On the subject of the web3 projects that approach the digital environment similar to the built environment, with all of its faults and still implement "cancerous" ideas like highways and dysfunctional spaces. Well maybe this happens because no matter what they tell themselfs and us, at the end of the day that is still a game or a gamification of the reality. It has to have a certain amount of commonality so the users can feel immersed into something similar. The highways as an example is also a part of the bigger picture of the "game" where you can have races, win crypto and discover the world by driving. Just teleporting from place to place might become quite boring after a while and then all the action would happend in a few hotspots. I believe there is a more in-depth approach to a game than to a city, hence the game developers think alike between themselfs and quite different than an architect. On the other hand i`m quite interested to know what are the web3 projects catering to (this moment) if not gamers and the economics of a game? IN the future maybe there will be a way to experience the immersive spaces through a different medium (neural link???) besides a computer screen or a bulky VR set. For that i could see an interesting and exciting future.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yes, game designers do indeed have to have a large view of their project and game experience to a holistic level that can rarely be achieved by a similar small team on a city scale, as on a city scale there are many more people, with many more (sometimes conflicting) interests involved. I had the opportunity to present at a gaming conference recently and it was really interesting to hear from the likes of Spiderman game devs of how they develop their cities and urban experiences. And yes, it seemed like it was quite important to capture a reality that the game player would seem plausible, especially in a gritty urban enverionment, for example. I suppose this is where gaming and web3 architecture can diverge. One if focused on game-play that's focused on the main character and the environment background context falls to something that the user expects. Whereas in a web3 architectural context, the focus IS the environment design.

Rhino SUB D is also very sketchy

Yes it is. But it's the new kid on the block, so it doesn't have all the functionality yet that Maya and Blender have, that have been developing their toolsets for over 20 years. Heck, Rhino 8 just got subd creases ;)
