6:33 - I would also like to note that if you are young like me, (12) sometimes the psvr straps on the sides of your head can cause very bad headaches. It also might stop some blood flow, the main problem I had, which causes pain and you have to take the headset off after 20 minutes or so.
Well I heard from other videos you're supposed to use the top strap to hold the weight of the headset rather than the side ones so maybe try loosening the side one and tightening the top? I don't have any experience with this as I've never used a quest before so I'm just going off what I've heard.
Or you just had UV Light somehow in you room. It's invisible to the human eye, but it's exactly what the quest uses. Thats also why the passthrough can't have colors. Because it doesn't see red, blue, yellow,... light. Just UV.
I was thinking the exact same thing... then I thought about it. I have cams in all common areas in the house so when the lights go off the IR automatically turns on from the cams which allows the quest to see everything just fine.
@@neole894 the psvr is old and the quest 2 has newer processors and the only reason I went from psvr to a quest is the tracking, the tracking is annoying when trying to do something that the camera cannot see and you cannot put a second or third camera to help tracking
The fact that we are still comparing other vr systems to the psvr (even though the system is 5 years old) is amazing. I have both and I like them both. The high refresh rate on ps makes the games look really smooth and with less hiccups. The quest 2 has had a couple hiccups on some games. But, I think the psvr2 will provide a lot better gaming experience compared to the psvr1 and in some ways better than the quest2.

A 2016 model vs 2020 model, I’m actually surprised to know that the older model still has so many good points to put itself out there. I think PS will release a new version soon since they have PS5 out now. Can’t wait to know how it would compare then.
Problem really is the limited games you can play on the PlayStation platform. Games might not be compatible with the PS4 in the future so you might need to get a new console as well $$$
The PSVR is basically a dinosaur it has tech from 10 years ago and sony is trying to sell it for 350 !!! i've watch every head get updated to a superior model, but its been 4 years and there still selling this mess. For the fanboys who say PSVR has best exclusives when you get PSVR be imformed there is no Half-Life Alyx, Beat saber custom songs, Boneworks, Asgards Wraith, Phasmophobia, Big screen, Population one, Stormlands, Medal of honor, etc Just cause it got 3 good exclusive(Astro/Res7/Blood&Truth) dont mean it has the best games.
The thing thats make psvr price go up are the confort feature. The halo strap and the facial interface of the psvr is very high quality ... Cant say the same for the quest 2 .. I love the my quest 2 but the psvr was my most confortable vr experience ive had. And the confort mods i will spend for quest 2 will make the price go up quickly
Hey bro I notice you're wearing glasses - how are they with the oculus quest 2? Ive been considering purchasing it but I don't want to buy it before I know that it works well with glasses.
I don’t have glasses but I have seen people buy contact lenses ment to fit over the oculus lenses so you don’t run the risk of scratching your headset with ur glasses lenses, and as I quest user I have to say that especially for the new price the oculus quest 2 is so worth it. Such a fun headset!!
Bought a Quest 2 on release the guardian feature blew me away it was like entering the Matrix! I've been following the VR scene for a while and considered PSVR until the cable situation, old tech controllers, camera, poor tracking and screen door became apparent. The Quest 2 is simply in a league of its own everything is there ready to roll anywhere, simple as picking your phone up. I've been a gamer for decades and the immersive effect of Walking Dead is the best game i have ever played. Even free titles such as Rec room surpass expectations, then there's other apps and experiences. Thanks for the video
You actually can run the PSVR as well on a desktop PC as long as you have a good GPU and CPU along with the programs needed such as trunis psvr (i forget which one does the controllers) and the ps3 eye (camera). if you have the psvr and move controllers it doesnt cost much for the trinus licence and the camera (around 30$)
The funny thing is the hardware on Playstation 4 is so weak atm that you definitely DONT need a good gpu and cpu. Equal hardware would cost you like 400$ to build with some used 1060 and one channel 8 gigs of ram + an older generation processor enough for a 1060. If you have a good gpu/cpu then psvr is not worth running since your graphics are capable of WAY BETTER image quality on PCVR
I feel you downplayed the strength of PSVR's exclusives, particularly the first party ones. I got the bundle that appeared for Black Friday 2019 (maybe it's shown up again since then, I dunno) with the headset, the camera, 2 Moves, and 2 games for $250. At that price I feel it's definitely been worth it for the exclusives alone. It is high time for Sony to lower the price though lol
@@lakojake4215 I have a Quest 2 as well and I enjoy native titles, PCVR, Sidequest content, and VR mods on it. But for me, PSVR has been worth it even just for games like Astro Bot, Hitman, Wipeout, Resident Evil 7, Blood and Truth, Until Dawn, Ace Combat 7, and the Aim controller games.

You dont need much light for the oculus quest 2 , I actually usually turn the lights off at night and light a candle as long as in facing the candle it works perfectly fine but I usually light 2 small tea light candles one in front of me and one behind me so I can face either direction without worry that the guardian boundary fails
I've had a quest 2 for a few months and I love it, I need some new games but the ones I have are good. I just sweat a lot so I can only play for a lil bit
I have both, I’ve had the PSVR for 2 and a half years, the quest 1 I had broke and I traded it in for the quest 2 on launch. Quest 2 takes a lot of the cake. PSVR is more starter, slower paced headset. Quest 2 is just your average headset but WIRELESS.
I got both because I really wanted to have RE7 VR /Skyrim / & little exclusives like farpoint in my collection. & the quest 2 is the greatest VR experience I’ve had so far.... the freedom & stand-alone & convenience is just amazing!!! You have no idea how amazing it is not having to set up the PSVR to play Saints and sinners / ETC.
I'm having so much fun with Psvr, I got a PS5 three-ish years ago, I wanted to get vr but all of them were so expensive so I got the Psvr with the 2 controllers, a lot cheaper..... When you have some space in your room, your "play area" gets way bigger also because I set my vr headset up a little more far away from the screen, I kind of feel the cord when I'm playing games so the cables thing isn't a problem to me at all in first person shooters, you name it! I don't see any "screen door affect" much, I don't know why? Maybe because I take extra care, clean my vr headset everyday and etc 🤔 I was told that the Psvr I was buying would be a bit better than the "old version" maybe that's why, I don't know. But I am totally getting some other vr so I can play more game's, haven't run out of games to play yet on my Psvr 👍

I have a psvr and I came here to see if I should stick with it or go and pick up the Quest 2. After seeing this, I'm definitely gonna be picking up the Quest 2. The hand tracking feature looks awesome
Very fair comparison. Very fact based. Very informative. Definitely helped me to decide to wait for a psvr 2 release and review before making any decisions.
In my opinion, comparing the quest 2 to the PS VR, is kinda weird. It’s like comparing a valve index to a quest 1. It doesn’t make any sense, but great video!
I’ve had both, psvr was my first experience it was amazing, then it broke so I got the oculus quest 2, the oculus quest 2 is UNBELIEVABLY better then the psvr. Though the battery only last’s around 2-3 hours for the oculus quest 2 it’s still worth it.
@@Luna-qk5wt Thats not for everyone actually, some people do have that problem more than others. I dont have it at all really, same with motion sickness. Had it pretty bad on the PSVR but not on the quest 2.

But it's definitely something to think about I ended up spending another £100 pound on accessories thats without the prescription lenses and battery pack i still have to get.
This is the 2nd video I have seen these 2 devices being compared to one another. To me it’s like comparing apples to oranges, they are different eco systems and that speaks volumes. Also 1 is wireless and 1 is wired, how exactly can this be compared other then the price?
I have both aswell, I can't play on the psvr again without getting bothered by the cord or getting mad at the controller tracking basically saying the quest 2 is way better imo
Its mostly because ofpopularity, even rn, if someone is trying to find a good vr headset, they just search vr usually, and psvr pops up even now, and also the price, litterally a 50$ difference, but a 4 year difference as well
It's a PC vs PS5 thing dumbass. Back when there was PS4 they were comparing the Oculus Rift to PSVR because unlike PC, Sony Didn't make a PSVR 2 did they?
No, dont! I dont see any point why! You propably didnt have a quest 2, since even on my 64gb i didnt fill up even half on the storage. Also get the new 128GB since its the successor to the 64gb for the same price. Also, now Cloud saves so even less reasons.
Thank you for this video! I was looking at the Quest 2 and started doing my research. As much as a PS fan I am, I think I’m going to go with the Quest 2. If I can get pretty much some of the same games with a slightly better experience, I’ll get more bang out of my buck.
@Itslilmoneyjay if it’s a game that I’ll actually play, then I really won’t have an issue with spending the 30-60 dollars. However, that also stacks up depending on what you buy so we will see.
As someone who has both PSVR and Oculus quest 2, I can confirm that the oculus is more comfortable on your head, and you can get more freedom and more room to move around and experience be better, compared to the psvr which has a wire, forcing you to move within a limited circle. The oculus also has a higher resolution, making better and crisp graphics and gameplay. Both of these be systems are great, but I would recommend the oculus for people in search of a new vr system
that's weird if you think oculus would be more comfortable, but i also agree with you about the freedom and more room part. it would be amazing if the oculus had the PSVR strap but still the current screen door resolution, including the PSVR motion controllers. basically saying a headset with the PSVR items, but still using the current oculus system.
As I watched the video if you want the quest 2 to be comfortable and charge and what ever you have to buy expensive add on's. It seems to me the ps vr is the way to go. Despite what some ppl might think are down falls of the ps vr. It just seems like the ps vr is easier on the wallet. Also I know Im 2 years late to the party but I got the ps vr for 230 bucks.
I bought an Oculus Quest 2, but I still notice some screen door effect, especially in movie files. I think we still have to wait a few years to this technology get better. However at the hardware level I am surprised, Oculus Quest 2 can read movies up to 7K without problems (but the quality is limited to the resolution of the display). There are already some 4K headsets on the market, such as the Pico G2 4K and skyworth S1, but they are Chinese and are garbage, I have already tested them and noticed the screendoor effect, they are worse than the Oculus Quest 2. We really have to wait a few years. I heard that for gaming the Playstation VR has a better image, as it has an OLED display and has more sub-pixels for colors, is that right?
Hear me out guys, if you love the PlayStation then I’d just say get the psvr because you can use it on some of your games already, but otherwise get the oculus. Also, the oculus is obviously going to be better because it was released 4 years after the psvr
@@connormckibben7016 I sold my PSVR after getting the first Quest and now with wireless PCVR available on both Quest and Quest 2, the amazing resolution, and a much bigger VR library…yeah, Quest is the way to go if you can get one.
I have a PSVR, it was my second headset after google cardboard, later I got a Oculus Go and a Quest 2. I don't mind the wires for the PSVR it's a very easy hook up, some people make it seem like its complex but its not at all, the same amount of time it takes to connect your wireless Oculus Quest/Quest 2, to your cellphone or tablet for the first time is about the same time it takes you to get your PSVR setup, PSVR may even be faster setup to be honest. My issue with PSVR is the lenses, they have to fix the lenses; they're so not up to par for watching movies in VR... they can be really blurry for some games like No Man's Sky and Skyrim VR, I think they fixed those issues though, but it still has bad lenses. PSVR also needs a proper virtual theater imo, just watching movies in the void is not fun for me. They need Bigscreen VR on the PS4/PS5, or they can build their own. One main reason to get a PSVR is for some of the exclusive games you can't play anywhere else, but if you into social VR all PSVR has is Rec Room, they don't have VR Chat, ALT Space VR, none of those.
Extremely well put together presentation, but not really a fair comparison considering the time frame - the one valid point is the price tag. Sony have done a fantastic job with the PSVR, and getting usable VR to run on PS4 hardware is nothing short of miraculous. It's still the most comfortable VR headset to use (do they have a patent on the headstrap design? It's strange that the rest are still pushing the Ski goggle style, when this is clearly a better design), especially if you're putting in an extended gaming session. The price tag was perfect to start with (as shown by the sales numbers compared to the rest of the VR headsets), but I agree it's a little high now compared to other headsets that are available (not just the oculus). The move controllers are 10 year old tech that needed updating when the PSVR came out, so they are well and truly overdue for a revamp, but the Aim controller is fantastic (Farpoint, Firewall Zero hour and borderlands 2 are a dream to play with this controller). The dual shock 4 is fine to use on a number of games as well. I'm hoping and praying that Sony come out with a new headset towards the end of next year/start of 2022, which I would wager will have wireless capability, but I'm happy to take the slight graphical/performance bump that the PS5 is offering for the moment.
I'm quite excited, as I've gotten tired of owning the PS4 I'll be getting a Quest 2 to replace it. It'll only be my 3rd VR experience (once in an early trial thing when VR was just hitting the market at Science World in Vancouver, and another with a PSVR) so I'm fairly excited
Very unlikely we'll ever see Half Life Alyx on Quest 2 without the Link Cable (or virtual desktop). The XR2 is a big jump but it's still a mobile chip. I would temper expectations quite a bit.
Download Virtual Desktop, have Steam account to download the game, be on 5G Network and of course a VR Ready PC and you're wireless. *of course depending on your settings*
@@ZedDevStuff not a whole lot of downgrade since the the resolution is far better at 2k per eye with the quest 2. Once 90 hertz is enabled, smoother game play should be better as well.
While PSVR may be limited atm PSVR 2 is definitely been in the talks since the ps5 rumors and my only gripe with PSVR is it fixed wire since after 2 years of everyday use and I mean every single day for like 3-8 hours (have no idea how my eyes aren’t burnt out) the wire broke internally (one tug to many or bend) and since it fixed there no way to replace it... I do like the innovation of the quest 2 and definitely has a lot of stuff to make your vr experience really good but the one thing that hurting it is Facebook and they’ve been pulling a lot anti consumer and anti user moves that can completely ruin your experience...
For the ps vr you can buy it separately with all the parts and the total comes to 170 dollars and it is still the same price anywhere unlike oculus. And the PlayStation vr is very comfortable and can track if you are using the headset or not
I have both. The Oculus Quest 2 hurts my neck if I play for long because of the default head strap. The PSVR has an actually comfortable strap setup that does not hurt my neck. The PSVR has higher refresh rate and FOV, but much lower resolution. The Oculus headset needs a PC to play the best games that are available in VR.
Two issues with VR headsets for me and most other guys I know: Limited IPD adjustment (srsly, I realize we Dutchies are still kinda tall and big on a world-average scale but come on!) and limited Field of View. When that starts improving, I'm diving right in. Almost bought a Quest 2 but decided to wait a bit longer. I know for sure I'd already be amazed by this tech, but I might just wait and see what PSVR2 is going to do - whenever that releases. If Oculus brings out a Quest 3 before that time I might just get that.
I mean, if you're considering buying a PSVR im just gonna make the BOLD assumption you already have a PS4. So no, not $800, just 350. Sure you can add the 2 costs together but you don't buy the PS4 just for the headset, the headset is overall just an after thought
I love how you conveniently leave out all the Facebook login thing out of the video to support the headset you prefer. Pretty sure the possibility of Facebook bricking your $300 headset just because they didn't like how you created the profile they forced you to create is something that should not be ignored.
Wireless is nice, and I am sure the tracking and visuals are better. The FB BS is the main reason why I would never buy this crap. PSVR has the best game choice imo, and you can significantly upgrade the visuals with PRO+Mcable or a PS5.
People keep bringing this up and I don't get it... You do realize you use a PlayStation account when you use the PSVR, right? And you do realize the terms and conditions when you signed up for said account include the sharing of your anonymized data to third parties, right? So Sony does it too. And you do realize Steam does it too, and so does Windows, right? This Facebook thing is dumb. Everyone does this. People are outraged because it's specifically Facebook, and yet they don't even think twice about using WhatsApp or Instagram or Messenger to talk privately to people. But hey... A VR headset made by Facebook? Oh, the tragedy. The horror. People get outraged when Facebook bans their fake accounts from using the Quest when said people agreed to specific terms and conditions that specifically state you cannot sign up using a fake identity or an alias, and then complain when Facebook acted accordingly? This makes zero sense.
@@vascogt dude everything you said was true people get annoyed a t facebook bricking their oculus quest 2s yet they are the ones who made the fake account so people are just thick in the head and dumb
It depends upon what ur looking for one is not necessarily better than the other they’ve just got their good and bad points - personally I prefer the psvr due to better fov and better games unless you hook the quest to a pc and the psvr on my opinion looks better designed especially when it lights up and the head band design makes it very comfortable and light on the head whereas some people have had to use alternative head straps for the quest. But I’d say overall in terms of points the quest has more what with wireless and better controllers . If you’ve already got a good pc with decent graphics card the quest is the better option but if you’ve just the PS4 console esp a pro and an old pc I’d say psvr .
Not to mention psvr has one of the only games I want to play and create with called “Dreams” made by the same people that made little big planet. I was a huge fan of little big planet growing up because I loved creating things within the game, and dreams is pretty much the concept of little big planet on steroids!! I fell in love as soon as I heard about this and I am so excited for the day I able to play it in psvr. I’ve never been one to like action games, I love being able to create and psvr dreams fulfills all my hopes and dreams
@@someplaceintheworld5484 Hi and thanks for your comment ! I was holding out for a while, but I've finally gotten a Quest 2. I've owned the PSVR since release and loved it, but PSVR releases are starting to wind down. The Quest has many new offerings and gives much better support for VR entertainment like movies and VR tourism and live events. Almost non existant on PSVR. The fact that we are still comparing other vr systems to the psvr (even though the system is 5 years old) is amazing. I have both and I like them both. The high refresh rate on ps makes the games look really smooth and with less hiccups. The quest 2 has had a couple hiccups on some games.
What exclusives are you talking about? I got a PSVR during black friday as well and it was a complete waste of money.

As someone who has both PSVR and Oculus quest 2, I can confirm that the oculus is more comfortable on your head, and you can get more freedom and more room to move around and experience be better, compared to the psvr which has a wire, forcing you to move within a limited circle. I just got it 2 days ago! Since you have had if for a while now, how is it?
I bought an Oculus Quest 2, but I still notice some screen door effect, especially in movie files. I think we still have to wait a few years to this technology get better. However at the hardware level I am surprised, Oculus Quest 2 can read movies up to 7K without problems (but the quality is limited to the resolution of the display).
There are already some 4K headsets on the market, such as the Pico G2 4K and skyworth S1, but they are Chinese and are garbage, I have already tested them and noticed the screendoor effect, they are worse than the Oculus Quest 2. The negotiator.

Comparing old Vr to New 2022 Vr what do you expect
I was holding out for a while, but I've finally gotten a Quest 2. I've owned the PSVR since release and loved it, but PSVR releases are starting to wind down. Many developers are waiting for the better hardware of the ps5 and PSVR2 to make new stuff. The Quest has many new offerings and gives much better support for VR entertainment like movies and VR tourism and live events. Almost non existant on PSVR. PSVR has some great exclusives like Firewall Zero Hour and Farpoint that makes it still a gem. I have to say get both if you can.
Is the quest 2 worth it without pc?
@@exotictacos5460very worth it, best vr headset out right now
But if you have an oculus quest 2 do you actually need a gaming pc with enough GB or?
That quest2 sounds really cool. I'm gonna stick with the psvr just because I already have it!
Me too but I really want an upgrade that doesn’t require me to get an expensive pc
@@superjarred5135 wait, you know quest 2 is standalone right? You don’t need a pc, but you can connect it to a pc for greater specs.
Or you could sell your PSVR and buy a OQ2
Same. I dont see all of these issues people talk about. Mines works perfectly fine
@@superjarred5135 so buy the quest 2 the quest 2 doesn't need a pc the quest 2 is all built into itself so you can use the quest 2 and tkae the quest 2 anywhere as long as you have a wifi connection and a facebook account
As i was gonna watch this i got the lets see what u got oculus ad
I keep getting them now lol
Thank you I have a ps vr and I was thinking of buying a oculus quest two but I didn't know if you need a pc or for how long it's lasts and which has more games now I know I should buy the oculus quest two
Helps with my decision, thanks very informative.
Great video. Just the detailed comparison I was looking for, with good visual examples. PS VR tempting but looks a little dated for me now, and I'm not waiting for VR2 - it's still hard to get a PS5, so I'm not waiting for anymore new tech.
Cool PSVR! I might get one next Christmas and my brother might get an Oculus quest 2 next Christmas!
I got my quest 2 a day ago and I love it!
thanks for the review, was indepth, informative and avoided any bullsh*t
Ok for the face marks that’s you tightening the quest side straps to much and use the glasses spacer if you need more room for glasses
I have a psvr and am getting the oculus quest 2
Same
Same
I’m gonna get the psvr2 most likely to do a in depth review
Wait that’s actually a real thing? I saw a vid about and thought it was clickbait.
@@TryStrike_Panda no it’s not out yet. They’ve talked about it but it will be a while before it’s released
@@pencil7123 oh ok. Thanks for telling me.
Just wondering, as im looking to get a VR headset (had one with my samsung Galaxy but they are no longer aligned with Occulas) and was wondering if the quest 2 needs a PC or anything to run it, or is it a stand alone unit that can be played anywhere? (If that's the case I assume your data would be saved on your Occulas account). I do have a Galaxy S22 ultra as I noticed he mentioned the Android connection. Any help would be much appreciated..... thanks.
Quick answer: quest 2 is better
Ps4 is the best
I won't be buying the quest 2 because of the facebook account thing....
My first account was banned long ago, for not using my real name.
My second account is still active but could be shut down anytime now.
Yeah its a no go for me . Facebook ruined it.
Wait how do they know if it’s your real name?
@@shveta273
It’s pretty obvious my real first name isn’t Forsaken.... I’d feel sorry for some poor bastard who was.
that’s like not buying an iPhone because you need an Apple ID, or an Xbox because you need a Microsoft account, or buying a PS5 because you need a Sony account, etc etc.
@@verlexin8398
they won’t ban the account if you use a fake name on it. Only time you have to use your real info on those is if you want to use your credit/debit card to buy something. You can just use gift cards.
