I just bought the Bose SoundSport Free.. the sound is so awesome withe powerful bass... and theres no lag at all when i watch youtube.. infact seeing this video using my Bose earbuds... maybe they have updated it... 👍🏼🤗
Hi I have quit a lot of lag using Themen with RUclips with an iOS device. What device are you using? I have all the newest available versions iOS, app, firmware ... and I already replaced the headphones once but no change. With Netflix, Movie etc the is no lag just with RUclips.

Bose earbuds are meant for classy and elegant personas, with a lot of taste for sound quality. Airpods are for more urban, practicality and simplicity type of customers, which is good too! They both have their specific market target. I personally pick the Bose over the airpods, and for practicality, definitely the Jabra sport elite, over any of them.
I bought the Bose and loved them. The one thing I couldn’t get over is that you can’t listen with just the left ear. (I’m used to doing this because of my job) and how bulky they look in your ears (looks like you have a space tick burrowing in your ear) sound quality and comfortability were way above Apple though. AirPods have cool features though like live listen and you just double tap to play/pause, skip, rewind, open Siri

I just returned my Bose. The problem with lateness with sound really bothered me when I watched RUclips videos. They do stick out. But yeah they are sound great.
I bought the Bose SSF and Samsung Galaxy Sport watch last Christmas specifically for workout freedom and sound quality. They did have RUclips latency issues when I first set them up, but I didn't care because they were perfect for my intended usage. However, update 2.5.6 came out a couple months later completely fixed it. They have been awesome and the sound quality is amazing. I mountain bike with them and they have never fallen out. I have only taken phone calls a handful of times and I dont remember anything terrible, but I dont doubt that Airpods do it better. If I wanted all around perfect, I'd probably go Icon-X. Santa just brought me a beautiful pair of Bose SoundSport buds and they are incredible! (I immediately updated firmware) Sound quality is phenomenal and as far as the phone calls, we tested two calls and both were crystal clear on listening and speaking so not sure what this video is referring to? They fit flush with the outside of my ears and look great vs the little white spikes sticking out of your head. Maybe they're handles to catch them when they fall out. I've done everything short of banging my head against the wall to make the Bose come loose but not happening. Love the Bose paired up to my S9+! If you're questioning buying them, I highly recommend you do!
Great review sir!! . I have the Bose Sound SportFree as well. The only MAJOR problem problem I found is the clipping in and out and lost of connection. Well, I did a little process of elimination. Found that it only does that using my IPhone XS Max. Not once did it do that while paired to my Galaxy Note 9. I could have the IPhone laying on my chest and the audio will cut out. Now using it on my Note 9. I walked around the house with phone sitting still and it never cut out. Saying all this to say. The ear buds are great. Just be aware of the phone you pair it with.
I find the AirPods very uncomfortable and couldn’t wear them for more than about 10 minutes before my ears hurt from their shape. The Bose however I could wear nearly all day before my ears hurt. The only issue I’ve had with the Bose earbuds is a second or so lag when connected to my phone, but it is a big issue

I have the bose and I love them. Great sound quality, they fit very well, and come with a tracking feature on the app in case you lose them. They do stick out a lot though, sometimes the left earbud will cut out but it rarely happens and the buttons suck.
Having owned both, they both definitely are for varying consumers. Bose have a sleek and higher quality feel, and are super comfortable in your ears. Bose have a big bass advantage in music, but it’s not as balanced. The sound quality is slightly higher overall, but the bass can turn certain people off as some songs can be overly rich in bass AirPods have a prettier design and look less intrusive to your ears. AirPods have better connectivity, no latency issues, and the audio, like mentioned is more equal across the board (Bass, Mid, Treble), so it really depends on preference. Honestly, it depends. They both are very good, and both are worth their prices in my opinion. Very good review!
Did you have any problems with video lag on the Bose earphones? I bought them when they first came out and there was generally a 1 second audio delay with the Bose. I never have this problem with the AirPods.
When I first saw this earbuds (Bose) from a friend in a different version (the one with has a wire that goes back in your neck), I heard the sound and really liked it. Sound was very good, even when I compared with expensive headphones and that was exactly what I was looking for running in the streets. After some research, I found this model which would be even better for me, since I prefer no wires touching my neck or back when running. I didn't find any official reseller in Brazil, so, I bought them in "MercadoLivre", which is marketplace pretty close to ebay in other countries. The product arrived to my hands on August 25 2018 (5 months and almost 2 weeks before this review). I really appreciated it's quality, it's battery duration, it's color (in my case I chose orange) and specially it's sound quality, which is amazing. I use this earbuds something between 3 and 4 times per week, only when running, during one hour each time and always cleaning them up after trainning. Ten days ago, I noticied that left side had volume decreased a little bit and it's sound was not excellent as it used to be. Three days later, quality and volume had decreased even more. Searching into it's user manual, I realized I was issuing the exactly procedure to clean them up, which is removing caps and cleaning them with water and neutral soap, to remove wax/body oil and passing softly cotton on the sound out. Reached their local technical assistance in Brazil (representative) and they said they couldn't do anything about my case, Since I didn't buy it from an official reseller. That if I had bought it from an official reseller, they would replace it for me, since this product has no chance to be cleaned up. Tried to contact Bose USA and they said they couldn't do anything. In Brazil I paied about 300 dolars for it and used for less than 6 months. This was not my first bose electronic, but, for sure, will be the last one, since, now it's function will be only to hold papers on my desk. So disappointed..... Don't buy it.
Great review I agree I am an apple person but the AirPods just don’t fit the year right and sound quality and fit for the ear Bose is excellent I got the Bose and very satisfied.
I want to get Bose but afraid of how they will look on me. Same with the AirPod but everyone knows what that is. I also want the ones I can workout with. I’m only looking at these 2 options and not the jabras or jaybirds, etc. Great video!!
jamie gill I just bought the Bose and I love that they fit in your ear perfectly for sport and a lot of other thing, AirPods just look like a tips hanging out of ur ears but the Bose are not well no and people might question them. However the Bose are really comfy and the AirPods are not that comfy so I do prefer the Bose👌
I just bought the bose, I can verify that the calls SUCK at times but for others its fine... Also, you can listen with just one which is amazing. I'm currently charging my left and listening to music with my right! They also don't fall out and are more comfortable than both airpod and the Elite ( i bought and returned both ). Strongly suggest bose if you don't care what they look like but just want over all quality in every other aspect!

Sound quality is good but they unfortunately drop the sound very often. This is almost always the case in loud train stations or airport. This case been reported before but no corrective updates. Beware.
True. Currently I’ve bose soundsport and i use it for my daily Gym workout including Running and everything. They just fit in ear so comfortably and perfect. Sound is best as well!!

I am an audiophile and dislike MOST Bose products, but the SSF are decent. They aren't the best sounding headphones but for a set of wireless headphones, they sound DAMN good. After a bit of EQ'ing, they really shine and easily become one of my most-usable headphones to date. Hope 2020 can bring something better ;)
Accidently bought them through Verizon and will be arriving tomorrow. I had them in my cart and decided to wait for the reviews. Well, I look in my email and see a UPS Delivery message from Verizon. After reading and watching several videos about the Bose, I'm excited. I'm a big fan of Bose but also of Apple. I have both in my home so I guess either way, it's a win for me! I agree with you, but the microphone quality of the Bose is really good. I own a Huawei P20 Pro an no one noticed a change in quality when I lay in bed and switch to my Bose for calling. Everyone said I sound really good. Before the Bose I had Ultimate Ears Fi 5 Pro with customized ostoplasty earpieces and I'm still happy with the Bose :)
+1 for the Bose SoundSport Free... BestBuy Salesperson told me they were the best for running, he was right. Bose sound so good & wear so well I wear them for hours at a time 'round the house. Fell asleep last night with them on listening to classical music. Used to own Apple Airpods- happy but not great for running, felt like they were gonna fall out within 10 mins.
I like my air pods but I have an issue with them.. I have a high frequency ringing noise in my right ear when I'm not playing any audio. It's so annoying!
I purchased the Bose Soundsport Free ear buds. Strongly advise against it. It has severe latency issues, which is very perceptible, and extremely annoying while watching videos and movies. Almost a 1 second delay, and therefore no lip sync. Movies and videos are unwatchable. I contacted Bose support via twitter, and they are very aware of this problem, but still not addressing it. Nor are they communicating properly to potential customers that this is not meant for watching videos. The latency issue is not mentioned on their box, nor in ANY communication. This product will definitely ruin their reputation. They have even disabled comments on their RUclips video because of the large volume of complaints. First time ever experiencing such a basic problem on a headphone, which pretty much makes it unusable for most purposes. I have no idea why Bose chose to release this product without fixing issues.
@@TechnicallySpeaking Just found out that you can pause by double tapping but can't skip track's... There's an app called AirBattery that makes your life easier using Apple products on Android but still skipping track's isn't a thing yet... But thanks for the replay

Eventhough people are saying that the Bose are great when listening to music, but aren't that good when taking phone calls. I know that I'm gonna be using them more for taking phone calls than listening to music, so I'll just have to see when I get them.

I thought that only the right for calls on the bose would be bad, but its actually very useful incase your calling someone and also talking to someone irl or need to hear irl
i have both and use them in different occasions. Bose is awesome with sport and it doesn't fall no matter how you jump. bad thing is the case loses power over time because it continues charging the earbugs. Airpods works well on daily walking on street, plane, work on the go, or conferences.
Yeah, Bose is by far a better sound producer than Apple, but it makes sense seeing as Apple doesn’t focus only on sound. They may have more potential if they wanted to put in more effort. I haven’t tested the soundsport free, but I have the soundsport and have used my friends AirPods for a week to see if I would notice a difference, and the Bose just have a more defined quality

Met with answer, "Bose are hot garbage when it comes to phone calls." that's all I needed to hear, as I don't need headphones that much for music - more for phone calls. Got some Bose and I don’t regret it super comfortable and the sound is great on the Bose don’t mind the size they stick in your ear effortlessly haven’t tried talking on the phone with them yet but everything else even the charging case is great!
I own both EarPods and Bose but what is always missed about apple is that you can also hear with one ear pod at a time and will last 10 hours or longer as you recharge the one not used. I work 15 hours a day and listen all day with one at a time. Where no other EarPods does that. That’s the major difference that is left off reviews
I disagree with the statement about Bose and phone usage, I use it all the time and most people have no idea that I am on wireless. Sounds quality is excellent on both, however like he said, Bose has better sounds quality.
I have both . I love the Apple AirPods for travel and general day to day use, but they fall out my ears trying to wear during workouts. The Bose are my favorite for working out, I get mine sweaty, ran in rain, wipe off, and they work the next day... I had the bose free headphones a couple of days ago and they had a hug latency while watching RUclips videos from the app... also the connection to pc is a struggle that does not pays off cuz its very unstable! There is audio-video lag in many apps but some others like hulu work great no lag whatsoever. I did the update and everything possible but they suck for everything but to listen to music so no thank you and I returned them, now I have the soundsport wireless and they do work flawlessly with every app and any pc connection, even great for pc gaming! But the soundsport free are a huge disappointment! Oh btw I called bose customer service and they are aware of this audio-video lag so don’t even try to tell me that they have no latency issues cuz they do.
I've been using the Bose SoundSport for almost a year, and with all iOS devices (iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro, iPad 2018 - all 12.1.2) on the RUclips App I have a delay of almost a second between picture and sound. I have contacted the support again because of this video and received the answer below. They admit an asynchronicity and find this to be technically feasible today. No solution is promised. The succinct answer is: " With all the features, it's impossible to build in more technology now to make the SoundSport more capable of multimedia. I think, Mr. Hostettler, you will understand that you have to do technical sections here and there in order to achieve top class in a certain area". That's it never BOSE again. The AirPods have a technology that is still hard to match when it comes to connectivity. If they would only improve on the sound quality and the ability to stay in your ears, they’d have a winner. Plus they look ridiculous. It seems weird to me that they bought Beats and still have ear phones with an archaic and far from perfect fit. And how about that sound? C’mon Apple
Alex C Connectivity works best with IPhones 7 and higher! Sound quality is better with IPhones!! They are not bad as people let you believe! AirPods look bad at first sight! But when I bought them and started to wear them I begun to like them just as everyone else does! The Fit is perfect? You are just unlucky to have the wrong ears for the AirPods! I'd go afterward but then have to put up with a crowd, therefore, couldn't get the attention from my bartender that he knew I expected. So I did give up something. I loved the Friday shows.
Bose is great. I personally haven't had any issues with calls. It's clear and crisp, and I'm speaking at a normal volume and pace...the caller can hear me fine. There are some settings you can play around to enhance the audio quality.
Airpods hahahaha, it's like a race between a Ferrari and a Lada. Most important thing here is sound quality, and that's where Bose wins it by being 5x better :)
The only way Apple or any other earbud company can compete is to build a similar model like Bose. Or it will sound cheap. But sound quality isn’t important to everyone.
everybody at my school has the apple airpods while i’m walkin’ around rockin’ my bose SSF and everybody asks if i’m deaf! because nearly everyone mistakes them as hearing aids
It kind of depends of your purpose of use with the two different earbuds AirPods are better for urban environments. Bose are better for the gym/working-out, running because the ear piece makes sure they have a snug and won’t fall out. They both have there advantages and disadvantages it all depends on your purpose for the two pieces of technology.
Totally agree with you on your Bose soundsport free comments. I love the function and sound of them... but they look horrible on me. They stick out like crazy. WAY more than on the Bose models lol. I have had both earbuds and personally the AirPods are much better. The sound in the Bose earbuds are definitely better but besides that AirPods are much better with how accessible they are and easy to handle
I'm watching this review wearing my Bose headset lol...Bose is quality for sure..lacks a little bass but it very clear for sure..my phone calls r way better than before..I disagree with the review on that..Bose is way better than the airpods.
The issue of the air pods, if you can get over how they look like bizarre droopy antenna's sticking out of your ears (not that the Bose are any better sticking out like one of the largest hearing aids ever made) they are one-size-fits MOST and I know some people where they fit perfectly, and others where they just don't. Everybody's ears are different, and therefore for those who have ears that aren't compatible with that design, it's nice to have different sized silicone attachments like Bose offers. Hard to beat apples ease of use when connecting to an iPhone though. But unlike most apple products, the air pods will actually work with Android phones, too. It'd be nice to see them willing to extend that to a few other of their products as well.
One question : do those Bose earphones make you look like Shrek? I feel like everyone is complaining about the design, are they really that bad when it comes to the aspect?
I can't agree 100% here. Uncomfortable headphones could have the best sound in the world, but if they aren't worn, it doesn't matter. The Bose sound better than the airpods, which I said in the video, but there are more factors than just sound. Have to look at the whole picture
Within a week of buying Bose earbud the left earbud stopped working. sent the set to Bose service center two times now and every time getting it back saying "software was not updated" which they have done it now. The very next day having the same problem again.. struggling for a refund or replacement but they don't care!! with Iphone - sometimes it works, sometimes Not with Garmin Vivo active 3 music watch- not working completely DO NOT BUY BOSE earbud! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!

When I first saw this earbuds (Bose) from a friend in a different version (the one with has a wire that goes back in your neck), I heard the sound and really liked it. Sound was very good, even when I compared with expensive headphones and that was exactly what I was looking for running in the streets. After some research, I found this model which would be even better for me, since I prefer no wires touching my neck or back when running. I didn't find any official reseller in Brazil, so, I bought them in "MercadoLivre", which is marketplace pretty close to ebay in other countries. The product arrived to my hands on August 25 2018 (5 months and almost 2 weeks before this review). I really appreciated it's quality, it's battery duration, it's color (in my case I chose orange) and specially it's sound quality, which is amazing. I use this earbuds something between 3 and 4 times per week, only when running, during one hour each time and always cleaning them up after trainning. Ten days ago, I noticied that left side had volume decreased a little bit and it's sound was not excellent as it used to be. Three days later, quality and volume had decreased even more. Searching into it's user manual, I realized I was issuing the exactly procedure to clean them up, which is removing caps and cleaning them with water and neutral soap, to remove wax/body oil and passing softly cotton on the sound out. Reached their local technical assistance in Brazil (representative) and they said they couldn't do anything about my case, Since I didn't buy it from an official reseller. That if I had bought it from an official reseller, they would replace it for me, since this product has no chance to be cleaned up. Tried to contact Bose USA and they said they couldn't do anything. In Brazil I paied about 300 dolars for it and used for less than 6 months. This was not my first bose electronic, but, for sure, will be the last one, since, now it's function will be only to hold papers on my desk. So disappointed..... Don't buy it.

jamie gill I just bought the Bose and I love that they fit in your ear perfectly for sport and a lot of other thing, AirPods just look like a tips hanging out of ur ears but the Bose are not well no and people might question them. However the Bose are really comfy and the AirPods are not that comfy so I do prefer the Bose👌
I just bought the bose, I can verify that the calls SUCK at times but for others its fine... Also, you can listen with just one which is amazing. I'm currently charging my left and listening to music with my right! They also don't fall out and are more comfortable than both airpod and the Elite ( i bought and returned both ). Strongly suggest bose if you don't care what they look like but just want over all quality in every other aspect!

Sound quality is good but they unfortunately drop the sound very often. This is almost always the case in loud train stations or airport. This case been reported before but no corrective updates. Beware.

I am an audiophile and dislike MOST Bose products, but the SSF are decent. They aren't the best sounding headphones but for a set of wireless headphones, they sound DAMN good. After a bit of EQ'ing, they really shine and easily become one of my most-usable headphones to date. Hope 2020 can bring something better ;)

Accidently bought them through Verizon and will be arriving tomorrow. I had them in my cart and decided to wait for the reviews. Well, I look in my email and see a UPS Delivery message from Verizon. After reading and watching several videos about the Bose, I'm excited. I'm a big fan of Bose but also of Apple. I have both in my home so I guess either way, it's a win for me! Thank you all for the reviews and comments. Made my decision not to cancel my accidental order of my new Bose coming in tomorrow.
I agree with you, but the microphone quality of the Bose is really good. I own a Huawei P20 Pro an no one noticed a change in quality when I lay in bed and switch to my Bose for calling. Everyone said I sound really good. Before the Bose I had Ultimate Ears Fi 5 Pro with customized ostoplasty earpieces and I'm still happy with the Bose :)

Has anyone mentioned the find my buds feature app to track them and turn on sound pitch to locate them. Amazing feature if buds are ever misplaced.
+1 for the Bose SoundSport Free... BestBuy Salesperson told me they were the best for running, he was right. Bose sound so good & wear so well I wear them for hours at a time 'round the house. Fell asleep last night with them on listening to classical music. Used to own Apple Airpods- happy but not great for running, felt like they were gonna fall out within 10 mins.

I purchased the Bose Soundsport Free ear buds. Strongly advise against it. It has severe latency issues, which is very perceptible, and extremely annoying while watching videos and movies. Almost a 1 second delay, and therefore no lip sync. Movies and videos are unwatchable. I contacted Bose support via twitter, and they are very aware of this problem, but still not addressing it. Nor are they communicating properly to potential customers that this is not meant for watching videos. The latency issue is not mentioned on their box, nor in ANY communication. This product will definitely ruin their reputation. They have even disabled comments on their RUclips video because of the large volume of complaints. First time ever experiencing such a basic problem on a headphone, which pretty much makes it unusable for most purposes. I have no idea why Bose chose to release this product without fixing issues.

Thanks for your video, I just ordered the Bose SoundSport Free & I'm thinking that I should've done more research before ordering them. Eventhough people are saying that the Bose are great when listening to music, but aren't that good when taking phone calls. I know that I'm gonna be using them more for taking phone calls than listening to music, so I'll just have to see when I get them.
The calls were definitely the weak point for me. I have ALOT of conference calls, so it was a larger impact than I thought even after this video. :/

i have both and use them in different occasions. Bose is awesome with sport and it doesn't fall no matter how you jump. bad thing is the case loses power over time because it continues charging the earbugs. Airpods works well on daily walking on street, plane, work on the go, or conferences.
Yeah, Bose is by far a better sound producer than Apple, but it makes sense seeing as Apple doesn’t focus only on sound. They may have more potential if they wanted to put in more effort. I haven’t tested the soundsport free, but I have the soundsport and have used my friends AirPods for a week to see if I would notice a difference, and the Bose just have a more defined quality

Met with answer, "Bose are hot garbage when it comes to phone calls." that's all I needed to hear, as I don't need headphones that much for music - more for phone calls. Still hoping Airpods will up rev soon - waiting for improvements!

I own both EarPods and Bose but what is always missed about apple is that you can also hear with one ear pod at a time and will last 10 hours or longer as you recharge the one not used. I work 15 hours a day and listen all day with one at a time. Where no other EarPods does that. That’s the major difference that is left off reviews

I disagree with the statement about Bose and phone usage, I use it all the time and most people have no idea that I am on wireless. Sounds quality is excellent on both, however like he said, Bose has better sounds quality.

I have both . I love the Apple AirPods for travel and general day to day use, but they fall out my ears trying to wear during workouts. The Bose are my favorite for working out, I get mine sweaty, ran in rain, wipe off, and they work the next day... Also like you said the Bose seem to feel better with rubber tips, and the sound is a bit better ... Apple=Day to Day , Bose=active life

I had the bose free headphones a couple of days ago and they had a hug latency while watching RUclips videos from the app... also the connection to pc is a struggle that does not pays off cuz its very unstable! There is audio-video lag in many apps but some others like hulu work great no lag whatsoever. I did the update and everything possible but they suck for everything but to listen to music so no thank you and I returned them, now I have the soundsport wireless and they do work flawlessly with every app and any pc connection, even great for pc gaming! But the soundsport free are a huge disappointment! Oh btw I called bose customer service and they are aware of this audio-video lag so don’t even try to tell me that they have no latency issues cuz they do.
I've been using the Bose SoundSport for almost a year, and with all iOS devices (iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro, iPad 2018 - all 12.1.2) on the RUclips App I have a delay of almost a second between picture and sound.
I have contacted the support again because of this video and received the answer below.
They admit an asynchronicity and find this to be technically feasible today. No solution is promised.
The succinct answer is: " With all the features, it's impossible to build in more technology now to make the SoundSport more capable of multimedia. I think, Mr. Hostettler, you will understand that you have to do technical sections here and there in order to achieve top class in a certain area".
That's it never BOSE again.
I can't recommend these headphones.

The AirPods have a technology that is still hard to match when it comes to connectivity. If they would only improve on the sound quality and the ability to stay in your ears, they’d have a winner. Plus they look ridiculous. It seems weird to me that they bought Beats and still have ear phones with an archaic and far from perfect fit. And how about that sound? C’mon Apple

Alex C Connectivity works best with IPhones 7 and higher! Sound quality is better with IPhones!! They are not bad as people let you believe! AirPods look bad at first sight! But when I bought them and started to wear them I begun to like them just as everyone else does! The Fit is perfect? You are just unlucky to have the wrong ears for the AirPods!

Bose is great. I personally haven't had any issues with calls. It's clear and crisp, and I'm speaking at a normal volume and pace...the caller can hear me fine. There are some settings you can play around to enhance the audio quality.

It kind of depends of your purpose of use with the two different earbuds AirPods are better for urban environments. Bose are better for the gym/working-out, running because the ear piece makes sure they have a snug and won’t fall out. They both have there advantages and disadvantages it all depends on your purpose for the two pieces of technology.

I have had both earbuds and personally the AirPods are much better. The sound in the Bose earbuds are definitely better but besides that AirPods are much better with how accessible they are and easy to handle

I'm watching this review wearing my Bose headset lol...Bose is quality for sure..lacks a little bass but it very clear for sure..my phone calls r way better than before..I disagree with the review on that..Bose is way better than the airpods.
The issue of the air pods, if you can get over how they look like bizarre droopy antenna's sticking out of your ears (not that the Bose are any better sticking out like one of the largest hearing aids ever made) they are one-size-fits MOST and I know some people where they fit perfectly, and others where they just don't. Everybody's ears are different, and therefore for those who have ears that aren't compatible with that design, it's nice to have different sized silicone attachments like Bose offers. Hard to beat apples ease of use when connecting to an iPhone though. But unlike most apple products, the air pods will actually work with Android phones, too. It'd be nice to see them willing to extend that to a few other of their products as well.

I can't agree 100% here. Uncomfortable headphones could have the best sound in the world, but if they aren't worn, it doesn't matter. The Bose sound better than the airpods, which I said in the video, but there are more factors than just sound. Have to look at the whole picture
Within a week of buying Bose earbud the left earbud stopped working.
sent the set to Bose service center two times now and every time getting it back saying "software was not updated" which they have done it now.
The very next day having the same problem again..
