I haven't read the books and i thought season 1 was good thanks to the crows and Helnik but I fell in love with season 2 and am now a fan counting down days to watch season 3 also I think Nikolai is an amazing and charismatic actor i think you just need time to warm up to him :)
you should definitely read the books, i really enjoyed them!! the six of crows duology is my favorite though. i already finished the season and my feelings on nikolai sadly haven’t changed :/
