A year and a half on and it is STILL in preview, that is not encouraging!
Also while it does seem to work OK on PC, I could not get it to work at all on Mac. It seemed not to have installed the Arduino CLI as it said it would. I installed it separately, and it now finds the CLI OK, but many things do not work. I also tried installing the Arduino IDE on the Mac and that works fine.

Indeed the extension is not maintained as it should, there are some issues that are annoying. I have been using it for the past 18 months, and the benefits of using VSCode for Arduino programming are still large enough for me to stick with it.

Si je comprend bien on peut installer l'extension Arduino sans avoir à passer par l'extension Platformio.
Est ce que cette extension Arduino est aussi robuste que Platformio? qu'en est t'il des librairies depencies à installer dans le code ? merci

Oui c'est ce que je fais, j'utilise rarement Platformio. Difficile de comparer la robustesse entre les deux, ce sont deux externsions qui fonctionnement complètement différemment. L'extension Arduino a un gestionnaire de librairie et de boards tout comme l'IDE Arduino.
