The whistle note is really hard to hit because it uses the upper part of the throat and not the lungs at all. It's easy to accidentally strain. She did it perfect!

Beeyeon Ahn lol she uses her upper register in earlier parts of their career which is VERY uncomfortable for her. Up and Down, Ah Yeah, LIE are some examples. The first single I noticed Hani using her comfortable register was in Night Rather Than Day and DDD.
Beeyeon Ahn gurl, stop being so pressed. We are not attacking anyone. We all love Hani and EXID here. We were just pointing out that Hani's strongest and HEALTHIEST register is low to middle and there isn't anything wrong with that. And I don't think you know music that well so I'm going to stop here. Peace.

John Paul Santos I still personally think that Hani’s lines in DDD were still a bit high for her. It was like a nasally/head voice that seems difficult to do especially when dancing. Night Rather Than Day was definitely Hani’s era!

Thanks for this, girls! This version of "Lady" is classy and almost mystical, a very different vibe from the original, that is more fresh and upbeat. Love both.
LE's rap skills slay me, she knows how to make her own rap flow in any beat, I love to listen to her especially in their b-sides because she always does wonders when sometimes a rap might have not fitted in a song. Also, the rap parts in EXID's songs are always so well placed and it sounds amazing, one of the few groups that does it smoothly.
And then there is Hyerin with her vocals and that note in 1:49, I'm so proud of her and how much she has improved in a short period of time, especially her confidence 💪 Hani's husky and low voice goes amazingly well with the song, ugh... I love her vocal color, it's so pretty and different from others in the industry. And then Jjong that keeps improving and also did a great job, she's always trying her best, to the point she even started to write and compose her own music.
It still impresses me the fact that these girls (Solji included) are being ignored by a lot saying they aren't interesting and they don't have talent. Like... Really?
Discount Xiumin other idols get more attention because they are from the top three companies, and Exid gets partially ignored.
Discount Xiumin They are ignored by a lot although if you aren't part of the fandom you wouldn't believe it, some people think they aren't interesting because they have a misconception about them for having a sexy concept in most of their comebacks, that's the truth. People tagged them even before knowing them, that's why when someone watches a video of EXID being themselves and says: "Wow, I didn't think they were that talented... I didn't think they were this honest and funny, etc...", it doesn't impress me anymore. EXID is one of the few K-Pop girl groups in the industry with a lot of misconceptions because of their concepts. Even people say their music is shit when they didn't even listen to one of their albums songs. And I can go on...
Either way, I'm happy because every time they make a comeback, they receive a lot of support and "Lady" was a great discovery for a lot of people to know who they really are, or at least a part of it.

Things I love about this version:
-Hani's smooth and charming voice (seriously, she needs to sing like this more often)
-LE's mix of rapping and singing
-Hyelin's soft voice together with her growls and high notes
-Junghwa's voice!!! I'm blown away by her improvement tbh, she sounds so good

They all have such lovely soft voices, I wish they would sing soft and low more often.
"Low" for jeonghwa may be a relative term, but her voice is so soft and smooth, it's ok that she doesn't have much low range. She can go higher than anyone else. (Not counting high notes)
Hani, Hyerin, even LE can sing so soft and low, like the old school "crooners and purrers". Stuff like Sinatra or Dean Martin. I love it when they purr.

EXID does it a lot I think because the members, particularly LE, are heavily involved in the production and studio work. Most singers/groups don't have that much control, but it would be cool to see more of it.

Yes! At first I thought it was Hani's voice.
She always does good job filling those parts. Sometimes the title "vocal" or "subvocal" sounds like it degrades someone's competency, but jeonghwa's voice is not. She is a respectable one bcs her voice makes the song's richer (at least to me), and she knows how to use it and her voice could well-blend with any type of voice. She is good
