I am now 70, & shall never visit your country, because I would need to be fluent in your language, listen to the people, & understand your different culture, not just "look in" from the outside. I would much prefer to work there for several years (doctor). I know rural life is very tough indeed, none of the luxuries of city dwellers, because I worked on some remote Northern islands in the UK - Shetland - when I was 30. That was easier than rural China! City life brings much better living conditions, but also a big loss - the loss of community, the loss of awareness, & respect for nature. There are so many things about Chinese culture which I like & admire. I often wish that the West would learn from the good things & change. I sometimes think that the only things China can learn from us are the mistakes to avoid, but that is a rare "mind set" in the West now, - to look at the good in others & correct the faults in oneself! So I much prefer the Chinese videos to those made by people from the West. It's the nearest I can get to a dream which cannot be fulfilled & still learn a little. Just saying, because it might surprise you that there are Westerners who respect difference, with no desire to change you from your ways. I know you have plenty of good doctors in China, who could do the job as well, if not better than me. I simply feel it is wrong to take, without giving something, & my skills are all I have to offer.
