are now more robust, stronger etc... they just became ugly unfortunately, they didnt need to make them bigger like this... now people will say, because of the new calibre, well i guess this is not an excuse
what they did with explorer for example was ok( 214270 Mk1)
Love the old one much more than the new one, more classy and elegant
Slap the new bracelet on the old Pepsi and you got the PERFECT Rolex Gmt 😎
So true.
Would love to see the warranty card be changed for paper again. It feels more special as a certificate.
I like the old one better, probably 'cause I love vintage watches. I might get the old one after watching this video
5:30 for those who really care about the watch and not some pieces of paper
Alum basel colours and shine looks much better. But overall quality of new one is a great advantage.
I stil prefer 16710, the slimmer lug n aluminium bezel is classic.
So true, I wear my 16710 Coke more than my new Pepsi or Submariner
I am still attracted to the old (vintage) Pepsi. Maybe because I grew up seeing it more often.
While I like both models, there's no doubt the 16710 wins in terms of customization. One is classy 😎the other one is flashy🤢
Like many here have said, I prefer the vintage piece.
I like the new Pepsi more than the old one.
The old one looks more cheap, like a replica or an Invicta. Poor made case and bezel.
Very well made video, as usual. I have mixed feelings here : overall features and quality of the newer GMT with the exact same bezel colors of the old one would be ideal.

Hi LWC,
Do you have any watch books (preferably Rolex) that you can recommand? Preferably in the €50-€100 range?
I have the vintage which i bought in 1982 still works perfect. So much class to a perfect watch.
Nice review. I own both models.
You mention that they’ve upgraded to 904L steel (7.33min), but the 16710 is also made of 904L.. in fact Rolex started using 904L already in 1985
Isn't the bazel to dial radius ratio higher in the new model( I.e.) the bazel looks wider
I have prefer new one with the oyster bracelet :)
what website can you recommend to buy luxury watches?
I prefer the new one, if I can get hold of it! Maybe you should talk about the premium price instead of the retail price! I`ve be turned down 6 times over a periode of 1,5 year. Please tell the name of music in starting

I got the old 16710. The red faded a bit. My box is different than what you have shown in the video.
I really like both of them. If I had to choose I’d go ceramic due to the jubilee. But I really like the numerals on the aluminum bezel. Great video as always. Thx
Thank you very much for a great comparison review, like the 16710BLRO.
have you got a 16710 for sale atall or kno any dealer who have?

Please make a update version of your watch collection
Will do 👍🏼👍🏼
I have my grandpas 72 gmt and I love it but I would be lying if I didn’t say I’m a bit jealous of watches that have working lume. Mine kinda lights up if I shine a flashlight on it for a while. Bet it was cool back in the day
Both are fantastic products of their time . Impossible to compare it’s like comparing an e type jag to a modern Ferrari they both have superb qualities..
istill can’t get my head around the bezel colours on the new model
Once they correct the colours on the new Pepsi and make them proper red and blue, these one (purple and raspberry) will be something collectors will go crazy for in about 30 years .. Also, would love to see how the ceramic will age in a few decades. I bet it will make some crazy stuff.
Nikola Jovicic i doubt that. just like the 214270 explorer nobody wants the old version with the small hands; this will be exactly the same.
@@OilBaron Hopefully you are right, I would like to get one of these at least for their MSRP soon! :D
Watchfinder & Co just did a video to explain why the colours don’t pop on the new model. Is interesting and worth a watch 🙂
How do you set the both seconds hand at the same time?
Andrea Zoli. You simply hack both watches to the Greenwich time signal. There's nothing to it.
I'd love to see a series of videos where you go over the history of a given model. Even with pictures it would be really enjoyable. Great vid and congrats on purchase. Vintage would look great on jubilee bracelet.
Great video, very detailed and high-quality comparison. Thank you
Stick dial 16710😍
You have a mandatory wrist shot at the end of a video. Because of 7:45 I think we can all agree the we expect a mandatory lights off shot now as well
Great review 👍 but it’s harsh about the 5 year warranty. If your the original owner it should be life time. My Rip Curl Detroit Auto with a Citizen movement has a 5 year warranty and I’ve had it for 6 as an every day watch and doesn’t skip a beat
Like the old one best! Classier.
New one at retail, better for everyday wear....
Great review, thanks....
The new one is like a young super model. The old one is like an old super model, still hot but, less serviceable.
May I know how much you bought for this?
I so much prefer the new one!
Both beautiful but the newer one is preferred. Its just a much better watch period, in every regard. In years to come, they'll be even more expensive and desirable than now

The new one is better.
Important and valuable video ! Thank you for sharing it !
I slightly prefer the newer version to be honest.
Both stunning nice to have both
One is a toolwatch, the other is luxury equipment
In my humble opinion
The old 16710 is a much more beautiful piece than the new one
Solely because of the bezel color.
Nice video.....
I am getting my new pepsi very soon....
Was contemplating between batman or pepsi.....
I think pepsi stand out because of the red blue contrast......😀👍
Well done💫💯
Cheers, another great vid, there’s certainly a difference in size with the Maxi Case, stunning both watches 👌👌
So this is where all the hard to get Rolex steel is going ! Just messing ha another great video sir .
Great review. The one I have been waiting for. Thank you. Overall, I think I prefer the 126710 (but it’s close). Hopefully I will get one when the AD calls me in 10 years time 😂
Nice watch Mark
3 and a half minutes until you see a watch. Good comparison vid tho
Band - New Bezel #’s-New Bezel Colours- Old Lugs - New All Other Parts - Tie
The new one is by far the better looking watch. Its also better built.
Obviously the new one. Better watch in every aspect.
5-digit > 6-digit imho
Not a real Pepsi...those ceramic colors are off...blue is purple and red is pink....Rolex can’t get the colors right....amazing review and comparison....I’ll stick with the 06....but rather an 87 with the jubilee and real Pepsi colors
I have the old rolex🤠
Really nice...you are the best watch reviewer
The " last true classic " Rolex stainless steel wristwatches have lugholes in the case... 2002 models are the one to get as lugholes will never make a comeback !
I love the new 1
Will you buy a watch like the Grand Seiko?
I prefer the new one ; I had a few old ones in my hand and don't like the way they feel. They feel cheap ; I wouldn't pay that much money for a watch that fell so cheap.
Good comparison - but you still haven’t confirmed how much you’ve paid for the 2007 pepsi? Thanks.
You should do a hublot review, or are they not your type (style) ??
16710!!!!!
I prefer the new one ☝️
The old one is lovely but I'm ceramic all the way! Pepsi for life!
16710 looks better on your wrist imo.
Put myself on the list for the new pepsi when i picked up my sd 43 so far nothing still waiting as im waitin for ss sky dweller ah well thats how it is I guess.
Finally got the call after 18 months
I like the old design, I own the Coke 2007... I think the new bezel is ugly
I get ceramic. Had the Hulk. But appearance wise the aluminum bezel is far more attractive.
Lucky man
Old one looks much nicer!
Damn that 16710 looks brand spanking new
Neither
The new bezel looks awful
I had one from 2006 got stollen , feel sick how much worth now
How?
I prefer new Omega Seamaster Professional 300m. Not a sucker on Rolex. Omega have new design, bold and appealing to the younger generation. Plus a new movement withstanding 15,000 gauss anti magnetic.
They look the same.
