I know I make these things look as legit as they sound. But it is just a fake version of a real track, just using an 808 by itself. The purpose was to just show people how important the Roland 808 was to a style of music in the 80's.
man you have an 808 wow you are lucky bro and respect to the hashim beat check my version quality is not as good but i recreated it ruclips.net/video/Qhp0uMmV5os/видео.html
@@sirsilver1968 - You did an amazing job on yours. Where the problem is which is the case with most recreations is that it's all going through your computer and a program that was built years later. Since Hashim used a raw Roland TR-808, you know the entire rhythm section was coming out of the box itself. I'd actually like to try this again with "Egypt Egypt" by Egyptian Lover.
@@FrankieBones thanks man but i actually programmed the whole beat using my tr08 so the only thing my daw was doing was recording but i have recently purchased the behringer rd8 which is an analog 808 clone ans sounds really dope so much more punch than my tr08 i love it.
@@sirsilver1968 - I first tried it using my TR-8 and it wasn't working out to my liking. So I went to a friend with the patterns written on a napkin and we just did it on his 808.
I just found your channel and instantly subscribed. Im from Philly and my influences came from the dawn of hip hop. Breaking on the street with a broken down cardboard box. Rocking TI windbreakers, shell tops and MAB painter hats. Then i hit the graffitti stage bombin tunnels and rooftops along the EL line. Hip hop wasn't a fad it was a culture. I grew up in hood that was really diverse. Im white but my hood was black, white and Puerto Rican. They were the good ol days when shit was pure and it wasn't commercialized. Im 45 and still keep up with the newest sounds 6ix9ine, Bobby Shmurda, NBA, Trippie red and so on. I don't know why im telling you this but I think its because of your awesome detailed descriptions sparked up my reminiscing. But bottom line is i love your creativity and originality.
Thanks for taking the time to upload and to also write a little. Love the new stuff as well - Front to the Back was one of the heaviest tracks of last year.
Ayo Frankie, as a tribute to the (mostly unrecognized) latino influence on electro / old-school hiphop, how about a mashup of "We Come to Dub" by the Imperial Brothers with Willie Colon's "El Dia de Suerte"? I tried but I'm useless without my tables. By the way I'm pretty sure we met at a Park Rave in the Whitestone-Bronx bridge...literally inside that bridge, good times.

Wow this is the purest dope available anywhere!
Subbed. I have exactly the same obsession with certain beats from the 80s and almost exclusively from the 808. :)
Dam, Every time i hear this tune, I just see myself cutting up "Its Time" Like I'm Cash Money or something. 👊🏽👀
