It's really interesting to see Filippo sort of inventing his own sub-genre after all these years following him in hardcore scene. It's a really amazing mixture of hardcore, hardtechno and old-school. Go for it!
The fact he has called it Down tempo is probably to differentiate from "uptempo" hardcore, a style that has become quite prolific over the past decade or so and is 90% garbage in my opinion.
Not to sound braggy or anything at all but, I produce live speedcore music and when I was in Berlin to play the Fuck Parade I was one mouseclick away of sending an e-mail to the HÖR crew. Never sent in the e-mail but I'd be up for it if they are aswell to play there. I just wonder what they allow and not allow. It'd be kickass to do a live hardware set over there! As far as I know this platform is for techno and related is that true?

I'm a DJ from the 80's so I've been involved in Techno since the beginning and Mad dog's tracks and mixes just blow you away. But the thing that hurts my heart is that, the most iconic piece of DJ gear is the Technic 1200 and its being used as a place to rest your headphones. I just imagine all the hands that been on it, all the vinyl thats been through it, maybe even all the scratching and tricks it has done. And now it sits there like an old man at a park watching all the kids play and remembering when himself was that age. Time always moves forward.

@@Azarya_Madness Ja das kenn ich, aber dieser Style wird auch von ihm als "Downtempo" betitelt, um einen anderen Weg einzuschlagen als der momentane Trend "Uptempo", es ist auch teilweise HardTech, teilweise auch Sounds vom Millenium Hardcore, er hat da echt rum experimentiert, ich finds klasse, dass er sich traut, da auch einen anderen Weg einzuschlagen, und das Ergebnis kann sich hören lassen :)
this mixer pult is just a basic hardware in Mr. Mad Dog's universe. a calculator against PC. i was amazed how many unknown devices to me he managed to hook up together in his legendary downtempo set. Mad Dog, Ophidian and Dr. Peacock are my top 3 hardcore artists. in that exact order.
