My laptop had overheating issues in sleep mode. I would have my laptop on my lap in bed and after I was done I would close it then slide it to and part of the bed, then go to sleep or leave, where it would be charging or not. It was fine at first it would just cool down and charge if I had it plugged in. But then one day I woke up and it was hot. So I let it cool. It was completely dead. Then I brushed it of as the laptop was ok. Then, it happened again. Then, I was like "Ok." It kept happening for while and I didn't think it was ok anymore so I decided to just shut it down everytime which was very annoying. Sometimes times I would forget and it would heat straight back up. I dealt with it for months, though I didn't use it to much. I only play games but when I got bored of them I wouldn't touch it for a while as I use my school issued laptop for work I need to do. I don't know why I didn't think about searching it up just a few days agoat first, but I did and the answer was there. There was a glitch that made it do this. When you close the lid the the laptop would sense it and and put itself to sleep, but the glitch was that the laptop would fail to sleep and wake up as a result. The laptop will not check if the lid is closed again so it stays awake and the CPU continues carrying out tasks which causes heat. Though, I not sure if the fan is operational during this time. If it got too hot the motherboard would shut it down but I don't think it did considering the whole battery died which leads me to believe the fans were operational. To fix the glitch I had to put it in hibernation mode rather than sleep mode.
I have interl icore 3 windows 11. I cannot see the high and power saver option. What to do?
You're a freaking lifesaver man, I thought I would have to crack open my 11-month-old laptop and replace the thermal paste.

Glad it helped

Bro it's prefect but I noticed my system getting slow after this ..is it gonna harm to the processor for long term use or not?
@@jagdishsidharth8781 your computer will run slow at lower clock speeds. So find a perfect balance. For me, while watching movies and all, low works well!

thank you very much man
Wow thx man my laptop was in 50+ even reaching 60-70 when idle. After doing what you told it dropped to 40s .
It's still the same. I have this problem ever since i bought my laptop 3 years ago. Normally it gives me 2.5-3hr backup on full battery. The problem is laptop gets hot, cpu gpu temp over 60 degrees, fan runs faster and the better goes from 100 to 0 in like 40/50minutues. Sometimes the laptop works just fine and gives the full backup even now. When it works fine cpu and gpu temp is 35-45degrees with cool breeze coming out. I don't what actually makes it happen and haven’t found any solution. Last year it was fixed automatically and was working fine for few months but when i had to reinstall windows the problem started happening. Over the year i tried linux and chrome os, they give over 2hr backup with full charge. Even with fresh windows installed with no unnecessary stuff running, when idle it just drains my battery and once in a while it works fine. It's like it has a mind of it's own.
Damn.
Thnx bro my laptop cooled in 30 seconds
Aww I'm so glad!

Ofcourse not the lowest, and I think not the max. I use max only when I'm exporting videos from premiere!

when i created the low and very low plans, my brightness decreased way too much. Is there any way i can use my pc in low power plan without disturbing the brightness level
The brightness levels can be changed! And it will stay there )
Cool video like my laptop ;)
ah!
Thank you fr!
My pleasure!
which power plan do I have to use when I play games? because my pc always overheat when I play games. I wanna try this but idk which one should I use low, very low or high?
For gaming, you have to create another power-plan.
Low and very low will increase lag in Game.
High will overheat.
If you want to, I can tell you how to create the Game power-plan.
@@AdarshJon yes please. How to create it?
@@vtrvstedlina2889 Create a new plan -> Balanced -> name it "game" and click next -> click create -> click on Change Plan Setting (like I did in the video at 1:40) and follow exactly what I did, but instead of 55 like I entered, enter 98 (for gaming) and click Ok. This plan will give you good performance but with less heating.
@@AdarshJon Thank you so much man, you helped me so much! I thought my laptop got a malware or something, it was just the power option problem
Annoyingly, lots of us with a employer given work laptop go into the power options and only "balanced" is in there. All I can do is go to the battery widget in the taskbar and slide the battery slider as far left as it goes to "better battery"... it's better than nothing but I don't think it drops the cpu base freq.
The other thing that annoys me in windows that linux does better is you can't even easily see harmless information like cpu and memory stats without going into Admin rights mode.
Windows would be better off to have a tool to simply see cpu% and memory and other stats in a readonly mode so ordinary users can just see what app is using max cpu . If I want to kill off some processes, then I'd have the option to go into admin rights mode for that. It happens that I do have admin rights but sometimes by the time I go through getting to admin mode and get the task manager going the process has gone away and it's behaving again. Linux is so easy to see process info in that I can catch misbehaving things much easier.
In linux I can easily see cpu% and memory in many ways and being admin doesn't even enter into it. (top, smem, ps -ef, htop, glances, Ctrl+Esc in KDE to see System Activity menu, etc)
Huh! that's a bummer (
Thanks alot bro it was best one
please tell me about downloading gta v in free to 😅
Thanks a lot!
Sir from where do u get clock speed knowing dialogue box
task manager.
ctrl + shift + esc, then to the performance tab.
Thanks bro
Cheers!
Will try this out the next time my laptop craves to cook something desperately :p
Haha lol! 😜 Okay 👌🏼
My friend do you play the new game dragons dogma 2 maybe can you help me what power plan I could use for that game? Which lowers my heat temperature then balance the game? Please
Hey, it would be best you just experiment with the values and see what works best for you.
I'll try this for sure! 🥰
Great for when you're watching a movie (and don't want to unnecessarily power the CPU)
This is correct with power saver plan. The temperature will go way lower . I tryed my self . The only problem the games will play like shit.
Make more videos of these categorie 🙏🙏🙏 please
Any suggestions?
This would be a WHOLE lot more useful as a plain document, where I could actually see what is being changed, rather than some video flipping through settings before you can see them.
Maybe pause the video or just rewind 🤯
Thank u
You're welcome!
Thnxx bro

Thanks, pal! 🤗
Bro if i change processor maximum 75 any prblm or not my laptop.?
No problem, man. It will just become even slower, that's all.
thanks now my pc wont start fire in the key words.
Haha glad I could help!
Will affect this in games?
Yes. It will get less hot during gaming, but the fps will drop a bit. Try it out.
But this is hard to change plans every time it depends on what I am doing sometimes I play game and sometimes I do photoshop, watching movies or whatever it’s just annoying to change plans over and over again you know :(
Always put on low. When gaming or while using Photoshop, use the higher setting.
@@AdarshJon Alright 👍🏼
My laptop always shuts down due to overheating when i'm playing the sims 4 after 15 mins. Should i use the Low option while playing?
Putting on low will decrease the fps you'll get in the game. Try it and see if you're okay.
Try lowering the graphic effects in the game and limit your fps with a software to reduce the heat.
@@AdarshJon thank you for the advice! but i tried playing on the Low option, lowered the graphics in the game and it still shut down after like half an hour. plus the fans in my laptop were soo loud i could pratically hear them across the room and the temperature in my laptop was 90°C while i was playing. :( i dont know what to do anymore
Problem still not fixed?
@@AdarshJon no :(
Wow man you are opiest 🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
woah woah, thanks!
This method works for few months but gradually your laptop will die. You will have to keep reducing processor speed. Its better to look for the root cause of overheating.
Running cpu at maximum clock speed at all times is the root cause ig
Root cause for me was the unusually high clock speed while doing nothing. Fixing that fixed it. Root cause for you might be something different. Cheers!
Hello brother I recently bought a new laptop lenovo ideapad 5 15alc05 ryzen 7 5700u. My laptop is heating...... But i don't know if it's normal or really problem.
