Happy 420 Birthday Cake - All Buttercream

- This funky faced little guy is my personal take on a pretty common concept found online. It's a double layer, 2 flavor, chocolate and vanilla cake with chocolate and vanilla buttercream icing. He was definitely a challenge, but so much fun to decorate, so follow along to see how I hand-piped this cool design.

Thanks! I was nervous as heck it wouldn't turn out. It was my first real attempt at hand piping anything besides a flower...lol.

How did you get all three colors of the icing in one tube, without mixing them up? I really want to make this cake for my husband's birthday.
I like to put my decorator bag in a tall cup and fold it down over the sides so the cup holds it open. Makes it a lot easier to put the colors in the bag where you want them without it collapsing on itself. Hope that was helpful. If you have any other questions along the way feel free to ask.
Also, I feel I should mention, for the black icing I find it helps to make it as chocolatey as possible before I add the black, so you don't have to add nearly as much dye. Black food color isn't very strong so it takes a lot to get it that dark without adding cocoa.
After watching the video again, I believe I took the three piping bags I was using and put them inside a larger piping bag. That would be the easier option...lol

@@angiegarza4145 I use 4 cups of confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
4 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
Whip your butter, shortening, milk and vanilla together with a mixer until light and fluffy and there is no lumps left (helps to start with room temp butter)
Then slowly add the sugar a bit at a time until it's all mixed together, then put that mixer on high and let it get super fluffy. I'm pretty sure I doubled the recipe for this cake...
@@TheRobynsNest thank you so much! I really appreciate your help, I don't usually bake, but I don't want to spend tons of money on a cake, when I can make it at home. That, and I don't normally get to do stuff like this for my hubby, so it should be fun! ☺️

Is that an edible image u use to get the leaf?
Nope, that is just a paper stencil. After I chilling my cake I was able to lay the stencil on top and use a craft knife to mark the outline. I used that outline as my guideline to pipe the leaves with a leaf piping tip.
What nozzles you used for the weed leave and design plz reply me
It was just a leaf tip for the weed leaf, the one that is kind of a V shaped. And I just used a standard star tip for the boarders.
