OMGEE what a beautiful video. What a beautiful skater. I had no idea these were actual named ballet movements. I just thought he was fabulously graceful!!!! I suspect the judges know these movements... I sure hope so. God Bless Nathan. You are our champion of grace and beauty!!!
Nathan Chen's graceful and elegant movements on the ice from a very young age until 2018 accompanied by a beautiful piece of music from La Bayadere... I can feel the love and admiration you have for this young champion. Great choice of music and great job at editing. Thanks, 21 Yamazaki.
This is beautiful, gorgeous work. Thank you for sharing this! I really appreciate it. A lot of people like to whine about Nathan having no artistry/his ballet background not coming across in his skating and it just made me think, 'Uhm, no. His movements are purposeful and NEVER random. I could probably name the ballet positions one by one if I wish.' Glad that I needn't do so. Again, thank you! :D
Nathan, I just wanted to say that I took ballet when I was a little girl. Which is how I got my interest in dancing. I wish I could have done ballet professionally like you. I was a ballet dancer in the past. Then, I lost interest in that. I would have like to ballet dance with you. This is something you and I have in common ballet. This is one of the things you and I have common. Not saying this as a fan. I did like dancing. I would have liked to dance with you even dance with you on the ice.
I don't think these are the exact movements, as I don't think you can directly translate ballet to figure skating, but he does carry himself like a dancer.
How dare this guy have "zero artistry", right? Those people have no idea what they're even saying. As long as it trashes the skater, they're willing to say whatever.
interesting theory that nathan chen is a ballerina but he is more of a technically brilliant skater with his own unique style i would not call him a ballerina
@@grantnoroyan9275 I am afraid we understand ballet very differently. To be specific, as a ballet fan, I LOVE Nathan’s turnout, straighten knees, pointed toes, beautiful port de bras, musicality, overall body alignment, clean fluid technique, etc.. Those take YEARS of ballet training. I also enjoy his nearly abstract style as well as Balanchine ballets. And his sharpness and modernity are just as excited as avant guard ballets. I NEVER mentioned Vincent though. They are very different skaters indeed.
@@21yamazaki33 vincent who? i was just making the point that he is not a ballerina he has some moments that may remind you of this and that is great but he is not near the balletic quality of someone like john curry who won the olympic gold medal in 1976 he was actually like a ballet skater on ice that is all i was saying..........
@@grantnoroyan9275 Well, fortunately, there are always skaters and dancers can vary, so people from different background can find their own amusements. Have a nice day and enjoy the beauty of dancing and skating, ok?

I could watch this all day... the music, the movements, thank you for sharing this !!!
素晴らしい、まるでバレーの演出を鑑賞してる雰囲気に陶酔に落ち込んでる。やっぱり幼少期からの稽古がが大切だ。
I simply adore his style of skating, sleek, elegant and precise.
People who say Nathan is not artistic don’t understand what they are seeing.
I think Nathan is artistic with his skating

This is an amazing video. Thank you for putting it all together.
ネイサン選手が今年の世界選手権で勝った時に、彼のことをただのジャンピングマシーンで芸術性が無いなどと言っていた他選手のフアンは見る目が無いと思っていました。素晴らしい動画をありがとうございます。
Thank You for sharing this awesome video ❤️❤️❤️👏👏
