I’m not going to stop laughing about the word “Boobie-vania”.
That said, interesting looking game, I like the weapon upgrade system, but without a strong story it may be hard to get into this one.
Thank you for bringing this game to our attention, I enjoy your honest reviews and all the games you bring to us.
That “like” is for Boobievania. You’re a real toy for pulling that one out of your war chest. Areola-ways with the puns in here!
This legit looks like a lot of fun! Hopefully the final can iron out the guffs and give the localization another pass or two.
Also, "Boobievania" may be the best genre description of all time xD
I always appreciate these videos David as I get to see many games I might otherwise have missed, this doesn't look like its for me personally I'll stick with chained echoes but I'm sure many people will be interested in this one
The combat and upgrade system look fun, but I'm afraid I'll die of cringe with the story and other animu crap.
I'll give it a try when it's on sale.
Thanks for the review. Boobievania best description ever 🤣
Oh, that deja vu feeling... I've seen almost the same game in "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night"
A martial artist with a gun ... now that is a true combat pragmatist that would make Bruce Lee proud
I am interested in this game because I enjoyed Tower Hunter: Erza's Trial. That game seemed to take the look of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, gave it an anime makeover, and then incorporated gameplay elements similar to Dead Cells. The result was rather fun, if a bit unbalanced (the game is mostly easy and then has a huge sudden difficulty spike in the 4th area) and I've been looking forward to seeing what would come next.
From what you have mentioned of the story, it is about what I would expect because the first game had an absurd anime-like story as well. It seems this game is even more ambitious than I had imagined with the different forms of gameplay for different parts of the story. What I am most curious to see is the aspect of exploration in the game and it seems that it has been expanded upon greatly in this game, especially with there being multiple planets to explore. Thank you for covering this game, I think I'll probably be getting it soon.
All the MtG players: "wait..Urza??" 😂
I'm sorry, did you say "boobievania"!? Lol
Good Looking Game. Thanks David.
I'm enjoying the game. It's def needing some more polish and additions but the bones are there. Really most intriguing for anime fans though.
I remember seeing another one of the Erza games (can't remember the title) showing up at GOG, and I kinda brushed it off, but this makes me think it's worth another look; the combat looks like a lot of fun.
Can't believe you didn't mention Bloodstained since this seems more close to that one than some other metroidvania types
good to see you branching out from strict JRPGs. You really do need to play Celeste and Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight is overrated
Hey, David. This looks great. May have to look into it in the future. Do you plan on doing a video of the best RPGs for 2022 or a possible buyer’s guide for 2023 RPGs with your recommendations of what we should look into? I would like to know your thoughts and also make sure I didn’t miss anything.
Regardless of whether you do, Happy Holidays to you and I hope you have a fantastic holiday season and new year! 😊
I do, be on the lookout for them in the coming weeks!
Was wondering what you might have thought about this game! It's been on my wishlist for a while now!
Have you tried Fear & Hunger 2: Termina? It might not be your style since it has some adult themes to it but is really unique.
I've been waiting until I can play all the Trails of games on PC legally in order before playing Cold Steel, did that series really go so far downhill?
he needs to play "Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin"
It sounds like this is my jam. I even like some of the stuff that you're complaining about.
Good to see that Japan has never abandoned its core gamer demographic of sweaty, middle-aged incels with AKB48 obsessions....
If they could get the anime tropes out of this one, it might be worth getting on sale. I like a good Metroidvania with upgrade stuff.
Actually, the developer is Chinese, but they do have Japanese voice actors on board. Erza is voiced by a star voice-actress too, Ito Shizuka.
NO man of culture!
convenient - is the nice word.
I want the Boobie - vania collectors edition!! It’s a 10/10!! Game of the year!!
Looks a lot like Bloodstained Ritual of the Night.
It has a very Eiyuden Chronicles Rising look in combat at least, which was at least the good part of that game so thats not too bad.
I personally can't play a game with none English voice and text.
Text only is fine, but if I hear a different language than what's in text, it breaks my immersion.
But hey, not every game has to be made for people like myself in mind.
I can hear Reeing in the Distance.
What's the difference between a Metroidvania and "boobie-vania"?
In all seriousness, you make a good point on "comedic" harassment and the annoyance of action dialogue that can't be understood during combat.
You had me at Boobievania.
Me too!!
I hate buying and I despise crafting. They need to go back to the proper gameplay: explore, discover, and loot.
Ugh spaceshooting section sounds horrible
Soo... There's nothing work talking about
The reviewer sounds like the in the closet gay roommate guy from Little Nicky.
I’m not closeted, but cool story bro.
the graphics of environments it's just not good cheap like hell
One of the main if not the MAIN thing's that keep me from playing any rpg games these days made is the fact that they keep making all the characters girls/women and in skimpy dresses and all that stuff. All the heroes are women etc.
I miss the old school style like FF 4 where you have a strong male knight as the lead with a dragoon and a few women characters.
There's plenty of modern RPGs with male protagonists.
@@ArcCaravan Yes, and then followed by 4 or 5 characters all girls etc.
To cute-sie and Wifu Japanese emo style for me.
I want to get in to those Trails series and see nothing but school girl characters.
Just turns me off.
I'm old school.
Lufia, Breath of Fire, Chrono Trigger, etc.
Games are to colorful and woke and female empowerment these day's.
@@georgeprime2013 Ah, yes. Chrono Trigger. The non-colorful game with no female empowerment.
@@tryingtobebetter7235 you know what I mean. All these games now have like 99% all female hero characters who are school girls in skirts.
Boomievania...?
C'mon man. Boomers don't play video games.
"The story was the worst part of the game for me and if you're playing for the story, you're doing it wrong".. I disagree so hard with this level of thinking. Story and characters are all that matters. I can forgive ok gameplay for a good story but good gameplay with characters I don't care about with a plot that doesn't matter is a waste of my very limited time especially when games like this are a dime a dozen now. I'll just play one with good story telling instead.
Sounds like you both agree that people shouldn't play RPGs with bad stories.
@@ArcCaravan I mean I quoted him directly. Did you even watch the video? I like this dude but I just disagree with that thought process. Some people like gameplay over story, I like story over gameplay.
Interesting game, strange review. Why u play japanese anime game, if typical anime stuff or jap dub triggers you xd
