The 'mind control toy' is actually a form of biofeedback. This stuff (more complex than this though) has been used in therapy for trauma and other mental illnesses to help control thoughts and flashbacks and it really cool technology! I used to work on some neuroscience research that kinda had the basics of this. What the headband is essentially doing is reading the brain waves that looks like it's coming from the motor cortex of the brain, which deals with movement and spatial arrangement/ balance (different part of the brain but kinda in that general area). What it's essentially doing is reading the frequency of brain waves coming through that area of the brain and changing it to another type of info that tells the ball what to do.

We have something that's really similar to the toy in the video in a science center in norway. The point is to relax or concentrate as much as possible, steering the ball away from you to the opponent's side. The one who controls the ball to the opposing side (first) wins, and it's really fun to play w a friend. Supercool that you know all the info about this !!
