Loved this video and series in general! I am also considering leaving London for the funshine of Lisbon/Porto/Madeira! Keep up the good work with your videos 😊😊
Welcome to Madeira.Great Video. I am from Madeira living in London. Do not even start with dentists here in UK it is a mission impossible to see one. If you ever need a hospital or medic i recommend the one near the market down town Funchal MMC Madeira Medical Center they are quick and private and speak English. I hope you enjoy your move.
Hello and thank you for sharing all of your new experiences in Madeira, Pt. I would love to hear your thoughts on renting there and the steps for beginning that process. I look forward to your next video!
Enjoyed watching your vid and welcome to my home island, although like you, I grew up in the British Isles. Barking dogs are a bit of an in-joke over here to those who’ve recently moved onto the island. Good luck with your new life over here!
Good morning from California Sounds like an amazing landscape there. I need to look more into Madeira. Thank you for the video. I’ll be following you to get better info. Happy Travels E
Subscribed. Madeira is stunningly beautiful. I've purchased a house there with the intention of semi retirement and living between the UK and Madeira. Will be there for Sao Pedro next week. Looking forward to hearing more about your journey
Love your all your videos about Madeira, it's the most beautiful place! I'm wondering if you know if you're able to put pre-fabricated homes on land? or are permits very strict with building
Thanks, Yin! It truly is an amazing place to live! I spoke to an architect about this, and my understanding is that you will need planning permission similar to that of building a house
Hello, brave heart ! I absolutely admire your spirit . I have lived in 5 countries and 1 island so far , planning to visit Madeira island for a month to start with in February…, and if the things will go as hoped and planned, then wishing to make it my home. I would love to meet u and have a poncha together perhaps! I am a lone wolf and a gipsy without a horse, therefore I know very well that the freedom and independence can feel lonely sometimes … wishing you all the best on your new journey ! 👍🪶
This video is simply "brilliant"! (as you Brits charmingly say). Thank you so much for making it. Madeira is on my "maybe list" for where to retire. i live in LA. I speak some Brazillian Portuguese, so hope that might help. Thanks too for sharing that dental experience. That sounds amazingly reasonable. I hope you're enjoying this adventure....and look forward to your next videos. Cheers from CA.
Am coming to Madeira for a holiday in September hopefully with my children. I hope I fall in love with it and change our lives for the better. Good for you I lived in Spain and France before having children. Would love to be brave and do it again with my kids and give them a better life. You sharing true life and reality is brilliant. Thank you 😊 💓 would love to know the best local places to visit, restaurants and swimming areas and if you can easily get gluten and or dairy free foods in the supermarket and restaurants.
such a sweet message - I am positive you will have an amazing time here, the island is so family friendly. I haven't looked back :) noted on video requests!
You have you insights & observations to a tee Pheep (I hope that's you name, if not what may I call you?) I'd love to retire there or be brave enough like you to take the plunge once I have a safety net. I'm originally a Chester lad & thanks for your videos as I intend to watch more, if not all! Have a truly beautiful week my dear 🤗
Amazing video, I would recommend for you to visit Porto Santo for a day if you want to enjoy a little break with amazing beach, scenery and food Also you get to enjoy the ferry and seeing dolphins :)
@@Livinginmadeira Nice :) I would recommend doing this trial very early in the morning because it can be super hot after lunch time , I do this walk sometimes when I comeback to Madeira for holidays.
Lovely video, I don´t stop laughing. For Madeira I went to Decathlon to get a nice pair of Salomon hiking boots on sale. Jeff from the Hit the Road Madeira RUclips channel has a lot of good tips.
Hi really nice to find this as I m planning a month in Madeira in January. I m travelling alone so great to see you feel comfortable there alone. Keep the videos coming. Where woulg be a good reasonable priced area near a beach and city. Any info greatly appreciated. 😊
I'm so glad you are enjoying Portugal. I lived there a few years ago, but I found them extremely racist. I'm really surprised that so many black people are moving there. I guess I just had bad luck. I do enjoy your videos, and you are a very beautiful person. Boa sorte!
Hi Teddy, i'm so sorry you had that experience. It's so important to me to be somewhere diverse hence why I picked Portugal and I'm lucky enough to say that I haven't had any issues at all.
As an English-speaking person of color, are there are many other English-speaking folks who of color from countries like the US, Canada, and UK living in Madeira? I considering relocation, but I don't want to feel completely isolated. My Portuguese is pretty decent, due to being raised by Brazilian parents who inly spoke to me in Brazilian Portuguese growing up.
There's a few and I wouldn't move anywhere that didn't have diversity as it is super important to me! One of the biggeest barriers I've had is around language so you will be more than able to establish a local network
@@Livinginmadeira oh Okay thank you! Yes I am. I’ve been to Madeira a few times now and I love it. Would love to move there short term in the near future x

Why did you choose Madeira and what job did/do you do? I agree about living in a different country. Vital.
The climate, the culture and the food :) I was a social worker

My pleasure 😊 tricky but maybe try Camara do Lobos - I find it's one of the cheaper main cities and by a beach, hope that helps!
Can you share some of your favourite restaurants in Madeira please!

Hi Jerry, you can still make the Madeira dream happen. I've heard crypto is a big thing around around here with some shops even accepting BTC
@@Livinginmadeira get rid of BTC ,its a bait ,its a trojan horse ....but XLM instead....just my five cents 🙂
But Portugal doesn't have Marks & Sparks 😮
ha yes but does have PINGO DOCE!
Poncha is not deadly. Unless you go nuts and drink it by the bottle. 😂
