I started watching your channel from the New Testament, and now that I have caught up. I realize I am starving for more. So I am also going to follow the Old Testament. Brother, thank you for having the gift of spirit to use the words , definitions, and the story’s of our brother and sister from your life and bear testimony of Jesus Christ with the rest of us.
Nancy, having been one who has "messed up" my heart goes out to you in your sorrow and humility. I understand those feelings. Been there, done that. You aren't in that boat alone. You are in good company. Just know that as much as we mess up, our Savior follows behind us with a spray bottle and rag to wipe away those messes. As much as I am sure of my weaknesses, I am even more sure of our Savior's ability and willingness to absorb those weaknesses and give us strength. I know what He suffered, in part, when He accepted responsibility for my sins. I have been given a glimpse of that incomprehensible love that He feels for me and for you that enables Him to carry that burden. Have faith in Him. He can do miracles! I've experienced some of them!!!! He loves you, Nancy. Never doubt that. Turn to Him..... He will do miracles in your life!

This was answer to my prayer. I wanted to understand how the creation pointed to Jesus Christ. I also wanted to know why the Lord would teach us about the Creation without explaining details. you answered everything so masterfully. I'm blown away and yet feel so ready to really dig into the symbolism of the old testament. Thank you so much.

Wow, this discussion about the symbolism of the seven days of creation is incredibly helpful in helping me understand how it all represents my Savior Jesus Christ. I've never really managed to understand that before. Thank you
I so appreciate all the time and effort, study, insight and inspiration you put into these podcasts. I only started listening in 2021 and now am going back and listening to all those you did in 2020. As I was listening today to this particular podcast I thought of Amy Hardison's book, Understanding the symbols, covenants, and ordinances of the Temple. She talked about how Adam and Eve were clothed in glory and when they partook of the fruit, they lost that glory and were naked. I like the chiasmic order of being clothed with glory at the beginning and the end and how we are left naked or unto ourselves when we sin. But in her book she talks about names and how sacred they are and as Adam named the beasts they recognized that Adam knew them and willingly gave him obedience because he knew their names and when he called Eve - it was a sign that he knew her name and she could trust him to be a follower after righteousness. Amy wrote, "Bestowing a name is a great honor . . . It is important to note that Adam does not name his wife, Eve, rather he calls her by the title God conferred upon her. Thus, it is God who has dominion over Eve not Adam. Earlier Adam calls Eve by a different title. He calls her woman, the title that emphasizes their mutuality. However, I like the concept that Adam knows Eve's name and by demonstrating that he knows it, she can be assured that he is a follower after righteousness. Dear Brother Jared, I’m glad to be in your virtual classroom. The biggest classroom I’ve ever been in. Maybe 10 or 15 years ago History Channel had a series history of old and New Testament. It was called “ Mysteries of the Bible “. I watched it many times and watched episodes over again. How you produced your lessons for video reminds me of that series. I like your videos better because it’s more instructional. I have a LD. I need to learn visually with photos and verse’s spelled out on the screen while with your commentary and that’s what you do. Thank you for making a person with LD feel a little bit smarter and build up my self-esteem

I learned from my seminary teacher that the fall was literal, the earth moved from a place closer to God to its current location. I thought about that for awhile then realized time was different in the place the earth was created, so we cannot estimate how long it "took". ...however I do believe we have been in our current t orbit for approximately six thousand years, when the earth came into the current orbit after the fall....

I agree with your hint of the participation Heavenly Mother in the creation of the earth and also in the creation of Adam and Eve. Years ago, I took an Old Testiment CES class from Brother Robert Matthews. During these chapters, he taught that Adam and Eve were created just as we are created. However they would have been created as immortals. I look forward to the day that I can be blessed to be able to embrace both my Heavenly Parents.

I need to share this. My son was listening to a science radio program discussing the most recent findings about the universe and especially this information about our sun and solar system. They expressed this new finding, that the earth was already in existence before the sun burst into existence. This sure goes along with the steps of creation!
I loved the statement God invisions, executes, examines and then finally he evaluates. I machine embroidery and digitize designs and when you said that it it really clicked with me. The envision is what hit me as that is what I do. It was fun to see that and it helped me see the creation better. Thanks for all you teach us. You're awesome.

One of the best talks I have ever listened to is by W. Cleon Skousen titled, The Meaning of the Atonement, which includes an explanation of element and intelligence, something to be acted upon and something to act, and how Christ as Creator is able to redeem His creations. Since He is The Light and Life of all creation, He did watch until He was obeyed. This is how He performed His miracles through His priesthood power. All the intelligence and element listen and obey because they honor and respect His love and light. This is why the 3 Pillars of Eternity (Creation, Fall and Atonement) are so inseparably intertwined in the Doctrine of Christ.
I love your insights. Haven’t listened to the whole lesson yet. But from what I understand from Moses and Abraham Adam was actually the first life upon the earth. Everything thing else was created in its spiritual sphere. It was only after Adam was placed on the earth that the rest of the what had only be create spiritually was actually placed upon the earth. And Eve came forth after all of this. Eve from my understanding was also not present when told not to partake of the tree of Good and Knowledge. I’m not sure it’s relevance to the lesson. But did find it interesting. I shared this with my daughters. One replied “ So the reason why men think their wives want to come home to surprise completed renovations was ingrained from the beginning “😁
I love these videos! I have a different take on mankind taking longer to obey God than the dust of the earth. We are indeed less than the dust of the earth because at least the dust obeys him. But technically the dust has been on this earth a lot longer than any of us have. It has had potentially millions of years to learn to obey his voice with exactness. What I see in the example of the elements is hope, that as the father continues to watch us until we learn to obey him, not just during our lifetime. But millions of years into eternity. I see the hope that we might become as obedient as the elements have learned to be.
I remember years back when contemplating the Sabbath I was told through the Spirit, “ Whatever you give the Savior, he will multiply. So if you give him a day of Holiness he will multiply your holiness.” And we desperately need him to multiply our holiness each week to stand in the world for a whole week. I thought of Abraham. Because he was willing to give Christ his only son, Christ was able to multiple his posterity more than the the sands of the sea. Or Joseph Smith willingly giving a dark 6 months in prison so the savior could multiply his sacrifice and the prison in heaven could be open and temple work could be done.

You may not be an artist but you do verbally paint pictures. My head was spinning as you shared your insight. Interesting as you spoke of land and sea, the land being grounded and established and the water ebbing and flowing according to modern trends, so to speak and yet tie that in with Christ being the Living waters. There is nothing more powerful then a waterfall in regards to living, and water itself cleansed the earth with the flood, and we can’t live without water. But I totally get the Contraries you spoke of. I am a sculptor( or sculptress) and I created a piece called “Be Perfected in Him” and it is a depiction of Christ with a hammer and chisel chipping away the imperfections of a submissive piece of stone (a man). So no we were not made of dust but as you said we must be obedient and submissive as the elements. Oh my goodness I could go on and on with the things I liked about this delicious visual feast. Thank you so much.
This touched me deeply and in fact was so poignant to my own feelings that I wept often. It also gave me great hope and a new perspective on ashes, in particular. Thank you so much for your time and Knowledge and personal light.
This 'Come, Follow Me' lesson is well timed, just six days after the 'time machine' James Webb Space Telescope was launched to look back in time to the near birth of the universe this Christmas Day 25/12/2021, a day celebrated as the birth of Jesus Christ. In the dream my inactive husband asked, So is this your favourite Sunday School teacher? And I said yes!!

I learned from my seminary teacher that the fall was literal, the earth moved from a place closer to God to its current location. I thought about that for awhile then realized time was different in the place the earth was created, so we cannot estimate how long it "took". ...however I do believe we have been in our current t orbit for approximately six thousand years, when the earth came into the current orbit after the fall....

I agree with your hint of the participation Heavenly Mother in the creation of the earth and also in the creation of Adam and Eve. Years ago, I took an Old Testiment CES class from Brother Robert Matthews. During these chapters, he taught that Adam and Eve were created just as we are created. However they would have been created as immortals. I look forward to the day that I can be blessed to be able to embrace both my Heavenly Parents.

I need to share this. My son was listening to a science radio program discussing the most recent findings about the universe and especially this information about our sun and solar system. They expressed this new finding, that the earth was already in existence before the sun burst into existence. This sure goes along with the steps of creation!

I loved the statement God invisions, executes, examines and then finally he evaluates. I machine embroidery and digitize designs and when you said that it it really clicked with me. One of the best talks I have ever listened to is by W. Cleon Skousen titled, The Meaning of the Atonement, which includes an explanation of element and intelligence, something to be acted upon and something to act, and how Christ as Creator is able to redeem His creations. Since He is The Light and Life of all creation, He did watch until He was obeyed. This is how He performed His miracles through His priesthood power. All the intelligence and element listen and obey because they honor and respect His love and light. This is why the 3 Pillars of Eternity (Creation, Fall and Atonement) are so inseparably intertwined in the Doctrine of Christ.

I love your insights. Haven’t listened to the whole lesson yet. But from what I understand from Moses and Abraham Adam was actually the first life upon the earth. Everything thing else was created in its spiritual sphere. It was only after Adam was placed on the earth that the rest of the what had only be create spiritually was actually placed upon the earth. And Eve came forth after all of this. Eve from my understanding was also not present when told not to partake of the tree of Good and Knowledge. I’m not sure it’s relevance to the lesson. But did find it interesting. I shared this with my daughters. One replied “ So the reason why men think their wives want to come home to surprise completed renovations was ingrained from the beginning “😁
I love these videos! I have a different take on mankind taking longer to obey God than the dust of the earth. We are indeed less than the dust of the earth because at least the dust obeys him. But technically the dust has been on this earth a lot longer than any of us have. It has had potentially millions of years to learn to obey his voice with exactness. What I see in the example of the elements is hope, that as the father continues to watch us until we learn to obey him, not just during our lifetime. But millions of years into eternity. I see the hope that we might become as obedient as the elements have learned to be.

I remember years back when contemplating the Sabbath I was told through the Spirit, “ Whatever you give the Savior, he will multiply. So if you give him a day of Holiness he will multiply your holiness.” And we desperately need him to multiply our holiness each week to stand in the world for a whole week.
I thought of Abraham. Because he was willing to give Christ his only son, Christ was able to multiple his posterity more than the the sands of the sea. Or Joseph Smith willingly giving a dark 6 months in prison so the savior could multiply his sacrifice and the prison in heaven could be open and temple work could be done.

You may not be an artist but you do verbally paint pictures. My head was spinning as you shared your insight. Interesting as you spoke of land and sea, the land being grounded and established and the water ebbing and flowing according to modern trends, so to speak and yet tie that in with Christ being the Living waters. There is nothing more powerful then a waterfall in regards to living, and water itself cleansed the earth with the flood, and we can’t live without water. But I totally get the Contraries you spoke of.
I am a sculptor( or sculptress) and I created a piece called “Be Perfected in Him” and it is a depiction of Christ with a hammer and chisel chipping away the imperfections of a submissive piece of stone (a man). So no we were not made of dust but as you said we must be obedient and submissive as the elements. Oh my goodness I could go on and on with the things I liked about this delicious visual feast. Thank you so much.

This 'Come, Follow Me' lesson is well timed, just six days after the 'time machine' James Webb Space Telescope was launched to look back in time to the near birth of the universe this Christmas Day 25/12/2021, a day celebrated as the birth of Jesus Christ.

Thank you again for a new Chapter of the scriptures. My Husband and I enjoy and are learning so much from you. The Lord is always close to us and we love him so much. Learning of him brings us joy to know that we learn what kind of a forgiving person we have for a brother. We feel him, we have seen what he has done in our life. My testimony has grown much more and knowing he is always with me (sister Higa) I love him for giving me all what I have that makes me happy which is my family, our children, grandchildren and our great grandchildren.
