Die anderen Stropfen, dann der wunderschöner Sclluss, die kalten Winde bliesen mir grad ins Angesicht, der Hut flog mir vom Kopfe ,ich wende mich nicht. Nun bin ich manche Stunde entfernt von jenem Wort, und immer hörf ich's rufen, Du findest Ruhe dort! Ohne die letzten drei Stopfenv fehlt der Sinn, der dem Lied erst seine Sinnhaftigkeit gibt. Rolf
A beautiful voice and very sensitive piano accompaniment! Especially the ritardandos. The German diction is very careful and nearly perfect. Two respectful points of critique: The A sound ( Am Brunnen...) could be even more open, less Oh sounding. And the piano has a slight tuning deficiency in the bass section. Thank you for a beautiful performance of this song!
The narrator, one feels is a young man. I have often turned pages; my aim always is to be unnoticed , and I certainly want and expect no credit form the audience...just a quiet thank you from the pianist, which is normally forthcoming

Herr Appl will zu viel und lässt die Musik und den Text nicht natürlich fließen. Das hat er von seinem Lehrer Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau leider nicht lernen können.
Just as with many of his other RUclips videos, his tone is inconsisent, which most likely indicates a breathing technique problem, and for "head notes" he shifts into falsetto (particularly ugly at 4:22).

I’ve listened to the recording several times now with the manuscript in front of me and he plays accurately - note length, rests, phrasing, accents - all perfectly in concert with the voice. He uses subtle rubato at a couple of points, mainly as a slight pause before the next vocal entry - not distasteful or incorrect .
