    it's impossible to force horses in to such beautiful performances!

    Out of all the current top riders, Anky still has the best music, especially transitions in the tempo, in my opinion :)

    it´s a beautiful art how she can move her horses

    I still remember that time. Anky van Grunsven is one of the best horse riders in the world. Her perfection is great. The only thing that i miss is the original movements of Painted Black. Anky is a different rider, indeed.

    @walk4trot2canter3 oh yeah - Anky always has such beautiful intricate freestyles. I love her and her horses. but yes, sometimes she is "strong" with her training methods,...

    If Rollkur could be part of a dressagefreestyle, I guess Anky would win a goldmedal

    Okay I get what you're saying now and I agree to some extent. With training, if you make it enjoyable for them they are happy to work, yes they do oblige to us because they don't want to fight, but that's not the only reason. One horse I used to have literally dragged me out to the arena and would always race up to be caught, you can't tell me he didn't love his work. I agree with your point on rollkur, I would never use that method, but I believe this horse generally is happy with his work.

    And yes, I totally agree; horses are NOT humans. I dislike rollkur, in my opinion its just taking shortcuts, but you can't ignore the fact Bonfire is 25 or something and is still very much alive and happy - he was trained like the rest of her horses. What I can't stand is people saying she doesn't love her horses, that's a total low blow. But yes, I completely agree with some of your points :)

    @mariekerembrandt
    and dressage is not something you can force a horse to do, not at this level, they have to love it, otherwise it shows and they won't reach this level. Anky is a partner with her horse, it is not possible without a mutual relationship

  • @AshleighMcLean95
    @AshleighMcLean95 12 лет назад

    Also, what do you mean 'without Anky on their back?' Do you mean without a rider or with a different rider...? Just curious... Because no horse is going to do a GP test in their spare time in the paddock... and if you mean specifically without Anky on their back, then you're also wrong, because I've watched Painted Black and his new rider Morgan and it looks like dressage to me.

  • @GlidingArt99
    @GlidingArt99 13 лет назад

    @HarmonicNature okay let me be cruel here. That is a freakin horse. He doesnt understand if he has "done well' he doesnt love his work, he loves grass and water..he doesnt care if you say bravo. check out what horses do without Anky on there back...it sure looks nothing like dressage...:S just saying

    @rosephantom2
    Maybe that is the reason that the reason that she doesn't sell the horses that have don so much for her, and give them a great pension with a little friend on the field.
    I think mariekerembrandt have a great point there. Why do we talk about animal abuse with this horses. Maybe you have to watch a campain movie from Brooke Hospital, that is animal abuse. These horses have everything they could wish.

    @rosephantom2 Maybe you should look further than this clip or any other.. Just saying, you can't judge people you never met, huh?

  • @AshleighMcLean95
    @AshleighMcLean95 12 лет назад

    I know you wrote this ages ago but I can't help my self... Don't insult horses' intelligence. They know when they have done well through reward, how can you train a horse if you never reward them for doing the right thing? A horse can't learn unless they know when they have done the right thing.

  • @GlidingArt99
    @GlidingArt99 12 лет назад

    And I didnt mean they cant understand reward, I meant that it doesnt make them happy... They dont care as long as its not too much of a discomfort to them. I'm not a native english speaker and equine ethology is an extremely difficult subject, but I absolutely can't tolerate when people treat those poor horses like humans. They are not humans, they cant comprehend winning, wheter to win or lose is totaly indifferent for them...so from their pov, there is no need to make them do rollkur.

    I have to give her credit for riding all of her tests so beautifully. she really knows how to perform well in competition.
    that being said, I hate what she does behind the scenes.
    I mean, so what Rollkur gives the horse extremely flashy knee action and it makes them concentrate? ROLLKUR IS CRUEL!
    I would NEVER put my horse in that kind of misery! she just does it because she wants to win. if she was a true equestrian, then she would actually have happy horses.

    i never said it was rollkur. i just said i dont like her very much because thats how she trains her horses.

  • @AshleighMcLean95
    @AshleighMcLean95 12 лет назад

    I think you could be right ;) although he was the only one that ever dragged me to the arena! Who knows... I'm kind of the same, I have a lot of respect for her, but disagree with her training methods.

    I don't agree with rollkur either i didn't think she trained her horses like that :| I thought she rides like this training her horses as well :(

    thumbs down: Because people who are already known for using cruel, the-horse`s-body-and-soul-destructing methods are still accepted in sports !

    @GlompoFie it´s kinda sad and funny at the same time, how ppl like u always think every person being against even the slightest abuse towards animals, is a PETA-supporter *rofl* I´ve never supported PETA, but I do support other type of groubs/organizations, who all have their different paths when it comes to speaking for animals. In fact, I think many find it almost INSULTING to be called a PETA-love, including me!

  • @GlidingArt99
    @GlidingArt99 12 лет назад

    Well, I guess we really have different type of horses than:D Mines never dragged me towards any kind of work. They are no dressage horses and no races horses though... I am a very...noncompetitive horsewoman.:D I guess Anky loves her horses, yes. I just don't think she loves them the right way. Or maybe she loves riding more than she loves her horses. Or maybe she loves winning more. I can't tell, Im not her...But I'm not really a fan. though I have respect towards her.

    • @xxxhorsesanddrawingsxxx2977
      @xxxhorsesanddrawingsxxx2977 6 лет назад

      She does. She is very caring for her horses. Theres no competitions if she doesnt have a horse she can do it with. She was lucky with Salinero and Bonfire. But Anky doesnt get the bond she had with them. with Painted Black.

  • @mryoshiieee
    @mryoshiieee 15 лет назад

    that looked really nice, but i really dont like this woman. the way she trains her horses is disgusting. she practices rolkur and hyperextension. take a look at some videos about rolkur, its cruel.

  • @rosephantom2
    @rosephantom2 15 лет назад

    Horrible, she isn't good to her horses and just perverse... She rides for money not for passion, in her eyes horses are objects no subjects. People like her should be forbidden in sports!
