Ha- The "mangled manic mechanic fingertip" thing! PTSD'd me back to when the freshly machined edge of a head for my Camaro fell over on a freezing day and smashed just the very fingertip of the middle finger of guitar hand. Only thing that hurt worse was when a snapping turtle removed the nail from the same exact fingertip. Superglue and Wild Turkey 101 needed to get through 6 weeks of tour dates. Your Videos...Well done, Guitarslinger Nik,your vids are gold and we appreciate your tone integrity.
There a particular line near the intro of Ain’t gone give up on love on live at Montruex where Stevie’s head twitches along with the lick and it’s so amazingly powerful to watch. I don’t know how to explain what I see and feel when I watch him do that. It’s fucking amazing.
As a beginner yrs ago at 14 this was the SRV song I picked to learn. It took months to get these licks down. At least I picked the greatest. He’s the reason I picked up an electric. Now I improvise with a bunch of players licks I borrowed and made mine. Great job.
Nice one Nik, cool breakdown - the improv near the end sounding great! Good to see your hands have gotten better (apart from that skin shedding 😂) and that amp just sounds godly - the reverb is unreal, non interfering and spooky.
Great breakdown here Nik. Love your content. I've been wondering how to hit that Albert King lick for a while and was having issues with overbending on the G string making my lower strings come in but I feel this breakdown will help me solve that issue. Thanks again man. Could you do a breakdown on May I have a talk with you? I can't seem to find any lessons or material on that one song and I'd love to learn that one.
Nikki when are we getting more videos.. I really look forward to seeing them, and I am sure I'm not alone.. feels like we are hanging out talking music... Hope you're doing well brother... Sending my best. From New York 🙏🏻🤟🏻🎸🔥🤝🏻
Hey there Nik. Love your playing and tone. I have an EVH stealth and an old peavey classic 4x10. What amp would you recommend? JTM45?, Super Reverb? Twin Reverb? Not playing gigs anymore but still want decent headroom.
your pickups look pretty high...I have my neck pickup almost flush with the body of the guitar and I believe SRV had some pretty low pickups.. have you ever tried adjusting them and messing with how different they sound? just wondering
Hi Nik, I have a 64 suoer reverb converted to a head. It’s going into 2x Eminence 12 inch Texas heat speakers. Problem I have it is suoer clean at max volume. Literally no breakup. Really sensitive to play. Picks up every slight touch of pick or fingers and sounds like crap. Would you have any advice. Thanks in advance. Great channel
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 EQ treble 7 Mid 8 Base 2. I removed V1 tube. Tubes are Russian Tung Sol 1804. Put in a new digital rectifier I only use the bright switch off. I took it back to my tech and he said the bias is correct. It’s only producing around 28 watts on his bench. I’m getting around it by running 2 OD pedals 1 set for rythm and one for lead but it’s no where near your tone. I’m thinking maybe the the speakers are to efficient?
Awesome. And you do vibrato right. It’s funny. You tube has made a thing of the waving guitar. Toward s camera and back away. It’s funny. It does absolutely nothing. Sound wise. But 90 percent of RUclips stars do it. Proof it doesn’t work srv Never did it ,bb king never page. Never it the finger in board. Hand rocking back and forth like you do Is exact right way. I might do a video on it . It cracks me up. Before RUclips nobody did that. No everyone is doing it

I'm working on it
Thanks. Are you still doing virtual lessons
Sure
Hello. You play very well. I have concerns about the size of my hands and the length of my fingers, may I know the size of your hands?
This is killer but any chance you can do some vids like this of Jimmie Vaughan’s T Birds era guitar riffs / licks ??? Nick!
Hmm. There is a video on here talking about JLV. But i never covered any pf his licks. To me, the way he played it, was so smooth
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 Absolutely AGREE!!! Perhaps you could think up some cool content 🙌🏻👌🏻

Super reverb is still my fave. Short bottle GE tubes and a little more efficient speaker and you got it
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 I thought you might say the super reverb.
That's what I'm leaning towards.

They can break up with no issue. Kind of odd. Usually all fenders in that 25-45w range will flub out
