How The Fastest Driver on Earth Got Addicted to Gamer Rage

- Whether you’re a pro gamer, a streamer, or even just a normal silver scrub, it’s important to have boundaries between your work and the rest of your life.
But what if your job was your life? And what if the way you had fun was by doing a fake version of your job?
Meet three-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen, who isn’t satisfied with only leaving the world’s best in the dust on the physical track, he needs to destroy you on the digital one, too.
But how did we get here? Why is Verstappen so addicted to sim racing if he dominates what many consider the ultimate version of the real thing? Could it be that it actually does help him stay practiced?
And should we really be surprised that such an avid gamer has the occasional…heated gamer moment?

I would have never thought Verstappen would get a video made of him on this channel
iRacing is an esport so… its plausible!
Haha i know! I love it!
Well their quality has been going downhill in the last 5 years so I´m not surprised.
Same bro, saem
@@DampLover explain
No way we got Max Verstappen on theScore esports before GTA6
GTA isn't part of eSports though, simracing is.
@@Grafzaaiers anything can be an esport ;)
@@UserFlyn
I mean yeah i guess but the fact still remains it isn't...
@@Grafzaaiers i mean if its competitive enough, it can be an e sport
@@adambest8817 Again, sure but just because it can be doesn’t mean it is…
Just a thought. Maybe he enjoys it because for him sims racing feels more competitive than the real one 💀
LMAO
Owned them.
He been doing it like this since before he started the absolute domination but I bet this is actually true lmfao xD
no danger poses on sims. hell yeah it'd be better.
Kinda funny since sim racing also have cycle of cars balances update so every car can compete on the same level
If you guys wanna cover a really wholesome gamer turned racer then take a look at jimmy broadbent. Seriously one of the most inspiring gaming stories for me, dude moved into a shed in his parents' garden because he was otherwise homeless, struggled with mental health for a long time, then started sim racing and now he's a real life race winner, champion, and races real cars around the Nordschleife (a track he always loved in the sim). Also just an all around great guy, super humble and always supportive

WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE JIMMER HERE ❤️❤️
I would absolutely watch a theScore video about Jimmy.
Bilsten bois FTW
He is a pro Esports driver with F1 as a hobby
Frankly, his dad wanted him to be an F1 driver. Looking at his behaviour, Max wants to be a sim racer. 😂
To clarify, almost if not every driver on the grid was karting by 7, in fact some started at 4.
Max actually started at 4, they got it wrong
Yep he was 4.
Alonso started karting at the age of 3, so even younger.
iirc the only one h¡whho started late was Lando at 10
@pachakutimundi6813 latifi also sarted really late if I remember correctly he started at 13
I remember a couple races ago he was still up playing till 4am when he had a race 4 hours later on live track.
Dude's definitely addicted
Is it the night before quali or race, I kinda forget but doesn't matter he still qualified 1st and won the race after that 4am streaming 😂
He was trying to keep his sleep cycle within EU time... but yes he is an addict 😅
Since he's with red bull he probably have tons of red bull cans on his fridge
@@alieffauzanrizky7202 that is a must for every red bull athlete if they stream they always have fridge full of RB can on their camera
That was this years Qatar GP.
Verstappen doing sim racing is literally him racing without the G-force debuff..😂😂
itsw not a debuff its important iinformation that helps you control the car. not having it is a debuff
@@huukkeli22 hamilton said this, he doesnt like sim racing or doesnt consider it useful for him to practice because of info like what he feels on his bum or ears (balance) are lacking
Not only that, but he doesn't feel the weight shift too. But considering how stiff RB's suspension is, it's kinda better for him?
@@Eis_ in reality to correct momentum on a car, sometimes understeer but specially oversteer on such a level, even if you rely on G force feelings our senses are too slow to process. You need to be already in tune with the car and know it's behaviour to a point where you kind of "guess by instinct" where the car would snap on you.
If you try to go with a reactive mind, waiting for senses to kick in, trying to process all that through the brain and circle back, the delay is too long to regain control of the car.
You need to be pre-emptively on edge looking for the oversteer in certain moments. This is what I've learned.
It's not just that he SIM races, it's that he's in the top players in SIM racing. Contrary to what most might think, real racing and SIM racing isn't easily transferable. As in if you're good at real racing, it doesn't really mean that you'll be good at SIM racing. There are other real racers who have tried SIM, and vice versa, but he's the only one who is one of the best on both.
I mean there's probably more similarities than if he were to compete in other esports.
Sven himself is a dirty driver. Has a reputation if just taking people out. He took max out and max repaid the favor.
The 24 hour event was just dumb on the hosts part. They kept getting Ddos as the ip and server either got leaked or was able to be seen rather easily. Multiple times max and the lobby has people crashing out. Which led to them losing minutes of time. Which in racing is massive.
the server ip was public for some fucking reason
Max also wants sim racing to be a viable and more accessible option to get into real world racing as opposed ro karting
And that is really cool, it’s much easier to get a full station than a kart if you really want to do it. Go 2k (4k if you buy pc too) against much more for a good kart
Duh duh duh Duh Max Verstappen 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Nah man, it's 'Do do do doo MAX VERSTAPPEN '
Nah man it's Tu Tu Tu Du MAX VERSTAPPEN
I have been playing Iracing four around 4-5 years. I raced against him a few times... This guy ist just so unbelibeble fast. I drive quiet a lot. This guy comes into a session, drives like 2-3 Seconds faster, but i loved the fact, that I just raced against him
then youre not fast
@@oransjballthat depends on the track. 2 seconds slower at Spa would be slow, but 2 seconds slower at Nordschleife against Max is still fast.
I think not a lot of people know what actually are the conditions inside a F1 car while driving, it's like 60°C for 2 hours straight, you take multiple G's every turn, so i think if Max likes Sim Racing, it's because it's surely way more bearable than a real F1 race
Also, you only have 1 race every week, in sim racing, he can race all the time
I'm pretty sure it's more so that he just loves to race cars.... if he didn't want to race in F1, he coulda just used his dad's rep and his skill for racing on a pro esports racing team to make a living.... Ya... must be really shitty to be considered one of the fastest drivers in the world and safe enough to be invited into a league of other top drivers... damn what a sad fate he's suffering......
Sim racing always has been looked down on as not being "the real thing", yet time and time again real racing drivers talk about how it gives the same feeling of competitiveness. Max is the voice that brings legitimacy to that.
Sim Racing gear is so expensive that Max has to race in Formula 1 to pay for his rig.
Mans won in Imola and the Spa 24 hour in the same day, hes just built different
One of Max's redline teammates also got a job at Red Bull Racing as one of their Sim drivers which is a very important job for helping the actual Car reach it peak
LMAO, WE ACTUALLY GOT MAX VERSTAPPEN IN THESCORE.
max is a massive gamer regardless, theres a famous clip of him raging at an early f1 game when he was a kid and surprisingly enough at one point he was t20 in the world in fifa 19
After seeing this im just waiting for Jimmy Broadbent to get featured. The guy went from simracing in his mothers shed to racing in real life

@@trippind I know i just mean a full episode dedicated to him
Calling it a fake version of what he does is wild 💀
@alfredl.b.6631clearly u didnt watch the vid first
How is that wild? Max drives real life F1 cars, when he goes into a sim it is legitimately a fake version of irl racing 💀
@@NateDates calling simracing "fake" doesnt do it justice. especially when most top drivers nowadays also spend alot of time in the simulator to get better at driving irl. only max takes it to the extreme level that he does
@@penapvp2230 I mean sure they do, it's a great way to practice while not actually being at the track, but as we saw in the video Max can have "gamer rage moments" youd never see Max ramming someone full speed irl because a sim isnt real, in other words, it's a fake version of what real life racing is.
You can take problem with the wording but it is what it is.

The ultimate excuse when you get beat in a SIM race: "I'd beat you ez IRL"
Yeah "Tu tu tu du Max Verstappen" is cool,
but real ones will always remember "Max max max super max max"
The statement from Max was justified. ONE OF US
Never have I thought I'd see Forsen and Verstappen in the same video lmao
I’ve always interpreted his sun racing as ‘scratching an itch’, dude loves racing, he can only get in a car and do so every once and again when f1 is racing bc he physically can’t practice in an f1 car due to the regulation within the sport, what to do in that time when he wants to race? Do the next best thing, which just so happens to also be really similar to the real thing. Growing up I loved sports.. and I bought and played sports games bc I was so engrossed and ofc couldn’t compete 11v11 soccer/football matches whenever I wanted
Also if anyone needs to know verstappen was one of the top ranked players in Fifa i believe he was ranked top 100 at some point last year so hes basically a gaming god and also racing god
He said multiple times that sim racing gave him the idea to just try shit in real life too. He finds grip on real tracks because he just tries, while others stick to the traditional lines, since they do not have the sim racing experience.
Watching this after Max won sprint in Miami🙃
max was thinking "well no one can beat me in the real racing, i mingt as well look for a chalenge in sim racing so i can feel how defeat was like"
I love how Verstappen is also an advocate for sim racing considering alot of motorsports fans hate the idea of sim racing being taken seriously.
"LOL" - Max Verstappen, 2024 Miami Grand Prix
His IRL races are practice for his sim racing session
If only you waited 2 weeks for 24 hours of Nurburgring and Imola this weekend
the record of "Winning an F1 race and a recognized Sim Event in 24 Hrs" needs to be awarded to him lol
13:00 PENELOPE CAMEO LETS GOOOOOOO
My guy is rich, a multi-champion, record breaker, happily married, has a cute little daughter and dominates racing both in real life and in simulation, Max is living THE life
He's not married and it's not his daughter. But yes, point still stands.
This video is just...
"Simply, simply lovely!"
A max verstappen video in this channel is crazy
As a csgo enjoyer and Max Verstappen f1 fan, I would have never thought that I will see a Max Verstappen video on this channel.
I don't know any sim racer who became a real racer, who did not want to go back to the sim. The sim is unique. and once you start racing, the sim is no longer just a hobby it is part of what makes you a great racer
thescore esports using phonk as a backing track is insane.
don´t forget if his mother had balls, then she would be his father
Not the colab we asked for, but the one we needed... theScore and Max Verstappen
Do Lando Norris next. The guy made an e-sports team on top of being a sim racer like max and competes on f1 too
The man just stepped it up by driving two stints of a 24 hour race and doing an f1 race in between
This video came out 2 weeks early. Verstappen just won the Imola GP AND Virtual 24h of Nürburgring on the same weekend
1:17 He had sleepy eyes that entire day, still won the race driving backwards ofcourse but he looked fried😂
You could also do a vid about the Twitch quartet, that 2020 time was special.
We even got to see a goalkeeper, a golfer and 1D member playing F1.
should have added his love for fifa here too ngl
Respect for actually trying to pronounce his name properly
verstappens nickname is literally MadMax because of his temper and aggression in formula 1 so it makes sense that he would have gamer rage i would be more surprised if he didnt rage
only makes me like him more when he rages
Dimitri talking about Max, world makes sense now
Missed opportunity for the coffin rig
When you get bored with your real job
Max did mentioned that he enjoys sim racing since IRL racing pace is somewhat limited to what you can endure physically in a car while, in sim racing, you don't have that limitation
He is a full time streamer and part-time F1 racer.
Y’all should’ve mentioned his FIFA playing too
he used to be a avid fifa player as well. doing very well in the weekend leagues when he was around. not sure howmuch he's still on it these days.
11:45 For context, Sven is known in the community as a dirty driver in the comunity, and if you rewatch the crash, he not only ruined Verstappen's race, but his teammate too. Sven exploited a bug, and Max didn't appreciate the dirty driving. Was it right how he acted? No, but it wasn't right for Sven either.
The true cross over of my life
Max Verstappen the kind of guy to take a break from racing to play on a racing simulator
I could have never guessed that I would see max on this channel
I never thought I would see this collab icl 😭
All F1 teams have racings sims. They have to based on testing limitations. The F in F1 one stands for formula. Part of that formula is limitations on how much time drivers can spend testing the vehicles. So often they only get to drive their cars during race weekends. The only way they can learn a new track or learn a new mode is via the Sim. Moreover the only way they can train their drivers when they make changes to the systems and the steering wheel is the sim. So all of them are sim racing. Several of them have started doing it in the competitive world, but all of them do it is part of their professional training. Lewis Hamilton admits that he doesn’t like to do it. But when he moves to Ferrari, he’s not gonna have a choice.
Max max max Super Max max super super max.
Frankly I think Max should stop with distractions and focus on his real job. I think this nonsense he's getting caught up in is distracting him from what actually matters
Driving that silly blue car every sunday distracted him from important events such as the iRacing 12 hours of sebring, and he didn't even finish that race
I’m starting to think he agrees with you.
Love the new background! Great VOD too
13:21 the empty stare that the interviewer had 💀
Correction: he was 4 when he started go karting
Not only does he play simracing he also plays val on the side sometimes 🤣
He's sidequesting F1
I think he just loves all types of racing
No way we got max on this channel before a prx win
Why is Dimitri always so extra with peoples names bro. VerSTAHPPen. Everyone says verstappen just say verstappen.
"stop pronouncing people's names correctly 😡😡😡😡"
As an esports fan, F1 fan, RB fan. Thios is an insta-like and a must watch.
10:07 if i was that guy then i would die of embarrassment because of Max’s reaction 😬
that sounds like Gianni, his Redline Teammate. They stream almost every wednesday on twitch and there is a lot of banter in the team. Especially when they play Fifa or COD
his real job is streamer, racing F1 is his sidejob
Really want Verstappen to play Bang Dream for Reflex Practices.
G E K O L O N I S E E R D
You guys pronounced his name better than the announcers and pundits do.
Calling sim racing fake is something you never should have done.
I like the real racer involved in the sim racing, since the motorsport itself synonymous with expensive sport, may be with the sim racing we can find a new racer talent.
Well what comes to my mind is that he can`t drive formula 1 when he`s 50+ years old but he still can sim-race. Maybe he wants to push it that it gets as good as possible before he retires its basically his pension since he got the money part done already ;).
Dude…if only you would know the frustration at the time with rfactor 2…you would understand!
If i saw him in a lobby with me I'd just leave lol.
You should talk about his Fifa pack addiction😂😂
8:14 Bro why the fuck you gotta trigger me with this overtake?

Max started karting at 4 not 7
max is such a legend.
Let’s be honest max has more competition in sim racing than he does in real life
A dude in nz just won the d1nz championship and he was a sim drifter. He won in pro sport then moved to pro an then won in pro making he d1nz champion 1 year he's nz pro champ. He has no mechanical sympathy he limi bashed the tf outta his car
Just shows how big sim racing is now haha listen he likes sim racing more then driving in his f1 car which should tell you how far we have come its absolutelt increduble feeling and immersive. He wins flys homw and 3 hours later is on sim racing, he goes to sleep, wakes up eats geta on sim racing all day and thats what he does.
Also idk where you got your information but he wasnt headlines in talks due to sim racing not being covered around that time much but he never stopped. Idk where you get your info but ok. Its just now its massive and people make more videos now.
You forgot to add the fact that he was fifa world no. 17 or something a few years back while still racing in F1
Hence his quip when he was handed a €50,000 fine for an on-track penalty: "I guess that's less FIFA points for me, then!"
he also like a few weeks ago said on stream: "havent heard that one in a while".... when the English national anthem was playing XDDDD
